John Legend steals back Voice contestant from Team Adam Levine: ‘Come on home’
Legend mentioned early on the second night of the Knockouts that he had a steal remaining.

Wait, didn’t this just happen?
On Monday night, The Voice fans saw contestant Ari Camille change teams again. After she began on coach John Legend’s team, she was defeated in the Battle Round and stolen by one of his rivals, Adam Levine. Then, on the second night of the Knockouts, she was stolen again. Legend came to her rescue after she was defeated following her rendition of “Love Like This” by Faith Evans.
“We missed you,” Legend told her afterward. “Come on home.”
Legend had mentioned early in the episode that he had a steal remaining. And he used it after Levine chose Camille’s competitor, Britton Moore, who sang “Free” by Zac Brown Band.
Both performances were stunners, as they often are at this point in the competition. Before the contestants even left the stage, Legend announced, “I’m stealing somebody!”
Moore, who’s from Texas, said he’d never performed a country song previously. But the resident expert in the genre, coach Kelsea Ballerini, liked what she heard.
“Britton, your voice on a traditionally country song is so fun to listen to,” she said after his solo. “Every note is so crisp and perfect. It’s almost like you’re self-auto-tuned.”
Legend quipped that Moore’s voice is “God-o-Tuned.”
“Ari, your energy on stage just makes me so happy. Even you walking up, I was like, ‘OK, boots,” Ballerini said of Camille’s high white boots. “You really came to life, especially when you got out from behind that mic stand. You’re both amazing.” She couldn’t commit to a recommendation for Levine.
Coach, Michael Bublé observed that the two were incredible at just 21. The 49-year-old joked that, “if you add your ages up and then add a few years, you get me.”
He suggested Levine go with Moore.
“Ari, this song your style, your star power just all came together,” Legend told Camille. “This was my favorite performance of yours. I’m not gonna credit Adam being your coach.”
But he told Moore that his song was “pitch-perfect,” too.
And giving another indication of what he planned to do, Legend said, “Both of y’all earned the right to not leave this competition, I’ll tell you that.”
Levine proclaimed both “did exactly what needed to be done,” but he went with Moore.

Legend couldn’t watch Camille go home, however, so he went in for the steal.
Elsewhere in the episode, contestant Divighn said goodbye after a shocking elimination. The contestant covered Levine’s own “Harder to Breathe,” his song with Maroon 5, and got a lot of love from the coaches. Levine, especially, yubi, marveled at the Prince-esque dance moves and shrieks the contestant incorporated.
“Divighn, you got great taste in music, man,” Levine said. “I always secretly dread when people are gonna do our songs, because it always makes me nervous. I’m so close to it. I love what you did with it. You took it and did something that I actually like with it that wasn’t what I normally do. The fact that you can get up there and move the way you were moving and still just deliver like a rock-solid, big vocal, that’s big.”
But it wasn’t big enough, and Divighn’s coach, Bublé, opted to give opponent Kaiya Hamilton the win for her performance of “Here” by Alessia Cara. He didn’t like having to make it: “I made a mistake putting you together.”
The Voice Knockouts continue Monday, April 14, at 8/7 C on NBC.
