The Voice season 27 starts off with a bang as Adam Levine wins two four-chair turns and takes the lead
The Voice has officially kicked off its Season 27 with an electric premiere. The premiere featured the debut of newcomer Kelsea Ballerini, alongside current champ Michael Bublé as well as returning coaches John Legend and Adam Levine.

The Season Kicked off With Multiple Four-Chair Turns
The first four-chair turn of the season was South Carolina raised singer, Grace Miller-Moody. She took a risk and performed “Sunday Morning” by Maroon Five. While arguing for the singer, John Legend joked that other coaches had no chance of getting the singer due to the song choice.
Following the audition, Kelsea Ballerini introduced her “Adam Insult Button.” While convincing the artist to join their teams, Ballerini hit this button, which aired Shelton’s voice insulting Levine’s judging capabilities. Legend ended up being right, since Grace chose Team Adam.
The second four-chair turn of the episode was Pennsylvania native Ethan Eckenroad. Ethan performed a Noah Kahan song, which fit his tone perfectly. When fighting for the singer, Ballerini made sure to mention that she has a song with Kahan. In rebuttal, John Legend sent out a dancer, holding a sign that said “Team Legend” to attract the singer to his team. Unfortunately, neither ploy worked, and Ethan chose to join Team Adam.
Kelsea Ballerini Hits First Ever Coach Replay
The first ever Coach Replay was used during the first night of the competition. The coach replay button was hit by Kelsea Ballerini, following Dan Kiernan’s performace of “High Hopes” by Panic! At The Disco. This BRAND new feature makes it so that the coach can decide to turn her chair for an artist after the fact. Legend and Bublé were shocked after Ballerini pulled this stint. Dan chose Team Kelsea.
Also joining Team Kelsea in this episode was returning artist Iris Herrera. Last season, she performed Fleetwood Mac’s “Gypsy,” but the coaches thought it wasn’t original enough to land her a spot on the show. She came back singing “You Are My Sunshine” and chose to join Team Kelsea.
The second singer to perform a coach’s song in the blind auditions is Angie Rey. The Latina singer loves country music, more importantly, Kelsea Ballerini.
Ballerini fangirl Angie Rey also joined Team Kelsea during the premiere episode. Angie performed “Penthouse” in her blind audition. The country coach was the only one to turn for Angie. The two even got to sing the song together after the blind audition!
Other Teams Fill Up
Also appearing in this episode is Renzo, who performed “Simple Man” Lynyrd Skynyrd. His voice impressed John Legend, so much so that he chose to block Adam Levine. Although Legend, Bublé and Levine turned, Renzo joined Team Legend.
Jadyn Cree, daughter of The Voice Season 25 Finalist Bryan Olesen, took the stage singing “Still Into You” by Paramore. The young singer turned the chairs of Michael Bublé and Kelsea Ballerini. She chose to join Team Bublé.
Singer Darius J came to the stage singing Usher’s “Caught Up.” Darius turned the chairs of Bublé, Levine, and Ballerini. Levine joked that his close friend CeeLo Green would love his outfit. The singer chose Team Adam.
The final singer to join a team was Carlos Santiago. The singer took the stage with Richard Marx’s “Right Here Waiting.” Bublé and Levine turned for him, but the singer chose Team Bublé.
Also featured in this episode was Zack Zaro singing “Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears, and Lilli Doll singing Blondie’s “Heart of Glass.” Both were told they had great renditions, but needed more time to develop their voices.
