‘America’s Got Talent’ Competitor Stuns With Incredible Audition By Transforming An Iconic Adele Song

America’s Got Talent‘s landmark 20th season is off to a flying start, with an incredible array of global talent already setting the stage alight and helping the series reach new heights. From the stunning Brazilian group LightWire stunning Simon Cowell and earning a much-deserved golden buzzer to one-time American Idol contestant, Jourdan Blue, getting reality show retribution and receiving a golden buzzer from Howie Mandel, Season 20 has already had a bit of everything to keep the nation entertained.
In the latest episode of the series, yet another performance has got people talking, namely that of Indian band Girish and the Chronicles, a group with just over 60,000 subscribers to their YouTube channel, a number now sure to rocket upward.
Stepping onto the America’s Got Talent stage, the band had every judge, the audience in attendance, and millions of viewers home breathless with their energetic cover of Adele’s classic “Set Fire to the Rain.” Hailing from Sikkim, India, the band traveled halfway across the world with nothing but their instruments and their talent in hand.
Girish and the Chronicles Gave One of ‘America’s Got Talent’ Season 20’s Best Auditions Yet
After a brief, adrenaline-pumping chat with host Terry Crews, the band hit the stage with their style and confidence alone already drawing rapturous applause from the audience. With the band admitting they had been together for 16 years, this was clearly a huge dream, with the audition perhaps even a make-or-break moment for them; “It’s been quite some time,” the front man said.
After humbly introducing themselves, the band’s audition was thankfully anything but, with their incredible, hair metal-esque talent, led by Axl Rose-like vocals, blowing the roof off the arena as AGT turned into a professional-level rock concert.

With authentic 80s rock tackling a beloved Adele song completed to perfection, Girish and the Chronicles’ audition was complete. Now it was time for the judges to make their decision, although there was no doubt in anyone’s minds what the outcome would be. “The whole audition was on point,” Sofia Vergara said, with Mel B adding, “I think you’re one of my favorite acts so far this season.” With Mandel and Cowell adding even more gushing praise, and the latter even saying, “They [the audience] liked you. We liked you, and your voice is really, really good, by the way,” of course, the band went straight through, with Girish and the Chronicles one of the acts to watch out for in the next round.
America’s Got Talent‘s latest episode is available to stream on Peacock.
