The Voice execs hold crisis talks with coach Snoop Dogg as NBC is ‘furious’ over his homophobic comments
THE VOICE execs have held crisis talks with coach Snoop Dogg as NBC is ‘furious’ over his homophobic comments, The U.S. Sun has learned.
The backlash the rapper has been receiving for his rant about same-sex couples in film is apparently a “perfect example” of why he most likely will not be returning after season 28.

On a recent episode of the It’s Giving podcast, Snoop, 53, felt the need to share that he was “scared to go to the movies” after bringing his grandson to Disney’s Lightyear, which features a lesbian couple.
His comments caused uproar over the weekend, with many slamming the coach’s “homophobic” viewpoint.
The backlash has bled into his role on The Voice – which aims at being an “apolitical” and “inclusive” show, according to a production insider.
“This is the exact kind of conversation [the execs at NBC] didn’t want to be sucked into.
“Production had to remind him that he works for an inclusive, apolitical, family-friendly show, and comments like this only go on to create a divisive environment.
“The show does not condone the comments whatsoever. This is the opposite of the kind of spotlight they want on the show just ahead of the new season.
“And it just makes contestants and even some crew members not feel like the set is a safe space since they have all different kinds of people part of making this show come to life.”
The source added that “comments like these” are “exactly why Snoop is already on the outs with the show.”

“He’s a liability for network TV,” they added.
The U.S. Sun has reached out to NBC for comment.
Over the weekend, the rapper went on a rant during a podcast interview recalling his experience taking his grandson to see the Toy Story spinoff, Lightyear.
He claimed he was shocked when he learned the animated film’s protagonist had two mothers, which he claimed caused confusion for his grandson.

“They’re like, ‘She had a baby — with another woman.’ Well, my grandson, in the middle of the movie is like, ‘Papa Snoop? How she have a baby with a woman? She’s a woman!'”
“‘Oh s**t, I didn’t come in for this s**t. I just came to watch the goddamn movie.’
“‘They kept going, just said, she and she had a baby — they’re both women. How does she have a baby?’
“The experience f**ked me up. I’m like, scared to go to the movies. Y’all throwing me in the middle of s— that I don’t have an answer for,” he said.
IN THE DOG HOUSE
Previously, The U.S. Sun revealed that Snoop was most likely already on his final season of being a The Voice coach following his involvement in “messy” drama.
“He was brought back this season per his contract but he hasn’t been working out the way everyone hoped.
“Snoop doesn’t seem entirely interested in the job anymore or invested in the contestants.
“He’s also one of the few coaches who hasn’t won a season yet,” a source told The U.S. Sun.

However, following a series of endorsements for Donald Trump, Snoop has become more controversial than beloved in recent months.
The insider explained: “Then all the outside noise, his politics, and all of that, it’s not a good look.
“People were upset he brought the dark and ugly energy of politics into the conversation of a show that actively tries to be an escape from all of that.
“Mutually, I think everyone agrees this isn’t the best gig for him.”
The Voice season 28, which stars Snoop, Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, and Niall Horan premieres on September 22nd at 8 pm EST on NBC.
