BBC’s Ghosts is rumoured to return to screens after drawing to a close after five seasons on air, over a year ago. According to insiders, the series has been given the green light for a film adaptation.
A source spoke to the Daily Star’s Hot TV column, declaring: “A film has been written, and it’s been given the green light. Everyone involved is really excited that Ghosts will be on the big screen.”
The show, which starred Charlotte Ritchie and Kiell Smith-Bynoe as Alison and Mike Cooper, followed the couple’s escapades in the ghost-filled house they inherited from a distant relative. Both actors are set to reprise their roles for the film, alongside a star-studded cast.

The source shares that producers want to get the original cast back together: “It’s hoped that most of the original cast will reprise their roles. Producers have already signed up a few and are in talks with the rest. They’re aiming for a dream cast.”
The series finale saw the ghosts persuading Alison and Mike to sell their home to a hotel company in exchange for leaving them alone, only for the ending sequence to show the family twenty years later, reunited with their spectral friends in their “favourite hotel suite.”
