Jeopardy! Vs. Wheel Of Fortune: New Ratings Reveal Who’s Dominating The Game Show Wars

Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune typically air back-to-back every weekday, but one of these game shows is showing signs of overtaking the other in the ratings war. Both TV shows have undergone huge changes in recent years. After Alex Trebek’s death in 2020, a massive audition process began to find a replacement. After some hiccups along the way, Ken Jennings eventually got the coveted role. Meanwhile, Ryan Seacrest replaced Pat Sajak on Wheel of Fortune.
Recent ratings for Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortunate reveal who’s winning the game show wars.
TV Insider revealed recent Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune ratings from throughout the month of June 2025. For Jeopardy!, the Ken Jennings-hosted series earned an average of 7.846 million during the week of June 2. That number slid to 7.749 million the week of June 9, then rose to 7.787 the week after that.
Wheel of Fortune, on the other hand, drew in 7.456 million during the first week of June, which fell to 7.285 million the following week. Then the week of June 23 saw an average of 7.264 million tune in to the Ryan Seacrest-hosted game show. Interestingly, Wheel of Fortune received 8.902 million viewers the first week of March 2025.
When comparing the viewership across June 2025, this means that Wheel of Fortune would only need to draw in 500,000 viewers to beat Jeopardy!
TV Insider noted that Ryan’s first week as host, which was back in September 2025, was the only week this season in which more viewers tuned in to Wheel of Fortune than Jeopardy! The ratings were 8.31 million versus 7.113 million.
What Latest Ratings Mean For Jeopardy! & Wheel Of Fortune
Fans Still Love Jeopardy! & Wheel Of Fortune

Jeopardy! is still the dominating show in the world of game shows. It’s an iconic series that has weathered some headaches in recent years. After an extensive audition search for a new host, executive producer Mike Richards was chosen as Alex’s replacement, but he stepped aside amid controversy.
Jeopardy! eventually hired two hosts–Ken and Mayim Bialik–who would trade places every so often. After Mayim took a break from her hosting duties to support the Hollywood strikes, executive producers decided to stick with Ken as the sole host.

All of these various changes and challenges in recent years, it wouldn’t have been surprising if fans decided to lose interest in Jeopardy! However, that has not been the case.
Over on Wheel of Fortune, the search for Pat’s replacement didn’t last very long. They didn’t go through an audition process like Jeopardy! did. Instead, executive producers quickly announced that Ryan would take over after Pat retired. Ratings have risen with Ryan as host, which proves that fans love to see Ryan on their TV screens every single day instead of only in the winter and spring on American Idol.
Our Take On Jeopardy! & Wheel Of Fortune’s Ratings Gap
Fall 2025 Will Be A Big Test For Both Game Shows
It’s exciting to see that fans love tuning in to both Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. While Jeopardy! is the ratings winner, Wheel of Fortune is nipping at its heels. Wheel of Fortune has been in repeats in recent weeks as it begins its summer break, so that could explain the softening ratings for Ryan’s show.
It’ll be interesting to check out the ratings in the fall when both Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune are airing new episodes. It’s possible that the ratings gap will keep getting smaller. Fans will have to wait for September to find out.
