CNN’s news anchor Jim Acosta has issued a chilling warning to viewers ahead of his exit from the network.
The often aggressive news correspondent, who joined the network in 2007, is reportedly leaving after he was officially pulled from its programming schedule.
On Monday, The Status newsletter reported that Jim was expected to leave CNN after it was announced last week that his 10am program would be replaced with The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown in the network’s latest shakeup.
Now, on air, Costa gave the following statement to viewers: “Don’t give into lies don’t give into fear hold on to truth hold on to hope even if you’ve got to write it down on your phone and post it on social media.”
The newsletter previously reported that Mark Thompson, the CEO of CNN, pitched that Acosta move from his usual one-hour slot to a two-hour slot beginning at midnight, a far less distinguished and desirable place in the lineup.

A CNN insider told Fox News Digital they heard that the 53-year-old star “struggled with the choice” and could potentially cut his contract short as a result.
They also noted Acosta’s apparent exit “takes courage,” adding: “Many viewers like Jim… if there is anyone who could make the overnight go it’s him.
They also admitted: “It’s sad to see him go.”
Express US has reached out to CNN for comment.
Earlier this month, CEO Mark confirmed rumors that the anti-Trump anchor would lose his morning show after over 200 layoffs at the network were announced.
At the time, a network spokesperson said: “We are in active discussions with Jim about a new time slot and will have more information to share soon.”

Acosta became widely known as CNN’s chief White House correspondent for his hostile relationship with President Donald Trump and his aides during his first administration.
After the 2020 election, his role changed to chief domestic correspondent but he initially anchored a show on the weekends.
It’s believed the network’s current leadership appears to be trying to present its programming as more neutral for Trump’s second term in the White House.
Several other CNN staffers are allegedly up in arms over the shake-ups, which they view as surrendering Trump.
Acosta is expected to seek out new ventures that might build himself, according to the person with knowledge of the situation (per Variety).
Acosta might launch his own digital subscription product, one that could include his interviews and accountability reporting.
Acosta could offer subscribers something that might be less available on traditional outlets.
He recently posted a link to a new Substack-backed outlet via Threads, the Meta social-media platform.
The news anchor could also seek a new future in an era when many other journalists are testing similar methods.
Jennifer Rubin, the veteran Washington Post columnist, recently left that news organization to launch a startup publication, The Contrarian, that has the slogan Not owned by anybody.
Rubin is partnering with former White House ethics official Norm Eisen.
