Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve viewers have same complaint about Ryan Seacrest
After television personality Ryan Seacrest hosted 2025’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin Eve, viewers are all voicing the same complaint.
Television personality Ryan Seacrest has been making waves in 2024. The star took over for Pat Sajak after 40 years of hosting Wheel of Fortune, on top of his American Idol, producer, and radio gigs.
But Seacrest is no stranger to filling big shoes. In 2005, he took over for Dick Clark’s Rockin New Year’s Eve after Clark suffered a stroke in 2004.
This means that 2025 marked Seacrest’s 20th year hosting the holiday celebration, a big milestone for the star.
He shared to his social media followers: “This year is extra special for me—20 incredible years counting down to midnight with all of you.”
But despite his experience and excitement, fans are all saying the same thing — he will never be Dick Clark.
I remember when I couldn’t wait for Dick Clark’s new years rockin eve. He had so many artists and the talent was unmatched. Tonight’s Ryan Seacrest show. Isn’t worth watching anymore. Artist who can’t sing and play a guitar.

“I watched this from 1996 instead of Ryan Seacrest hosting “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2025” which Dick Clark is a far better host by the way,” wrote another about Ms. Piggy on Jay Leno’s New Year’s Eve show in 1996.
Another bluntly wrote: “I miss Dick Clark. Ryan is annoying AF and can’t shut the FU.”
“I really really miss Dick Clark. All other New Year’s Eve show pale in comparison. Watching Tyrus, Kat, and Kennedy and it’s cringe af,” a final fan chimed in.
