The Conners: Exclusive Trailer for the ABC Sitcom’s Final Season Touches Fan’s Heart
TVLine can exclusively reveal the trailer for the seventh and final season of the Roseanne spinoff, which returns with the first of six farewell episodes on Wednesday, March 26 (ABC, 8/7c). The footage — a combination of new and archival footage dating back to sitcom’s initial 1988-1997 run — is accompanied by wise words from “perfect parent” Dan Conner, who offers a pretty good summation of America’s most beloved working-class family.
“We treat each other with respect… we work hard… and no matter what, we stick together,” he says. “We always said if the kids were still alive at the end of the day, we did our job. I think we did better than that. It makes me realize that we did the right thing by not selling them.”

In the final season premiere, “Jackie stumbles upon an opportunity to sue the pharmaceutical company responsible for Roseanne‘s addiction, which sparks a family debate,” according to the official logline. Additionally, Becky and Tyler give cohabitation a shot, and Darlene receives a promotion at work and hopes that it will afford her more quality time with Ben.
As TVLine exclusively reported, Young Sheldon’s Zoe Perry — Laurie Metcalf’s real-life daughter — will appear in two Season 7 episodes as a cop who gives Jackie a hard time about considering rejoining the police force at her age. Meanwhile, Seth Green will appear in three episodes as Chad, “Darlene’s new friend at the Lobo who is going through a separation from his wife.” Per our sister site Deadline, “Chad and Darlene confide in each other and bond, a little too closely, over their similar biting humor.” (TVLine also revealed which former cast members will not be back, which you can read more about here.)
Including Roseanne Season 10, the sitcom revival will have aired eight seasons total — just one season shy of Roseanne’s original nine-season run. Combined, Roseanne and The Conners will have produced a whopping 343 episodes.
“We carry the weight of the Roseanne legacy. It’s a big, big deal,” executive producer Bruce Helford told TVLine last spring, on the heels of ABC‘s final-season order. “I can promise you this: They will never win the lottery, and they will never be rich.”
Added fellow EP Dave Caplan: “The whole time that we’ve been doing The Conners, we’ve never stopped feeling the pressure of the legacy of the entire run. We owe it to these characters because they’re the same characters. That is at the forefront of our minds with all of the stories that we’ve broken for The Conners, yubi, and it will be on our minds for the last six.” And now it’s time to see how they bring this decades-long saga to a close.
