Kelly Clarkson is reportedly “on thin ice” following the announcement of her Las Vegas residency being cancelled.

Over the past few months, the Grammy Award-winning singer has been dealing with personal “struggles,” causing her to consider leaving her demanding talk show. After finding clarity on the “very painful” issues, she was looking forward to stepping back on the stage for her upcoming residency in Sin City.

This summer, the singer was set to be leaving the East Coast for her Studio Sessions: The Las Vegas Residency. The intimate show was meant to run for 18 days, kicking off on the Fourth of July at Caesars Palace. However, she was left “devastated” just minutes before her opening night performance as she was left with no choice but to cancel her first two appearances due to vocal issues.

While speaking to Page Six, an insider opened up about the struggles Kelly was facing behind the scenes.

They revealed, “She belts out every single note. She’s an incredibly powerful singer, but it takes its toll on her vocal cords and she’s come incredibly close to needing surgery before.

“She cannot risk damaging her cords further – she’s on thin ice,” they added.

Kelly also admitted to having trouble with her vocal cords when she first announced the news of the last-minute cancellation.

On Instagram, she said, “We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans.

“I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow’s opening at Caesars.”

The singer added, “The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. I want the shows to be perfect for y’all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve.

“The show is truly incredible. The musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong.”

Along with the physical strain she has been experiencing, she has also been dealing with some emotional ones as well.

“Kelly’s personal life is so insanely complicated,” another insider disclosed. “Kelly is fighting some serious hidden battles that very few people are privy to …it’s a source of emotional and therefore physical distress for her.”

The Express US has contacted a rep for Kelly for comment.

The singer has not given an update on her health since she cancelled the shows. As of right now, the rest of her residency is set to proceed as scheduled.
