Game Show ’25 Words Or Less’ Gets A HUGE CHANGE: It marks a first for a game show
Game Show ’25 Words Or Less’ Airing Special One-Hour Live Episodes On FOX 5 (WNYW) and FOX 29 (WTXF)
Now through Wednesday, June 18, the fan favorite game show “25 Words or Less,” hosted by Meredith Vieira, is airing special one-hour LIVE episodes on FOX 5 New York and FOX 29 Philadelphia every weekday at 1:00 p.m. ET, marking a first for a syndicated game show, and building on the successful run of live episodes on Xumo Play.
The live episodes will temporarily replace two half-hour syndicated game shows during the limited run.
With the live format, viewers at home will get to do more than just watch the show on TV as they’ll now be able to play along for prizes themselves by participating in real-time polls, asking questions of Meredith and the guest celebrities, and even submitting their own clue suggestions.
“The live broadcast gives audiences an unfiltered look behind the scenes, including how we handle on-the-fly judging calls, gameplay mishaps, and the quick decision-making that keeps everything moving,” said Stephen Brown, executive vice president of programming and development at Fox Television Stations.
Renewed for a seventh season that will launch in the fall, “25 Words or Less” features two teams of celebrities and contestants as they face off in a fast-paced word game with a top prize of $10,000.
Available in 198 markets and 98% of the country, full episodes of “25 Words or Less” can also be viewed on YouTube and Xumo Play.
The game show is based on the iconic board game of the same name.
