[Happy Reunion] Happy’s Place season 2 might finally give fans the Reba CAMEO they’ve been waiting for
Happy’s Place season 2 might finally give fans the Reba cameo they’ve been waiting for

Whenever you’re in need of a good laugh, turning on an episode of Happy’s Place will do it for you. The comedy sitcom ended its first season back in March, and luckily, we haven’t seen the last of Bobbie McAllister and the quirky crew at the tavern just yet. NBC renewed Happy’s Place for a second season in February, and the new installment is confirmed to premiere this fall. More specifically, sometime in November.
Although November is still far off from now, fans have something extra exciting to look forward to. Season 2 might finally deliver the Reba cameo they have been hoping for! In a recent interview with Us Weekly, series star Reba McEntire revealed that her former Reba co-star JoAnna Garcia Swisher is “definitely” set to appear on the show. While she doesn’t specify if her appearance would be for the upcoming second season, it’s still a promising sign that fans could soon see the beloved reunion they’ve been waiting for.
“JoAnna is so busy. She’s producing, she’s got three movies and she’s [working on] Sweet Magnolias. So she is a very busy lady but she said she’d definitely be there.” – Reba McEntire
Swisher played the role of Cheyenne Hart, the oldest daughter of McEntire’s Reba character in Reba. Throughout the six seasons, viewers watched as Cheyenne grew from a naive, pregnant teenager into a more mature and responsible woman juggling motherhood, marriage, and college. Of course, she wouldn’t have made it through all those ups and downs without her mother’s love and support.
Sadly, it’s unknown what character Swisher will play when she joins the Happy’s Place cast. However, given her history with McEntire and their undeniable on-screen chemistry, we’re hoping she lands a role that gives them plenty of scenes together. Perhaps, she could show up at Bobbie’s tavern as a quirky new regular, or maybe she could end up being another long-lost relative.

Now that would be hilarious, given that Bobbie has just recently learned she has a half-sister whom she’s still getting to know. One thing’s for certain. If this long-awaited cameo makes it into Happy’s Place season 2, it’ll be one of the most talked-about moments of the show’s return.
Happy’s Place has had its fair share of Reba alums on the show already. Besides McEntire herself, Melissa Peterman, who plays bartender Gabby in the comedy sitcom, also starred alongside McEntire in Reba as Barbra Jean.
There have also been guest appearances from Steve Howey and Christopher Rich. Howey played Van Montgomery, Cheyenne’s boyfriend-turned-husband in Reba, while Rich portrayed Brock Hart, Reba’s cheating ex-husband. With the confirmation that Swisher will be joining the Happy’s Place cast in some capacity, it seems the show is embracing its Reba roots even more.
