After months of speculation and wishful thinking, Beyond the Gates fans have a reason to get excited because the CBS soap opera has confirmed a crossover that they have been begging for.
Karla Mosley took to Instagram to share a video teasing all the drama to come from the CBS soap opera. It ends with Anita (Tamara Tunie) greeting The Young and the Restless’s Devon Winters (Daytime Emmy Winner Bryton James), and welcoming him to Fairmont Crest.
Mosley captioned the post, “Articulette’s concert, more Dani drama (obvs), and a Devon Winters sighting in Fairmont Crest?!!!!!!!! This looks like a WEEK, y’all! @beyondthegatescbs @youngandrestlesscbs @cbstv 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥”
Fans immediately took to social media to share in their excitement. One user wrote, “Omg I was hoping that Devon would make a visit since he loves music 🔥🔥🔥 I cannot wait❤️❤️ let’s go Beyond the Gates” A second added, “Welcome Devon !!! We need more crossovers ! 🙌” With a third adding, “Let’s go!!!! The crossover I’ve been waiting for!!!”
CBS officially describes Beyond the Gates as a soap opera that is “set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington, D.C., in one the most affluent African American counties in the United States; a posh gated community with winding tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions to call home. At the center of this community are the Duprees, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty. But behind these pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered. And those who live outside these gates are watching closely. These are the places where our characters live, love, work and play. Those who have “made it” and those who haven’t are all trying to navigate life … and some with more grace than others.“
Beyond The Gates, developed and produced by CBS Studios / NAACP venture in partnership with P&G Studios, a division of Procter and Gamble, is the ground-breaking first hour long black soap opera to premiere in daytime. The creation is the brainchild of award-winning showrunner Michele Val Jean and Sheila Ducksworth, and the first new soap opera to premiere since NBC debuted Passions back in 1999.
Beyond the Gates airs weekdays on CBS at 2 p.m. ET, and streams weekdays on Paramount+. The series can be streamed from the beginning on Paramount+.
