Jon Cryer Talks Possible ‘Two and a Half Men’ Reunion After Charlie Sheen & Chuck Lorre Reconciliation. Can Fans Expect a Return?

Will Two and a Half Men be the next sitcom from the past to get a revival?
Originally premiering on CBS in 2003, Two and a Half Men starred Charlie Sheen as a wealthy and promiscuous jingle writer whose neurotic, chiropractor brother (Jon Cryer) and mischievous son Jake (Angus T. Jones) unexpectedly move in to his Malibu beach home. In 2011, Sheen was fired from the series partway through its eighth season after having a very public feud with creator Chuck Lorre.
The two have just recently made up, with Sheen even playing himself in Lorre’s new Max series Bookie. As many other sitcoms have been getting revivals and cast reunion specials in recent years, fans might wonder if that might now happen with Two and a Half Men, though Lorre suggested to Variety that it’s not very likely — but not impossible.

“I don’t think so,” Lorre said about a potential Two and a Half Men revival happening. “Not that I’m aware of. It’s foolish to say never. It’s still to me more gratifying and fun to do new stuff. And to let let the stuff we did in the past be the past.”
When asked about a potential sit-down interview special that could reunite the cast members, similar to Friends: The Reunion, Lorre suggested it may be for the best to just leave it be. As Lorre said, “It was just a lot [to reunite with Sheen], for both of us, we were grateful to be past it. Here we are, so many years later. And there was a lot of gratitude. I think it was warm. People said it must have been healing and you know, it was. It was wonderful to not just give the man a hug. We worked together and we had a blast. It was very reminiscent of those wonderful eight years where we had a lot of fun making a show that we worked hard on and we were proud of.”

Charlie Sheen Wants More Roles After Bookie
Before his controversial exit, Sheen had at one point been the highest-paid actor on television for his role as Charlie Harper on Two and a Half Men. In recent years, however, he hasn’t been acting much at all. He recently told People that he’s now been sober for six years and is back to being the person he was before his public meltdown in 2011. The actor said he’s now looking forward to getting his acting career back on track following his return to the small screen in Bookie.

“For the longest time, I had the best work reputation,” Sheen explained. “I was the first to arrive, last to leave, when in doubt, I would over prepare. I would just check every box. And then that went away. So I was really excited about being that guy again.”
Two and a Half Men can be streamed on Peacock, while Bookie is streaming on Max.
