However, some fans are criticizing the singer for her changing appearance, accusing her of having “too much surgery” in recent years. The 41-year-old recently made a significant career move and is slated to return as a judge on American Idol, a development that has reportedly thrilled show staff. She will be performing during the ABC special, reuniting her with Ryan Seacrest. Yet, as the televised performance approaches, fans have been scrutinizing her evolving looks over the years.

When the singer shared a video and photos on social media expressing her excitement about her upcoming gig, comments quickly flooded in.

While many expressed anticipation for her performance, others voiced their disapproval of what they perceive as extensive plastic surgery. “Quit the plastic surgery already. Sold soul,” one commenter wrote.

“Back when she looked normal and healthy and down-to-earth,” another added. “How much surgery has she had since then? ” a third asked.

In the past, Underwood has been candid about undergoing facial surgery following a severe fall outside her Nashville home in 2017 while walking her dogs late at night. The accident resulted in 40 stitches in her face and a broken wrist.

She later discussed the incident and her initial decision to keep her face hidden from the public.

“I feel like I do [look different] a little bit,” she admitted during her 2018 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “My biggest worry at the time was like, if I say nothing then later on…I feel like people are gonna say, ‘What has she done to herself electively? ‘” She clarified, adding, “And it definitely was not a choice. I feel close to myself. I feel pretty close to normal.”
