Star of ABC’s ‘Shifting Gears,’ Kat Dennings, talks about what to expect in season two
Amber is an Emmy Award-winning anchor with nearly two decades of experience. She joined the 27 News team in 2011 and has become deeply invested in the community.

Amber spends much of her free time supporting causes that she is passionate about.
Amber has two sons, Dax and Xander. Dax was born in 2018 with Tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital heart defect.

After having open-heart surgery at 11 days old, Dax is now healthy and thriving. Amber and her boys proudly support and volunteer their time with the American Heart Association and the American Family Children’s Hospital.
Amber also serves on the Madison AHA Board of Directors, is involved with the Friends of UW Health, March of Dimes, United Way of Dane County, Badger Challenge, Salvation Army of Dane County and several other nonprofit organizations.

Before settling in Madison, Amber worked in New York City as an anchor for News 12. She is originally from Ohio and graduated magna cum laude from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University.
