Donald Trump has slammed MSNBC host Rachel Maddow – claiming the network is “close to death.”
The new President hasn’t shied away from heavily criticizing ratings-challenged MSNBC, previously claiming it “shouldn’t even have a right to broadcast.”
Now Trump has taken aim at Maddow, who has been brought back to five nights a week in a shake-up to cover his early days in office.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, Trump gave a scathing assessment of Maddow’s ratings and also hit out at CNN on Truth Social.
He wrote: “Wow! Rachel Maddow has horrible ratings. She’ll be off the air very soon. MSNBC IS CLOSE TO DEATH.
“CNN HAS REACHED THE BOTTOM. This is a good thing. They are the Enemy of the people!”

Maddow reportedly took a $5 million pay cut at the end of last year as the cable television network’s ratings continued to nosedive.
Comcast, NBC’s parent company, announced it would split MSNBC and CNBC from NBC News in a bid to create a new spin-off company with several other Comast-owned cable channels.
Maddow, now earning $25 million a year over the next five years, is the network’s most-recognized news anchor and her show is their highest-rated program.
“This is a difficult time, and they needed to keep her,” one executive said back in November. “No one else can do what she does. You can’t build a brand like it overnight.

Maddow took a step back from her five-night-a-week television schedule in 2022 to pursue other projects, but is now back to hosting every night.
Trump previously branded the network “MSDNC” due to alleged favoritism to Democrats.
He also dubbed Comcast CEO Brian Roberts a “slimeball” who has £been able to get away with these constant attacks for years.”
