Michael Bublé Gets Sweet Revenge on Niall Horan With Four-Chair Turn on ‘The Voice’

19-year-old Sadie Dahl got a four chair turn on ‘The Voice’ for her Blind Audition of ‘Colors.’

It was a family affair when 19-year-old Sadie Dahl from Draper, UT, came to The Voice for her Blind Audition. She had both her mother and her grandmother along with her, which isn’t unusual, but it turned out that Grandma Linda is the biggest fan of The Voice, and also watches The Voice Australia and The Voice UK.

“She shows me new music and artists that she’s found,” Sadie said, as well as a documentary that her grandmother discovered on coach Snoop Dogg.

“The advice I would give her is to sing from her heart because the coaches turn when they feel emotion,” Grandma Linda said.

That advice paid off, and Sadie made her grandma proud when she received a four-chair turn for her rendition of “Colors” by Black Pumas.

Despite the four-chair turn, it turned out that Sadie could only pick from Snoop, Niall Horan and Reba McEntire, because Niall had used his Block to make sure that Sadie couldn’t choose Team Bublé.

“Sadie, Sadie, Sadie, 19 years old and singing like that,” Snoop said. “As I listened to your vocals, I hear so many different ranges of tone and delivery, and how you’re so professionally strong on stage. I hear some pop, I hear some soul, I hear some R&B. I hear a little bit of everything and how you can have your way with it, so if you choose me as your coach, I think we’d make great music, and I think you’d have a great career after this show.”

Then it was Niall’s turn to pitch Sadie, but first he wanted to gloat. He said, “You know what I love the most? When we all started to spin around, and I blocked Bublé. I could see his face lit up, and I was ‘Nope.’”

But then he got down to business, trying to woo Sadie to his team: “I love how you never wavered. It actually got better. Any of the artists I’ve developed while on this show, when I work with them, I try to curate a 10-track album. So when you leave this place and you walk into the door of a record label, you’re, ‘these are my performances from The Voice and this is the kind of thing I do.’ I am your guy. I promise.”

Reba was next in trying to sell herself to Sadie. She said, “Wow, you can definitely win this thing. That was mesmerizing. It’s so different what you do. So, way to go. I’d love to have you on my team. But wherever you land, I’m just very proud for The Voice that you’re on The Voice.”

It was with a long face that Michael  Bublé chimed in. He said, “I’m deeply devastated and disappointed for myself. I am also as happy for you.”

Then, Michael got his revenge on Niall for blocking him by talking up Snoop as the best coach for Sadie, saying, “You can choose a mentorship from one of the most beautiful human beings who just happens to be one of the greatest, most iconic entertainers of our lifetime. I mean, Snoop Dogg is one of the greatest musicians on the planet. When I think of somebody who has changed the face of music, I think of Snoop Dogg. And then, you have Niall. He’s good, too.”

Sadie laughed and said to Niall, “You had that coming.”

Michael continued, “The Voice wins, America wins. I will cheer for you the whole time. Sadie, it is now time to pick who will be your coach.”

But Snoop had some last words, “Sadie, dare to be different. Just like you are.”

Sadie chose to go Team Snoop. Michael’s words probably didn’t hurt nor did the fact that her grandmother had shown her the documentary on his career.

Snoop was ecstatic, adding, “Sadie was a great win. I love her voice, her style, and her uniqueness. I feel she can win the show.”

Then he told Sadie, her mom, and Grandma Linda, “Y’all are not going to believe it, but before I came out here, I was listening to a song from The Spinners called ‘Sadie.’”

As for Niall, well, he was having second thoughts. He realized, “I wasted my block.”

The Voice airs Monday and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Streams next day on Peacock.
