Michael Bublé’s Latest Project Honors His Son’s Harrowing Cancer Battle
Music superstar Michael Bublé has won five Grammys, sold millions of records, and won back-to-back seasons of “The Voice.” But on June 12, 2025, he announced on social media that the “greatest moment of my career” had arrived with the return of Disney’s animated “Phineas and Ferb.” The animated series is back after 10 years, including a cameo from Bublé, which felt like a full circle moment for him.
“Phineas and Ferb” aired from 2007 to 2015, and follows two ingenious brothers making the most of their summer vacations. Although Bublé’s role is funny, getting to be part of it was extremely meaningful to me. The show was a bright spot for Bublé’ during the countless hours he and his wife spent by their son Noah’s side as he battled cancer, the singer shared in his social media video.
“Not going to lie,” Bublé captioned his video, “being a part of Phineas and Ferb was a real ‘what is my life!?’ moment, in the best possible way!”

Michael Bublé Says His Family Watched ‘Phineas & Ferb’ Throughout His Son’s Cancer Treatment
In Bublé’s video, he shared a heartwarming story of how his family used to watch “Phineas and Ferb” after his son Noah, whom he shares with his wife, actress Luisana Lopilato, was diagnosed with cancer at age three in 2016.
“So, brief story,” Bublé began his selfie video, filmed as he drove. “Years ago, when my son was going through his health battle and we were in the hospital, every single morning and night we would watch ‘Phineas and Ferb.’”
“We would have dance parties,” he smiled, and began to sing the theme song. “Listen, it was the best.”

Bublé revealed that he eventually befriended one of the show’s co-creators, explaining “Years later, I would find Dan Povenmire on TikTok and I would write him and tell him that … he had brought so much light into my life. And we had lunch and we became buddies.”
“And years later, ‘Phineas and Ferb’ come back and he asked me if I would be part of it and I jumped at the chance,” Bublé continued. “Well, ladies and gentleman, season five of ‘Phineas and Ferb’ is here and the greatest moment of my career has come.”
He noted, “I am now singing ‘Tropey McTropeFace.’ I hope you dig it as much as I do. Dan, team, you’re such beautiful people, thanks for having me. And man, I get to be part of ‘Phineas and Ferb!’ How cool.”
Michael Bublé Says He Became A More Present Father After Son Noah Survived Cancer
Bublé’s son Noah is now 11 and the oldest of his four children. He was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2016 and underwent intense treatment for his condition, but has been in remission since 2017, according to Entertainment Weekly.

In 2023, Bublé told Steven Bartlett on his “Diary of a CEO” podcast, “My son’s cancer diagnosis rocked my world and pulled the curtain from over my eyes. That was a sledgehammer to my reality. I will never be carefree again in my life, and that’s okay. It is a privilege for me to exist. That pain, the fear, the suffering that comes with those sort of things, I guess it’s part of this beautiful life.”
Fans loved hearing why being part of “Phineas and Ferb” holds so much meaning for Bublé, including one who wrote in the comment section of his post, “Absolutely incredible. Talk about coming full circle ❤️ We are the lucky ones getting to watch you bring so much joy and happiness through your God given talents. God bless you, Michael, and your beautiful family ❤️”
Co-creator Povenmire commented, “Now we have to have you back” and Bublé replied, “put me in coach ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”
