There have been numerous changes to the show’s format this season that have divided viewers

THE Voice fans have slammed a significant format change where specific auditions weren’t aired fully, nor was the process of choosing their coach.

An example of this occurred on Monday’s episode, where fans noticed that one contestant’s experience wasn’t aired in the same way as the others.

It was a near blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment when Conrad Khalil auditioned for the singing competition.

Fans pointed out that the Newark, New Jersey native’s audition wasn’t aired the same way as the others.

In fact, much of his performance wasn’t aired at all, despite him getting at least one chair turn.

His backstory was shared in a personal video before his audition, like that of the other competitors; however, the cameras only captured a part of Conrad’s performance.

They also didn’t show which coaches turned for the young artist, nor the typical silly banter that often occurs among the panel when selecting the singers to fill out their teams.

Instead, it jumped right to The Voice coach Reba McEntire celebrating over having Conrad on her team and gifting him one of her signature jackets.

“I hate when they montage artists that make a team and then do a whole bit for artists who don’t get any chair turns,” one fan complained on X.

“We got 1/2 the audition, no preliminary stuff and even though it was a 1 chair tour absolutely none of the coaches feedback,” they added.

“It’s over???” someone else wondered following the short audition.

“A waste of time tbh,” another commented about the format adjustment.

Fans were previously divided over their thoughts about Carson Daly’s new card, the Carson Callback, in which he gives a contestant who didn’t get a chair turn another opportunity for a second audition.

It’s the first time that the longtime host has had a say in the contestants’ fates on the show, as he usually watches the blind auditions from the sidelines.

He presented the card to the lucky recipient, Ryan Mitchell, who nailed his second shot and joined Team Reba earlier in the season.

The three other coaches are Michael Bublé, Niall Horan, and Snoop Dog.

The Voice Season 27 Coaches

The Voice has gone through many coaches in its various seasons. Some stay on for a while, while others only stay for one season. Here is who will be coaching Season 27 in 2025.

Adam Levine – Season 1 to 16, 27

John Legend – 16 to 22, 24 to 25, 27

Kelsea Ballerini – 15, Comeback Stage, 20, 27

Michael Buble – 26 and 27

These are far from the only format changes that producers implemented for Season 28.

“The show’s format is by far the show’s biggest obstacle,” a production source exclusively told The U.S. Sun in May after the Season 27 finale.

“It’s a tough recipe to follow. The blind auditions, nothing gets better than that. That’s the show’s bread and butter and what put the show on the map.

“Now, everything after that? The show is still figuring it out as they go, even 27 seasons in.

They also noted that no season is ever the same as the one before it, and that producers “hear the complaints loud and clear.”
