NBC Unveils Fall Schedule Featuring Reba McEntire in ‘Happy’s Place,’ Daniel Radcliffe Sitcom & NBA Comeback
Fans of the Reba McEntire sitcom “Happy’s Place” are in for a surprise as NBC renewed the show for a sophomore season.
Not to mention there’s a brand new night for comedy. New seasons of “St. Denis Medical” and “Happy’s Place” will premiere in November. The latter will remain on Fridays while the former will lead the new block on Mondays.
“The Voice” also returns with season 28 which features new coach Snoop Dogg joining McEntire, Niall Horan and Michale Buble. That show will air alongside a new competition series from “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon called “On Brand with Jimmy Fallon.”
“On Brand” finds Fallon starting a marketing agency (On Brand Agency) where marketing executive Bozoma Saint John will act as the agency’s Chief Marketing Officer.
Per the logline: “In each episode, the On Brand Agency creatives will work with a major brand in need of a big idea for a massive, high-priority campaign — from creating earworm jingles and unbelievable activations to producing the most quotable commercials and must-have merchandise. They will have unprecedented access to the client’s business before pitching their vision to a brand representative, along with Saint John and Fallon, with only the best ideas moving on to proof of concept and the opportunity to see their campaign brought to life on the national stage.”
A new comedy starring Daniel Radcliffe and Tracy Morgan called “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins” will see “a disgraced former football player is on a mission to rehabilitate his image.” The series hails from “30 Rock” showrunner Robert Carlock and writer Sam Means. Longtime Carlock collaborator Tina Fey will produce. Radcliffe was previously featured in Fey and Carlock’s “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” on Netflix.
The NBA will also be making its grand return to NBC after several years away. Once it comes back in October, most of the airing schedule will change. NBC’s sports slate is joined by Big Ten college football and Sunday Night Football.
