Niall Horan Surprises ‘The Voice’ Fans With Major Career News Before Battle Rounds
The former One Direction member is dipping his toes into country music for an exciting collab with Thomas Rhett.

The Voice season 28 is airing new episodes every Monday and Tuesday on NBC.
Coach Niall Horan revealed he’s collaborating with country superstar Thomas Rhett on a new single called “Old Tricks.”
The singer’s newest single will be available on all platforms on October 17, 2025.
Niall Horan may be busy coaching a new season of The Voice, but that doesn’t mean he’s abandoning his own music career any time soon!
Season 28 of the hit NBC series is airing Monday and Tuesday nights, and folks adore seeing him mentor some of the newest artists who are ready for stardom. Devoted viewers also know he’s a former member of the boy band One Direction and has a successful a solo career, releasing music that continues to be played on the radio and streaming platforms.
Niall’s last full-length album, The Show, dropped in 2023, so it’s been some time since folks got the chance to hear new music from the singer. Well, it looks like people will get that chance sooner than they think. As announced on a joint Instagram post with country superstar Thomas Rhett, Niall and Thomas have teamed up for a new song called “Old Tricks.” The track will be available to stream on Friday, October 17, 2025.
“Couldn’t say no to this,” Thomas wrote in the caption on October 9. “Old Tricks with @niallhoran is coming next Friday, 10/17!”

Shortly after Thomas dropped the music news, Niall took to the comments to voice his own excitement about the career move.
“🤠,” he replied in the comments.
And if that’s not enough, fans were ecstatic when they learned Niall would be debuting new music.
“I KNEW HE HAD SOME YEE HAW IN HIS SOUL SOMEWHERE,” one person wrote. “My worlds collide!!!! Me 🤝 country music 🤝 Niall Horan,” another declared. “Cowboy Niall has arrived and he needs to STAY!!” a different follower added.
Well, we’re certainly ready to see Niall get back out there in terms of creating new music! What’s more, he already expressed his thoughts about his collab with Thomas on TikTok.
“New version of ‘Old Tricks’ with Thomas Rhett, coming soon!” he wrote on October 10. “Wow, I love this song!”
