Owen Wilson Opens Up in New Sneak Peek From His 79% Rotten Tomatoes Comedy Series [Exclusive]

Stick is a new comedy from Apple TV+ that features Owen Wilson as Pryce Cahill, a former professional golfer who falls out of the game after a tragedy in his life.
While he still tried to teach and was part of golf in a different way, it takes Santi (Peter Dager) needing his guidance to get Pryce fully back in the swing of things. And now we at Collider are excited to share a new exclusive sneak peek from this week’s episode of the series. And the scene is an emotional one for Pryce, which we haven’t really seen throughout the series yet.
In Episode 6, titled “RV Shangri-La,” the team is gearing up for the U.S. Amateur Championship. Mitts (Marc Maron) and Elna (Mariana Treviño) are getting closer, and that means that they’re talking a bit more openly about Pryce — including about the death of his son.
The clip shows Pryce and Elena sitting next to each other by the fire when they begin to talk about Pryce’s boy after he was around another child. Elena asks him if that’s hard for him, and he shares that it is less about being around kids and more about the things that he misses with his son.

Pryce talks about how everyone in his grief class talked about how they are going to miss their child’s graduation. But for Pryce, he says the thing that he will miss the most are the little things, like fighting over bedtime or telling his son that he cannot do whatever he wants. It is a sweet scene and one that really shows how Santi, Elena, and their dynamic are helping Pryce cope with the loss of his son.
‘Stick’ Shows Off a New Side of Owen Wilson
We’ve seen Wilson in a range of roles. He’s played more emotional roles in Wes Anderson‘s work, like The Darjeeling Limited, and fans saw how his comedy could be used within the Marvel world for Loki. But Wilson, as an actor, has been known for just his comedy work.

Stick is allowing him to spread himself out a bit more for fans to see, and getting to watch as Pryce not only connects with Santi but tries to make him the best golfer he can be, and giving us emotional scenes like this one with Elena is something special. Stick continues to be one of Wilson’s best performances yet!
You can see Wilson in Apple TV+’s Stick; Episode 6 airs tomorrow.
