Price is Right Announcer George Gray Claims Drew Carey Is His ‘Work Wife’
George Gray shared behind-the-scenes secrets.

George Gray dished on his playful friendship with Drew Carey.
George Gray usually stays behind the scenes at The Price Is Right. He allows comedian Drew Carey to run the show. However, he admitted that he would like to swap positions for one day. Gray also playfully referred to Carey as his “work wife.”
BTS Secrets
Fans are getting the behind-the-scenes details of the popular game show. In a new interview, Gray shared the secret ritual that he and co-host Carey have after filming wraps up for the week. But first, he was asked if he would make any changes to the daytime program. Gray likened it to a big family that jokes around with each other.
“No, I really like the way it is, and I do joke around all the time that Drew is my work wife,” Gray admitted, as quoted by The Express. “We see each other in the morning before we go on stage, and we’ll walk past each other like the old Wile E. Coyote cartoons from Warner Bros.”
Their pre-show prep involves impersonating the characters. “‘Morning, Sam, Martin, Ralph,’” Gray explained. “We’ll say that to each other. And then, we really chat for the first time.” The two are such close friends that they can’t stop talking between breaks. “Pretty much when we’re on stage, during the commercial breaks, Drew and I don’t leave the stage. He stays out there, takes questions, we goof off, have fun, and that’s when we will ask about how our weekends were,” Gray shared.

Friday Feeling
Gary and Carey spend a lot of time together outside the show as well. By the time Friday rolls around, they have a night routine when filming concludes for the week.
The cast and crew will go out for dinner. “So, it’s just a very tight-knit family. We all get along eventually. Everybody hugs. We all say, ‘I love you,’” Gray said. “It really is a family. And so even if we’re exhausted, it’s, ‘I’ll see you tomorrow.’”
The cast and crew even go on trips. They’ve been to New York City and Las Vegas. Carey plans the trips. Gray called the co-host “amazing and generous” and noted that his energy “makes the family really tight.” What are your thoughts on these behind-the-scenes secrets? Does any of this surprise you?
