Their tender moment on the Academy of Country Music Awards red carpet has been interpreted by many as a significant step towards marriage, given McEntire’s past statements. While no official announcement has been made, the palpable connection between the beloved country icon and her partner has intensified fan anticipation for wedding bells, prompting thoughtful discussions within the country music community about their future together.
Reba McEntire and Rex Linn Share a Sweet ACMs Moment
Reba McEntire and her boyfriend, Rex Linn, shared a sweet moment while walking the red carpet for the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards. While posing at the event, held on May 8 in Frisco, Texas, McEntire and Linn smiled as they stood shoulder-to-shoulder. The couple, who began dating in 2020, held hands as photographers snapped their cameras.
McEntire wore a glittering black jacket, a matching shirt, black trousers, and sparkling knee-high boots for the big night. Meanwhile, Linn sported dark-washed jeans, a black button-down shirt, and a matching blazer. He finished off the look with a blue tie and black dress shoes.

Not only are McEntire and Linn romantic partners, but they’re also co-workers. Linn co-stars with his girlfriend on her new ABC sitcom, Happy’s Place, which premiered in late 2024. During an October 2024 interview with Us Weekly, McEntire spoke about her dynamic with Linn, whom she described as “the love of [her] life.”
“Rex and I are best friends. We get along. We have the same likes, dislikes. We’re foodies. We love to cook. We were wanting to be cowboys and cowgirls, but then we got into the entertainment business instead. So everything has worked out great for Rex and me,” said McEntire to the publication.
In addition, McEntire said she believed she and Linn have improved each other.
“Rex brings out the little girl in me. And I have fun. I’m dorky, I’m goofy. He is too. And we just laugh and we love to laugh. And we love each other. So that’s a lot of fun,” said McEntire during the Us Weekly interview.
McEntire, who has two ex-husbands, Charlie Battles and Narvel Blackstock, clarified that she isn’t in a hurry to marry Linn.
“I really don’t think it makes any difference to me at all. I’m fine with the way we are. If Rex ever wants to get married, then we’ll talk about it,” said McEntire.
