Reba McEntire Moved To Tears After Son Shelby’s Surprise For Her 70th Birthday

Reba McEntire just celebrated a huge milestone. The country legend turned 70 yesterday and spent the day on tour in Uncasville, Connecticut.
But thanks to a huge surprise pulled off by her family members, she wasn’t alone on her big day. Luckily, her daughter-in-law captured the whole thing on social media.
Reba’s son, Shelby Blackstock, and his wife Marissa had the perfect alibi for the grand surprise.

They even posted on Facebook that day that they were attending a baby shower in Chicago. However, they were actually on the way to Connecticut to give Reba the surprise of a lifetime.
Blackstock and his wife Marissa documented the whole surprise for Instagram starting as they walk off the plane and head to the concert venue. They even had special 70th birthday shirts to wear for the occasion. Marisssa and Brandon were able to take in the show, just out of Mom’s line of sight. Thank goodness for those bright stage lights, right?

After her show, Reba was greeted backstage by her tour mates and buddies with shouts of “Surprise! Happy birthday!” As she scans the room, she spots her family and has the melody of “Happy birthday, to you,” fills the room, Reba becomes emotional, unsuccessfully holding back tears of joy. When the song ends, she walks straight towards the camera to embrace her son. She tells him how she’d been bragging on him about being so honest and you can hear Shelby reply “my first lie.”
We think it was a lie we can all let slide. Happy 70th birthday, Reba!
