Ryan Seacrest slammed by ‘American Idol’ fans for ‘being a d–k’ to contestants
Ryan Seacrest is SLAMMED for ‘being such a d***’ while speaking to contestants on the newest episode of American Idol
He was not America’s favorite.
Ryan Seacrest was slammed by “American Idol” fans for being a “d–k” to a couple of the show’s competitors during Monday’s episode.
Seacrest was attacked by viewers in a viral Reddit thread after telling contestant Michael Williams that he might be going home following his performance of Selena Gomez’s “Lose You to Love Me.”
“You sang ‘Lose You to Love Me,’” said the host. “We might lose you tonight.”
The comment sparked an immediate backlash against the TV personality and mogul.
“‘We might lose you tonight’ was so nasty omg,” commented one Reddit user.
“Ryan not softening any blows lmao,” quipped another.
A third person simply stated that Seacrest’s comment was just “evil.”
Seacrest — who hosted “Idol” during the show’s original run from 2002 to 2016 — also faced backlash on Twitter for the way he reportedly manipulated singer Olivia Soli into believing she was in the show’s top 12 when she actually was not.
“Never understood why people like this guy,” slammed one angry tweeter.

“F–K how Ryan Seacrest told Oliva Soli that she wasn’t in the top 12. He made her believe she was in, we were ALL confused,” ranted another user. “THIS is why you need to just say ‘You’re in or your not in’ instead of this bitch ass trickery, OK? DAMN.”
The Post has reached out for comment from Seacrest, who recently made an “emotional” exit from daytime talker “Live With Kelly and Ryan” after six years alongside co-host Kelly Ripa.
Some users rushed to the 48-year-old’s defense, claiming he was doing an amazing job on the show.

One user claimed that Seacrest was keeping the show moving but “not at a breakneck speed,” which is why “he deserves his paycheck.”
“Hardest working man in television, imo,” stated another Reddit poster.
“You are truly a professional. No better host. We’ve never missed an episode of American Idol and you are one of the reasons,” gushed a Twitter user.

“Idol” is no stranger to fans lashing out over seemingly inappropriate behavior.
Judge Katy Perry, 38, has been taken to task numerous times by fans for making nasty comments about certain competitors.
On Sunday, the “I Kissed a Girl” singer was slammed for being “dismissive” of another contestant after one of her favorites had been eliminated.
Perry’s woes began earlier this month when she appeared to be “rude and condescending” to 25-year-old contestant Sara Beth Liebe.
Fans accused Perry of “mom shaming” her into eventually quitting the show.
The “California Gurls” singer was then accused of waging “psychological warfare” against two top 12 contestants and was also booed after critiquing an outfit worn by another singer.
