Ryan Seacrest’s future on Wheel of Fortune has become a hot topic, with fans speculating whether he is leaving the show. After officially stepping in as host in 2024, replacing longtime presenter Pat Sajak, rumors now suggest that Seacrest could be on his way out. With talk of his potential replacement circulating online, many are questioning if his tenure on the show will be short-lived.
So, is there any truth to these claims? Here’s what we know about Ryan Seacrest’s status on Wheel of Fortune.
Is Ryan Seacrest getting replaced on Wheel of Fortune?
There are no official reports confirming Ryan Seacrest’s departure from Wheel of Fortune.
The speculation began after a report from The US Sun report in December 2024 suggested that Maggie Sajak, daughter of former host Pat Sajak, might step in as the next host. Since 2021, she has been a social media correspondent, gaining traction for the show through social media sites. However, the reports revealed that if Seacrest didn’t manage to sign a new contract with the show, Maggie might step up to fulfill the hosting duties. However, neither Seacrest nor the show’s producers have commented on this claim.
The rumors intensified in January 2025, when another unverified claim suggested that Pat Sajak himself could return as host. Sajak, who had hosted the show since 1981, officially stepped down in 2024. He announced his retirement through X (formerly Twitter.)

A source told Radar Online that Sajak allegedly has intentions of rejoining the popular game show, where he received massive support and love throughout the years. The source made a shocking revelation, claiming, “The truth is he never wanted to leave in the first place, they forced his hand, and now he wants his old job back.”
The source also reveals that though Seacrest might have a “multiyear” deal, he might not be able to stick around for a long time. As a result, Sajak will be “waiting in the wings to take over.” However, there is no official confirmation of these ongoing rumors.
