The hit quiz show has been on the air since 1964, and folks continue to tune in for new episodes every weekday on primetime television. Various spinoffs have launched since the first episode, including Celebrity Jeopardy!, Jeopardy! Masters and Pop Culture Jeopardy! (which exclusively streams on Amazon Prime Video). Still, as of January 2025, fans who are looking to watch new and old episodes of the original series need either a TV or a cable package in order to so. Luckily, that is finally changing this year.
Jeopardy! showrunner Michael Davies revealed a major update on streaming the show when speaking with Rolling Stone for an article published on January 7. According to the story, “Sony has secured the ability to sell the next-day streaming rights for the main show starting in the fall.”
Michael also cited research showing that 14% of Jeopardy! viewers are watching episodes illegally uploaded to YouTube. With that in mind, he explained that Jeopardy! recognizes the need to extend its reach in this day and age.

“To protect Jeopardy!, we have to expand,” he told the outlet. “We can’t just leave it exactly where it is. We mustn’t change the format; we must continue to go back to the values … put into the program. But we have to expand or it’s going to be in trouble.”
