[SO SAD] A ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ Star Just Got a Role on ‘Sheriff Country’ — So He Is Leaving the Sitcom
A ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ Star Just Got a Role on ‘Sheriff Country’ — Is He Leaving the Sitcom? Showrunner Weighs In

The Season 1 finale of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has finally aired, and it introduces a new character, Scott, played by Christopher Gorham. With Season 2 already greenlit, there are concerns about whether a different actor will play this character given Gorham’s commitments on another major CBS show. However, showrunner Steve Holland reveals that it shouldn’t be an issue and that it’s possible to make things work.
Holland said in a recent interview with TVLine that despite Gorham’s latest role in the CBS series Sheriff Country, it is still possible for him to play his Georgie & Mandy character. Holland reveals that the Georgie & Mandy team have no intention of recasting, nor do they want to, and since the same network produces both shows, it is possible to work something out with the Sheriff Country team. However, due to the other show being set out in the country, it might pose a challenge.
“We don’t want to recast. We love Chris. That’s a CBS show as well, so our hope is that we can work it out with their production team when we need him, and we can get ahead. One of the benefits of that show being single camera is he probably won’t be shooting every day. Obviously, it’s out of the country, which makes it a little tricky, but we’re pretty confident we can work it out.”
Despite what Holland has said, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has recast one of the his characters before. In Young Sheldon, Connor McAllister was originally portrayed by Joseph Apollonio. But by the time Georgie & Mandy was greenlit, he was recast and is now played by Australian actor Dougie Baldwin.
What Do We Know About Season 2 of ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’?

Season 2 of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage was greenlit in February 2025. Season 1 received praise from fans and critics alike, earning a high 89% critics score and a 64% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. It also received a complete Season order and generated huge viewership numbers on CBS.
The release date of Season 2 has yet to be revealed. However, Holland teased what’s to expect for the show’s next installment, stating that Georgie’s (Montana Jordan) and Mandy’s (Emily Osment) new jobs will play a role in the future challenges that await this young couple.
