While recent photos of the pair kissing on a yacht went viral, sources claim that the former Canadian prime minister sees the relationship as casual. At the same time, Perry is reportedly hoping for more.

As per Star magazine’s exclusive report, sources on Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau’s sides are painting uneven pictures about their romance. A source told the tabloid that Perry is “totally smitten” with the politician. However, Trudeau, though charismatic and attentive, is not looking to settle down, with a source claiming, “Nobody in his world thinks this is more than a glorified fling.”
Moreover, the Canadian politician’s insiders believe he is in a different headspace since his 2023 divorce from Sophie Grégoire Trudeau. A source told Star, “[Trudeau] has been very open with friends that he needs to get out there and sow his oats for a while, so the notion that he’d be pulled into something serious with Katy is pretty laughable.” Besides, people close to him have also described it as “a bit of a midlife crisis.”
On the other hand, sources said Perry was hoping for a deeper connection, because she “tends to get hot and heavy very quickly.” Moreover, she believes that the romance “has all the potential for being the real deal.” Naturally, this scares her friends, who think that “she’s destined for a broken heart.”
The buzz around Perry and Trudeau began in July, soon after her and Orlando Bloom’s breakup made headlines. Perry and Trudeau’s early sightings in Montreal and at one of the pop star’s shows fueled the rumors. Moreover, the yacht pictures off Santa Barbara in October sent the story into overdrive. Though insiders claim there is a mismatch between the two, neither Trudeau nor Perry has addressed their romance publicly.
