‘The Price Is Right’ Model Hails Drew Carey for doing AN EXTRAODINARY that few hosts could achieve

‘The Price Is Right’ Model Hails Drew Carey for Breaking TV Barriers
The American comedian also seems to be more relaxed and friendly, compared to the previous host, as he makes more of an effort to chat with the stars and makes them feel at ease. Carey has also incorporated special themed episodes like “Big Money Week” and “Dream Car Week.” Another major change the host incorporated was diversity in the models, ensuring all genders, races, and body types were celebrated equally on the show. Not only did he incorporate a variety of models, but he changed the stigmas around women models with this simple, yet effective strategy.
‘The Price Is Right’ Featured a Pregnant Model
Over the years, the entertainment industry has certainly come a long way from body-shaming and negative stigmas surrounding women’s bodies. However, it takes moments like the one that occurred over a decade ago in The Price Is Right to change these stigmas. About 16 years ago, Drew did the unthinkable. Gwendolyn Osborne was a model on the show from 2005 to 2017. Around 2009, she became pregnant with her son, Malloy.

She “putt” Drew Carey in his place.
Drew Carey and Gwendolyn “Changed History”
It’s been 16 years later and Gwendolyn hasn’t forgotten the kind acts Drew offered her during one of the most uncomfortable times of her life. Gwendolyn worried about how her pregnancy would affect her image, career and place within The Price Is Right family, but she had nothing to worry about. In 2025, Gwendolyn shared with the Daily Express just how grateful she was for the encouragement and support she received from Drew.
She even went as far as saying that Drew’s actions “changed the history of television.” Gwendolyn claimed Drew was instantly supportive and that support made her realize that with the right community, mothers everywhere could be celebrated for being hardworking moms. Drew’s constant and infectious encouragement gave her the confidence to keep pushing through drama that occurred behind the scenes and to move up in the industry. Even better, Drew continued to celebrate the pregnant and mom models throughout the years, including welcoming back Manuela Arbelaez after she gave birth too.
