The show shared a first look promo at the upcoming installment.
The Voice also introduced a brand-new rule for the show, called the “Carson Callback.”
The Voice season 28 is almost here … and it comes with a twist no one ever saw coming.
The latest installment of the NBC series is premiering on Monday, September 22, 2025 at 8 p.m. ET, and folks are eager to see Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, Niall Horan, and Snoop Dogg look for the best up-and-coming musicians in the industry. But while the competition has primarily been free rein for the coaches and eventually viewers to choose, there’s one person who’s never had the chance to speak up about who makes it through each week … until now.
As fans discovered in a promo posted on Instagram on September 3, host Carson Daly now has a chance to throw his own opinion into the mix. And as for how he’ll do that, it comes in a new rule the show teased, called the “Carson Callback.”
“Sometimes I see great singers fall through the cracks,” Carson stated in the clip. “And I’ve never been able to do anything about it — until now.”
When fans saw the sneak peek of what Carson may be up to this season on The Voice, they immediately bombarded the comments with words of excitement.
“Wait … Carson has its own red button 😮 wow!!” one person exclaimed. “CARSON CALLBACK! That’s iconic!! @carsondaly,” another penned. “Carson callback!! That’s so awesome!! This season is going to be epic!! 🔥❤️,” a different follower added.
Now, what exactly is this “Carson Callback” The Voice seemingly teased for season 28? While it’s unclear how this will affect the show, a report from NBC Insider writes this new rule gives him the chance to “call back” an artist who may have not made it far in the competition. And even though we don’t know when the “Carson Callback” will be in play, it sure adds a twist that’ll impact the show moving forward.
Can we see this new element in action soon, please?
