‘The Voice’ Season 27 Dropped a Major “Plot Twist” That Changes Everything Ahead of the Live Shows
The NBC series is heading to the live shows … possibly with more singers than folks expected.

We’re so close to finding out the winner of The Voice season 27 … but it looks like the show has one more surprise up its sleeve!
The hit NBC series is heading into the live shows on May 12, and it’s been some time since The Voice dropped a bombshell for contestants and coaches alike. Well, host Carson Daly decided on the May 5 episode that now would be a good time to share a massive plot twist that’ll affect the rest of the season.
Looking at season 27 coaches Kelsea Ballerini, Adam Levine, Michael Bublé and John Legend, Carson dropped the bombshell about a new rule ahead of the live shows called the “Super Save.” While the upcoming episode is supposed to only have the Top 8 compete, Carson shared that each coach now has the opportunity to bring one more artist with them to the final stage of the competition. Meaning: instead of just eight hopefuls singing on the upcoming May 12 episode, there will now be 12 performers hoping to gain votes from audiences in-studio and at home.
“We’ve always intended to keep the best artists on this show for the longest amount of time,” Carson teased to the quartet, per NBC Insider. “We’re going to allow each of you to bring back one more artist for the Top 8 live shows … the super-save is on.”

Upon hearing this incredible news, it didn’t take long before John, Michael and Kelsea voiced their immense surprise about what’s to come.
“Have you realized the stress you unnecessarily put on us?” John responded in shock. “They didn’t tell me I was going to be able to pick three all along!”
“How did you keep this secret?” Michael exclaimed.
“I’m overstimulated,” Kelsea added. “We love a good plot twist.”

Now, as of right now, folks have the opportunity to see Adam David, Jadyn Cree, Renso, Bryson Battle, Iris Herrera, Alanna Lynise, Lucia Flores-Wiseman and Kolby Cordall all try to become the next winner of The Voice. But after this unexpected move, we’ll have to tune in and see if any of our past favorite contestants will be back for one final shot at music stardom!
BTW, it looks like the coaches are excited to get more time with some past artists they had to say goodbye to. “[It’s] pretty awesome we get to do this,” Adam noted. “I love giving someone another opportunity.”
Well, we’ll be sure to keep an eye out for those familiar faces!
