The Voice season 28 is halfway through airing new episodes on NBC.
The series announced Joe Walsh of the Eagles and Zac Brown from the Zac Brown Band will be Mega Mentors during the Knockout Rounds of The Voice season 28.
The singers also expressed their thoughts about being part of The Voice in this manner.
The Voice is already halfway through season 28, but there’s still lots of excitement—including a major twist—to come.
As new episodes air every Monday and Tuesday night, fans are eager to see Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Michael Bublé, and Snoop Dogg mentor the latest batch of artists looking to make it big in music. Well, it looks like they won’t be alone for the Knockout Rounds (which sees the coaches putting three of their team members against one another), as The Voice announced that two more well-known musicians are slated to be this season’s Mega Mentors for this round of competition.
As NBC Insider revealed on October 20, guitarist Joe Walsh from the Eagles and Zac Brown from Zac Brown Band are slated to help out the coaches for this moment on The Voice season 28. What’s more, Joe will assist Team Reba and Team Niall, while Zac will help out Team Michael and Team Snoop.
“Please welcome our newest Mega Mentor, the one and only Joe Walsh!” the show shared in a joint Instagram post with Joe just days later on October 24.
As soon as fans discovered Joe and Zac will be Mega Mentors for The Voice season 28, they had so much to say about this new development.
“Can’t WAITTTT!! 👏,” one person screamed in the comments. “I can’t tell you how excited I am for this. Maybe slightly more than Niall, but only by a little bit. 🥰💜,” another declared, referencing Niall’s love for the Eagles. “Ohhh this is so awesome! I have got to watch this! ❤️❤️❤️,” a different follower added.
For those unfamiliar with Joe and Zac, here’s a quick look at their careers: Joe Walsh played guitar for the Eagles and penned hits in the 1970’s like “Walk Away,” “Life in the Fast Lane,” and “Rocky Mountain Way.” He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
Zac Brown has been in the music industry since making it big in 2008. A three-time Grammy award winner, he has also collaborated over the years with multiple Voice coaches! He released the single “Let It Run” with Snoop in July 2025, while he collaborated with Blake Shelton on the single “Out in the Middle” in 2023.
What’s more, Zac also expressed his gratitude for joining The Voice in this manner on Instagram.
“Honored to be a Mega Mentor on @nbcthevoice,” he wrote. “Music changed my life and now I get to help light that spark for someone else. Let’s go!”
Looks like we have something to look forward to when we tune in for this one!
