‘The Voice’ Star Kelsea Ballerini Falls off Stage During Toronto Show
On Sunday, April 13, Thomas Rhett was not the only country singer to take a spill during a show. In addition to Rhett’s ankle roll at Bridgestone Arena, Kelsea Ballerini also took quite a fall during her recent show in Toronto. While Ballerini’s fall looked bad, she is expected to be more than okay, but the world of country music is still looking out for her.
Ballerini’s fall transpired on Sunday, April 13, at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena during a cover of Garth Brooks’ hit single, “Friends in Low Places.” The cover was the second-to-last song before her encore, and during the cover, Ballerini fell at a fairly appropriate time, as she dropped right as the final chorus of the single began.
Like a true performer, The Voice star recovered like a professional and continued her performance. Despite her shrugging off the incident like nothing transpired, fans and the general world of country music still reacted to the incident in a humorous and thoughtful manner.

Kelsea Ballerini’s fall seemingly comes as a result of an elaborate stage setup full of flashing lights and rising and falling stages. Thanks to the plethora of moving bells and whistles, when Ballerini went to step back, she seemingly forgot the stage had raised. Consequently, the country singer fell about a foot off the ground and landed straight on her butt.

Like anyone would do in this situation, Kelsea Ballerini acknowledged the incident and poked fun at it as well. Following the crash, Ballerini stated, “I’m going to have a nice little bruise to go home with.” Additionally, Ballerini also took to Instagram and wrote, “And just like that, tonight is the last show. i don’t have the words quite yet, but while i find them, just thank you.”
In one of the TikTok posts capturing Ballerini’s fall, one user wrote, “She had the best sense of humour about it. Such a great show.” Another user stated, “That tailbone bruise is gonna be a six to nine month heal tho.”
Regarding the latter statement, Ballerini will probably not have that long of a recovery. However, she will have an optimal amount of time to recover. As of now, Ballerini’s touring schedule is fairly minimal, given that her only scheduled date in the near future is one show at CMA Fest in June of 2025.
