“The Voice” Under Fire: Contestant Publicly Calls Out Show’s “Ridiculous Actions” in Blistering IG Post.
‘The Voice’ Contestant Was “Heartbroken” Over Elimination Edit: “Hard Not To Feel Invisible”
The Voice is inching closer to crowning a season 27 winner as the Knockout Rounds continue on Monday, April 14. With just a handful of artists remaining, everyone is feeling the heat as the Playoff Rounds draw near. However, one eliminated contestant says she was left feeling “invisible” after the show reduced her last two performances down to a montage.

Team Kelsea Member Is “Heartbroken” Over Her Edit
Page Mackenzie gave it her all during the second round of Knockouts, belting Shania Twain’s “You’re Still The One.” However, coach Kelsea Ballerini ultimately selected Alanna Lynise to move on to the next phase, ending Mackenzie’s time on The Voice.
Later, Mackenzie shared her post-elimination emotions in a social media post. And the 32-year-old Charleston native was understandably devastated, although not for the reasons you might think. In an April 7 Instagram post, she lamented that the episode’s editing reduced her entire practice and performance into a brief montage. Viewers never heard a word of Mackenzie’s performance.
“I sang while I was sick, tired and run down, but determined,” she wrote. “I gave it everything I had & I was proud of what I left on that stage. But it wasn’t shown. Just a few seconds cut into a montage.”
After the same thing happened with Mackenzie’s first-round Knockout performance, the country singer said it was “hard not to feel invisible.” She further pointed out that she wasn’t the only artist to receive such treatment from the show.
“I’m not angry—but I am disappointed,” Mackenzie concluded. “These artists deserve to be seen & heard. & while the show may not have given them that, we still can.”

‘The Voice’ Coach Responds: “I See You Sister”
As viewers, we only see a fraction of the work The Voice artists put in each week. So, it’s understandably heartbreaking to feel like that work has been devalued.
Support came pouring in for Mackenzie after her vulnerable post, including from one familiar face.
“i see you sister,” Kelsea Ballerini wrote. “i’m so sorry that happened…im gutted for you too. i remember how incredible that performance was in the room and it deserves to be shown.”
She continued, “yes to wine and couch time when we’re both home in nashville. always on your team.”
Mackenzie responded that she would “get the Cabernet ready.”
“thank you for everything… thank you from the bottom of my heart,” she wrote.
