Uncertainty Looms Over “The Kelly Clarkson Show” That Makes Fans Feel Worry.
Uncertainty Looms Over “The Kelly Clarkson Show” as Staff Watch for Next Moves
Staffers at “The Kelly Clarkson Show” are reportedly expressing uncertainty about the show’s future as Clarkson, 43, debates her next steps, per Page Six.
According to The Daily Mail, some team members fear that the singer and talk show host may choose to leave once her current contract expires in 2026. “Not feeling too stable,” the producer admitted. “She could bolt at any time. Where does that leave me?”
Despite the concerns, the producer emphasized that “everyone loves Kelly” and described her as “a wonderful person.” They added, “I would understand if she wanted to leave because she’s unhappy. She should move on.”
Considering Family, Music, and the Next Chapter

Reports surfaced earlier this year that Clarkson, a mother of two, has been considering stepping away from the daily demands of her Emmy-winning show. Sources told Page Six in April that Clarkson’s top priority remains her children — daughter River Rose, 10, and son Remy, 8.
“Kelly’s No. 1 priority is her children, and they always will be,” the industry insider shared. “The show is grueling. It’s a whole lot of work, and I hear that Kelly would like to spend more time down South,” referring to her hometown of Fort Worth, Texas.
Before relocating to New York City for the show, Clarkson lived in Encino, California, and Montana with her children and now-ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.
In addition to family considerations, the singer is preparing to launch her ninth studio album and kick off a Las Vegas residency this summer — both seen as key factors in shaping her next professional moves.
NBC Eyes the Future and Possible Successors
While NBC executives have reportedly been eager to keep Clarkson on board, insiders say the network is now developing a list of possible successors, should she decide to step away.
One name circulating is former “Today” show host Hoda Kotb, who left the morning show in January after 26 years to focus on her daughters. “Maybe Hoda would be a better boss,” the production insider speculated. “I know she’s universally beloved and respected by her former coworkers.”
According to a source quoted by The Post, “There’s a long list of names, and Hoda is part of that list. NBC never wanted Hoda to leave. The question is, would Hoda want to do it?”
Although speculation swirls, no official decisions have been confirmed, and representatives for Clarkson and the show have yet to comment.
Despite the uncertainty, “The Kelly Clarkson Show” remains a daytime success, averaging 1.2 million viewers per day during the 2024–2025 season and earning an impressive 22 Daytime Emmy Awards to date.
