Summer is flying by, but for fans of The Voice, that means season 28 is getting closer by the minute.
NBC announced in May that the long-running singing competition would return for another installment after season 27 saw coach Michael Bublé emerge victorious with artist Adam David.
“There’s no losing when you get to be on this show,” Bublé, who is one of the coaches returning in season 28, told Entertainment Tonight after his win. “I got to work with the most beautiful artists, and I sat beside my favorite musicians on the planet. People like John Legend and Adam Levine and Kelsea Ballerini, who were gracious and humble and funny and smart and are so talented, and so there was not a day that I didn’t feel like I was winning.”
Below, Us Weekly shares everything fans need to know about the upcoming season, including when it begins, who’s on the coaching panel and more:
When Does ‘The Voice’ Season 28 Premiere?
The Voice season 28 is slated to start airing sometime in September, although an exact premiere date has not been announced. It is expected to return to its usual Monday night at 8 p.m. ET time slot, with a possible return to its Tuesday night at 8 or 9 p.m. ET slot.
Who Are the Coaches on ‘The Voice’ Season 28?
Snoop Dogg was the first coach to be announced as part of the coaching lineup for season 28. His involvement came as part of a multiyear deal with NBCUniversal alongside his production company, Death Row Pictures, Deadline reported in April.
“Not everyone has the courage and vision to see what Death Row Pictures can bring to the table, but Donna [Langley] and the NBCUniversal team have always understood, which is why I am proud to call NBCUniversal my new home,” the rapper said in a statement at the time. “The Dogg has officially moved into the neighborhood, ya dig?”

NBCUniversal Entertainment & Studios Chairman Donna Langley added, “Audiences around the world love Snoop and connect with his unparalleled showmanship and artistry. Those of us lucky enough to be in his orbit also know his incredible business acumen, endlessly creative spirit and the unapologetic authenticity that he brings to every project. There’s only one Snoop, and we’re so excited for him to join our unbelievable roster of creative partners.”
Snoop previously made his debut as a coach on The Voice in season 26 and expressed interest in returning.
“It’s been a great experience for me,” he told host Carson Daly at the end of his inaugural season. “I didn’t know what I was signing on to, but I do know it feels like I could come back and do it again.”
The remaining three coaches were announced the following month.
“SNOOP. REBA. NIALL. BUBLÉ. Let us know which team you will be on this fall!” a post on The Voice’s official Instagram page read, revealing that Snoop would be joined by returning coaches Reba McEntire, Niall Horan and Bublé.
Bublé also made his debut in season 26 and won with Sofronio Vasquez. Meanwhile, McEntire served as a coach in seasons 24, 25 and 26. She won season 25 with Asher HaVon. Horan’s first and only time coaching was in season 23, when he won with Gina Miles.
