Vanna White will be leaving behind some big shoes to fill when she eventually bids farewell to Wheel of Fortune.
Though the longtime TV presenter hasn’t hinted at any plans to leave the beloved game show anytime soon, she was recently asked in an interview about who her future successor might be and what advice she would give them before taking on the iconic role.
During a conversation with Forbes for this year’s edition of their annual 50 Over 50 list, White, 68, was asked if she can envision someone taking over her WOF role once she leaves, telling the outlet she’s “not sure” about the possibility of a successor for her role, though she thinks it “should be up to the audience.”
White did, however, have a clear response when asked about advice she would pass on to whoever might replace her one day, telling them, “Be yourself, and know the entire alphabet!”

White has been turning letters on the WOF stage since 1982 when she took over for Susan Stafford, just one year after Pat Sajak replaced the show’s original host, Chuck Woolery.
White and Sajak would go on to host the show together for over 40 years, before Sajak retired in 2024 and was replaced by White’s current co-host, Ryan Seacrest.
