Daytime TV’s Big Changes: What’s New, What’s Returning & What’s Cancelled

TVLine is taking stock of every major daytime TV shake-up this fall.

From the cancellation of five syndicated series — including a pair of beloved game shows — to Extra‘s shiny new host, viewers can expect quite a bit of change in the final few months of 2025.

There’s also a new anchor at the helm of veteran newsmagazine Inside Edition, and a new judge presiding over Hot Bench. Plus, viewers will be able to experience Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune like never before!

Dish Nation Cancelled

Dish Nation has been cancelled after 13 seasons in syndication, and will not return to local stations during the 2025-26 season.

Person Place or Thing Cancelled

Daytime Emmys Nominations List

The Daytime Emmys are on the move: The annual ceremony, which traditionally was held in June, has been moved to fall, and will now be held on Friday, Oct. 17; for a complete list of nominees, click here.

Extra TV Show Host Derek Hough

Extra has tapped Derek Hough (Dancing With the Stars) to replace Billy Bush as host of the syndicated entertainment news show.

Hough joins senior correspondent/weekend host Mona Kosar Abdi, and longtime correspondent Terri Seymour for Season 32.

Hot Bench New Judge

Hot Bench is saying goodbye to its longest-serving judge, Michael Corriero, as he hangs up his gavel and robe. Beginning with Season 12, he’ll be succeeded by trial attorney Daniel Mentzer.

Additionally, Gina Findley will replace Sonia Montejano as bailiff.

Inside Edition Host Eva Pilgrim

GMA3 co-anchor Eva Pilgrim will be succeed Deborah Norville as anchor of Inside Edition, beginning with Season 38 this fall.

Former Inside Edition Host Deborah Norville

Former Inside Edition anchor Deborah Norville will host Perfect Line, a new syndicated game show launching this fall. In each episode, “contestants will play a series of games where they test their knowledge by arranging events, items or people in the correct order to create ‘the perfect line,’” per Deadline. “In each round, contestants are eliminated, leaving the last person standing to play the final round for a grand prize.”

Scrambled Up Game Show

Comedian/actor Michael Yo will host Scrambled Up, a new syndicated game show launching this fall. In each episode, “four contestants solve jumbled-up words and phrases that unscramble before their eyes. As the tiles unscramble, the clues get easier,” according to Deadline. “The first player to buzz in with the right answer has a shot at walking away with the $10,000 grand prize.”

Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune

Beginning this fall, new episodes of Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune will be available to cord-cutters: Sony Pictures Television has struck multi-year, co-exclusive, national next-day streaming licensing deals with Peacock, Hulu, and Hulu on Disney+ in the U.S., marking the first time that in-season syndicated episodes will be accessible on streaming platforms.
