Wheel of Fortune: Host falls as contestant celebrates win
Ryan Seacrest has spoken out about his recent altercation with a contestant on Wheel of Fortune.
This week, a contestant had the game show host taken back by their impressive $78,000 win. However, it was nothing compared to the shock he experienced after a player rammed into him and pushed him over.
After being neck and neck with two other contestants, California native Daniel Thomas came out on top with a total prize fund of $31,950, which sent him into the final round.
During the last game, he was able to add $40,000 to his earnings. Once his victory set in, he started jumping up and down to celebrate the win.
Seacrest joined Thomas’ celebration as he shouted: “You won.”

This prompted the contestant to give the host a big hug and attempt to jump into his arms. This caused Seacrest to fall backwards onto the floor.
Thomas quickly made sure he was okay and although the host said he was “fine” and “okay,” he was seen grabbing his back, appearing to have hurt himself. He tried to shake off the pain but his pain was still noticeable to the audience.
On Instagram, one wrote: “Hoping he is ok! I saw it last night!”
Another pointed out: “Poor Ryan people always bear huggin him pickin him up then not making sure he’s balanced when they put him back down lol guess he should be used to it. Its been happening for 20 yrs on Idol lol,” referencing his hosting spot at American Idol.
Luckily, Seacrest assured fans through a Youtube video that he “loved it.”
