Celebrity Wheel of Fortune is officially returning for another season, with Ryan Seacrest taking over hosting duties. Celebrity Wheel of Fortune Season 6 is set to premiere on September 26, 2025. Since Pat Sajak’s final season of the show was delayed from fall 2024 to spring 2025, this gives viewers the chance to enjoy the competition twice this year. Seacrest will, of course, be joined by longtime Wheel of Fortune host Vanna White for the latest installment in the celebrity version of the game show.

While ABC announced the renewal of the series in May 2025, it wasn’t until recently that the network confirmed Seacrest as the host. The lineup for Celebrity Wheel of Fortune Season 6 has not been announced yet. However, contestants will have the chance to win up to $1 million for their chosen charity. Similar to past seasons of the show, the lineup is expected to include a mix of comedians, actors, musicians, and athletes.

The news comes shortly after Seacrest ended his first season of Wheel of Fortune on a high note on June 6, 2025. Despite struggling to find its footing initially, the show averaged 7.39 million viewers and saw an increase of 74,000 viewers compared to the previous year. As reported by Variety, Wheel of Fortune was the only syndicated game show to post growth, and one of only two syndicated series to increase from year to year.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Seacrest shared how he handled the responsibility of hosting one of the most iconic game shows of all time. The TV presenter added that he grew up watching Wheel of Fortune. Seacrest recalled mowing lawns in his hometown to save money and buy a Zenith TV for the kitchen so his family could watch the game show together.

Despite knowing the show inside out, though, hosting it requires a lot more preparation than he thought. The American Idol presenter revealed that he made flashcards for himself and even had a travel-sized wheel created for him to practice with before filming. Seacrest noted that the conversation about him taking over had been initiated years before it actually happened. “I expressed interest even back then,” claimed Seacrest. While talking about why he wanted to host the show, he admitted that he admired Sajak and White’s legacy and only wanted to take it forward.

Seacrest confessed that, as great as his experience has been, it isn’t all smooth sailing. “It can get physical,” Seacrest revealed while talking about how excited certain guests are. The host joked that many of them take the liberty to throw him around, but he understands that it’s all because of the high-energy environment. While talking about the legacy of Wheel of Fortune, the host believes that the show has remained a staple in American homes because of its unchanging simplicity. “It’s a safe place for fun,” he added.

Episodes of Wheel of Fortune are available to stream on Hulu and Peacock.
