Fans who attended tapings of The Price Is Right discovered a brand-new update about Mama Mai directly from announcer George Gray himself. The Price Is Right has stayed pretty much the same over the years, aside from Drew Carey succeeding Bob Barker as host.
One of the things that fans can always count on is George giving a shoutout to his mother at the top of every episode because she’s always watching. The announcer has been saying her name on the air every day since 2014.

A couple fans replied to give some new insight after attending some tapings of The Price Is Right. When Bibliophiles_Unite was at the studio, they wore a shirt that said, “Hi Mama Mai.” George ended up coming over to talk to the fan after noticing the shirt. “He mentioned that [Mama Mai] watches every day and if I recall correctly he said she sends him a pic from his intro with an emoji.”
Spiritual-Subject-27 replied to that comment to reveal George revealed a similar update when they attended a recent taping. “His mom takes a picture of every episode and sends it to him,” they said. Elsewhere in the Reddid thread, Food_Tastes_Good came up with a nice idea so fans can see Mama Mai every day, which would involve a box in the corner of screen that livestreams George’s mother “and her reaction to everything on the show.” Sometimes, fans will even give her a shoutout while spinning the wheel, as noted by other fans on Reddit.

Back in 2022, George said he was impressed by how much his tiny mother could eat during breakfast. In 2020, Mama Mai posed for a photo outside with a garden behind her. According to George’s Instagram updates, his mother’s birthday is on February 27. She turned 89 in 2025.
