When Does ‘The Price Is Right’ Return With New Episodes?

The Price Is Right aired a special July 4 episode dedicated to first responders to the California wildfires of 2025. That was the last episode for a while from the beloved game show, which is also daytime TV’s top-rated daytime series. So, when will one of audience’s favorite games return with new episodes?

It was a milestone year for the hit series as it celebrated the 10,000th episode of The Price Is Right on February 26, 2025, on CBS. It was part of The Price Is Right Season 53, which premiered on September 23, 2024, and continued through June 27, with the July 4 bonus episode tacked onto the end of the season last week. The show is now on a summer vacation, but it will come back later this year.

    4/11/2025

When does The Price Is Right return?

The Price Is Right Season 54 will likely premiere in September 2025, with The Price Is Right at Night slated to air on Wednesdays at 9/8c starting in January 2026 (see the CBS fall 2025 schedule here).

An exact premiere date will be announced at a later time, but the game show has premiered at the end of September for several years in a row now. Given that episodes air daily on CBS, expect a Monday premiere date for its return. We’d predict that Season 54 will kick off on either Monday, September 22, or Monday, September 29. It will likely air in its usual time slot of 11a/10c on weekday mornings.

When Does 'The Price Is Right' Return With New Season 52 Episodes?

Where can I watch episodes of The Price Is Right?

While you wait for the return, past episodes of The Price Is Right — including installments from Season 53 — can be streamed on Paramount+. There are always Price Is Right reruns airing somewhere on TV throughout the year, so Drew Carey and late former host Bob Barker are never too far.

‘Shifting Gears’ Renewed For Season 2 By ABC; ‘Doctor Odyssey’ Remains On The Bubble

ABC has renewed freshman comedy series Shifting Gears, starring Tim Allen and Kat Dennings, for a second season. According to sources, the pickup is for 10 episodes, which is not atypical for a series that has launched in midseason and matches the sitcom’s Season 1 order.

Shifting Gears was one of two ABC series on the bubble this spring, along with fellow freshman Doctor Odyssey. The drama starring Joshua Jackson and Don Johnson now remains the only ABC scripted series in limbo as the network today also renewed — as expected — veterans Grey’s Anatomy, 9-1-1, The Rookie as well as third-year drama Will Trent, which join previously picked up High Potential and Abbott Elementary.

Marking the return to ABC of Last Man Standing and Home Improvement star Allen, Shifting Gears got off to a red-hot start, with the pilot episode logging almost 17M cross-platform viewers over its first week for ABC’s biggest new series launch in more than six years. it was the steady ratings decline, 40% in linear viewership and 50% in adults 18-49 over its 10-episode run, that sent the series to the bubble.

In the end, the potent season average numbers, including a multi-platform 18-49 rating that ranks Shifting Gears #5 among ABC’s scripted series this season, coupled with the network’s faith in the sitcom prowess of stars Allen and Dennings and Allen’s longstanding relationship with Disney across movies, linear TV and streaming, tipped the scale in the show’s favor.

As Deadline noted earlier this week, Shifting Gears‘ odds also likely were boosted by the fact that ABC has no comedy pilots this spring. With The Conners ending, the network would’ve gone down to a lone comedy series, Abbott Elementary, next fall, if the Tim Allen sitcom was not renewed. Additionally, midseason entries typically get more leeway and are given time to find an audience with a partial Season 2 pickup.

The renewal is a particularly good news for Shifting Gears fans as the comedy ended its first season on a cliffhanger. In an interview with Deadline, Dennings teased what viewers could expect in Season 2 and weighed on the notion that it is a red state show.

In addition to Allen and Dennings, the main cast of Shifting Gears includes Seann William Scott, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, Maxwell Simkins and Barrett Margolis. Allen executive produces alongside showrunner Michelle Nader, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Richard Baker, Rick Messina, John Pasquin, Jim Patterson, Bob Daily and John Amodeo. Dennings is a producer. The series was created by Mike Scully and Julie Thacker Scully who exited after the pilot.

Meanwhile, it may go down to the wire on Doctor Odyssey. With its slick production values and big stars, Ryan Murphy’s cruise ship medical drama is expensive to make, and it could go either way on the renewal front after an OK but not spectacular ratings run, I hear. Possibly with that in mind, the upcoming Season 1 finale has an ending that could serve as a series finale, sources said.

Number-crunching and conversations over what a Season 2 would look like creatively continue. Regardless of the outcome, Murphy, one of Disney’s top TV creators, is expected to have at least two series on ABC’s schedule next season with 9-1-1 and recently greenlighted spinoff 9-1-1: Nashville.

TV Ratings 2024-2025: ABC Dominates With ‘High Potential,’ ‘Shifting Gears,’ ‘9-1-1’ & More Hits

‘High Potential’ & ‘Shifting Gears’ Land Highest Ratings for New Shows in the 2024-2025 TV Season

ABC is staying on top, it seems, as Nielsen’s ratings for the September to May broadcast season covering 2024-2025 reveal the network helms the top five broadcast series, including the highest ratings for new comedies and dramas with Shifting Gears and High Potential.

Among the top five broadcast shows among Adults 18-49 in multiplatform rankings were High Potential with a 3.85 rating, Abbott Elementary with a 3.25 rating, The Rookie with  2.49 rating, Shifting Gears with a 2.39 rating, and 9-1-1 with a 2.38 rating.

Overall, the network owned seven of the top 20 shows among the demo, with the addition of Will Trent and Grey’s Anatomy, coming in with ratings of 1.64 and 1.62, respectively. Overall, ABC has the most highly-rated shows, followed by CBS with six, Fox with four, and NBC with three.

High Potential came in at number one in the new drama category, the Kaitlin Olson-led series more than doubling its closest new competitive drama, CBS’s popular Matlock, starring Kathy Bates, which ranks with a 1.75 rating. Meanwhile, Shifting Gears outpaced its closest competitor, CBS’s Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, which came in at a 1.79 rating.

ABC also claimed the top spot for a returning drama with The Rookie, beating CBS’s Tracker, which came in with a 2.15 rating. As for the top returning comedy, Abbott remains a favorite, edging out CBS’s other popular comedy, Ghosts.

In other words, ABC is keeping a hold on the lead, and such was the case with High Potential, which stood as the number one drama among total viewers, with 16.41 million, and number one new show among adults 18-49. The show’s streaming performance on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ also more than doubled the next highest competitive drama, Tracker.

The show grew by over 50 percent in Multiplatform+7 ratings through 35 days of viewing, and for the season, including encores, the show logged early 13 billion minutes-watched on linear and streaming platforms.

What do you think of these rating results? Weigh in on the comments section below, and stay tuned to find out which shows own the field as we head into the 2025-2026 season.

Reba McEntire and the rest of the cast of HAPPY’S PLACE Season 2 love jumping back into work after the show’s renewal in February.

“HAPPY’S PLACE Season 2, we’re in production now…and we’re just so glad to be back and get to work with each other; and it’s not work. It’s play,” McEntire said in a short behind the scenes video she posted on Instagram, adding in the caption, “Y’all ready for another round?”

Since receiving the greenlight to create the show, McEntire has poured her heart and soul into the project. Serving as her first mainstay role on a show since REBA ended in 2007, McEntire works to bring the same level of success to HAPPY’S PLACE as her self-titled show. She also welcomed back many of the actors who starred on REBA so audiences can enjoy seeing them together again, albeit in different roles.

“It’s a lot of fun,” HAPPY’S PLACE creator, Kevin Abbott, told TV Line. “We absolutely want to bring some of the old cast members on — and in very different roles than what they played on REBA. Steve [Howie] is our first one up, and we’re trying to figure out how to bring JoAnna [Garcia-Swisher] in. We only want to have the old cast in if we can really utilize them in a fun, impactful way.”

McEntire has also created the show to capture the state of TV when REBA was on air, making her show family-friendly and accessible for viewers of all ages so parents and kids can enjoy it together. A portion of Movieguide®’s review reads:

HAPPY’S PLACE emphasizes the value of family and includes strong references to Christianity, including Bobbie giving up her worries to God and a prayer at the end of the episode. While the show’s premise relies on an extramarital affair and drinking, both are chastised throughout the show. Though one joke relies on a politically correct comment about a character having fewer opportunities because she isn’t white, overall, the jokes are genuinely funny and make the series an entertaining watch. Furthermore, there is no nudity, violence, or foul language. Thus, Movieguide® finds the show worthwhile, though we advise caution for younger children.

Though HAPPY’S PLACE is yet to have a set release date for Season 2, fans can expect to see new episodes in NBC’s fall lineup on Fridays, though its exact time slot is still unknown.

‘Happy’s Place’: Which ‘Reba’ Favorite Should Guest Star Next? (POLL)

Happy’s Place Season 2 may not return to NBC until later this year, but filming for the upcoming chapter of Reba McEntire‘s comedy is already underway.

As teased in a recent Instagram post, McEntire is back on set with the ensemble behind this series, including Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Rex Linn, Pablo Castelblanco, and Tokala Black Elk. While the team is fast at work prepping episodes for Season 2, though, we can’t help but wonder which Reba favorites could turn up as guest stars.

Created by Kevin Abbott, Happy’s Place is no stranger to Reba crossover as two key stars play series regulars with McEntire and Peterman, and Season 1 boasted appearances from vets Steve Howey and Christopher Rich, but we can’t help but keep our fingers crossed for more in Season 2. Abbott previously served as an executive producer and writer on Reba, which makes him eager to welcome back familiar faces.

When we caught up with the showrunner around Season 1’s finale, Abbott said, “We definitely want to bring Joanna [Garcia Swisher] in. We’ve been talking to her. It’s a matter of timing for her.”

Whether this will be the case or not in Season 2 remains to be seen, but as we gear up for the next chapter, we can envision Howey possibly returning as well as Rich in their fun guest roles introduced in Season 1. As fans will recall, Howey, who played Van on Reba, stepped in to portray Danny, a man who wanted to host a holiday party for his coworkers at the titular bar. Meanwhile, Rich, who played Reba’s ex-husband Brock on the former series, appeared as Maverick, a tattoo artist.

As mentioned by Abbott, Joanna Garcia Swisher is in the running for a potential Season 2 guest spot, but we want to hear from you, which Reba star do you want to see as a guest on Happy’s Place in Season 2? Let us know in the reader poll and sound off in the comments section.

[VERY SAD] “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy!” Face Unexpected Headwinds!

‘Wheel of Fortune’ and ‘Jeopardy’ Legal Fight Intensifies as Sony Moves to Take Over Distribution Rights From CBS Amid Lawsuit

CBS counters to station partners that Sony’s letter a ‘false, inappropriate and ineffective’ strategy to control of profitable shows

Vanna White Ryan Seacrest Wheel of Fortune

    Sony Pictures Television

UPDATED with CBS statement and CBS’ contract with Nielsen

Sony Pictures TV aims to take over full distribution of “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy” as early as next week the studio battles CBS in a lawsuit over their longstanding partnership on the syndicated game show stalwarts.

Sony Pictures sent CBS a formal letter on the morning of Feb. 3 exerting that it will take over responsibility as early as next week for getting new episodes to the 200-plus TV stations around the country that carry the top-rated game shows. But CBS is fighting the move, creating a tug-of-war around the shows between Sony Pictures Television and CBS’ sales and distribution company.

Sony Pictures has also amended the lawsuit filed in October alleging that CBS’ owes Sony money from past distribution deals, and it claims that CBS has overstepped the boundaries of its distribution contract with licensing deals that it has set up in Australia and other overseas markets. Sony filed suit against CBS in Los Angeles Superior Court in October; CBS countersued in November.

“To facilitate an orderly transition of the distribution functions for the Shows, on January 27, 2025, Sony Pictures delivered to CBS the episodes of the Shows to air the week of February 3 through February 9,” the letter states. “We expect CBS to take all necessary steps to ensure that the episodes are properly delivered to broadcasters. Sony Pictures will begin delivery of episodes of the Shows to broadcasters starting with the episodes scheduled to air the week of February 10.”

Wheel of Fortune' and 'Jeopardy' Lawsuit: Why Sony is Suing CBS Over Iconic Shows - PopCulture.com

CBS responded in the wake of Sony’s move with a letter of its own to station affiliates of both shows, which include Disney and ABC’s three largest O&O stations in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. CBS flatly asserts to station operators that Sony has “no rights” to assume control of distribution.

“We are aware Sony has informed you that it has purported to assume the distribution functions for Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!, and that it has terminated CBS’s distribution arrangement.  This communication is false, inappropriate, and ineffective,” CBS said. “Sony has no rights under the distribution agreements to terminate them, and CBS remains the distributor for the Series, notwithstanding any communications from Sony to the contrary.  Any contention by Sony that it has reclaimed the distribution rights is subject to ongoing judicial proceedings, and CBS will be seeking immediate relief from the appropriate courts.  All business should continue in the usual course.”

Sony’s amended complaint slams CBS for ending its business contract with ratings provider Nielsen, which Sony asserts is hurting the profitability of “Wheel” and “Jeopardy” because the lack of ratings data is handicapping the show’s advertising sales. CBS and Nielsen part ways on Oct. 1 over a dispute about the high cost of Nielsen’s services and the expansion of alternate audience measurement options.

“Following the lapse of the Nielsen agreement, CBS has essentially operated blindly: Effectively fulfilling advertising sales obligations requires evaluation of rigorous, accurate ratings data on a daily or near-daily basis,” the Sony complaint states. “Agencies transacting with CBS are now also operating without ratings data needed to price advertising, heightening the risk that advertising for the Shows will be sold at rates completely divorced from the rates that the Shows could command if dependable ratings data were available. Sony Pictures continues to be harmed by this lack of data every day that passes in the scatter market, and the informational deficit under which CBS and agencies are operating will prove even more harmful come ‘Upfront’ sales, when the majority of advertising for the Shows is sold.”

Sony’s complaints asserts that CBS’ lack of Nielsen data to provide advertisers has cost “Wheel” and “Jeopardy” advertising commitments from Procter & Gamble, the consumer products giant that is historically one of TV’s top-spending marketers. Later on Feb. 3, CBS parent company Paramount Global unveiled a new agreement with Nielsen that restores the company’s access to ratings that remain the universal currency for most TV advertising deals.

Jeopardy!' & 'Wheel of Fortune' Embroiled in Messy Legal Feud Between Sony & CBS

In late October, after Sony’s initial suit was filed, CBS strongly defended its rights until a more than 40-year-old agreement struck by “Wheel” and “Jeopardy” creator Merv Griffin with King World Productions in 1982 and 1983. Sony acquired Merv Griffin Entertainment in 1994 while King World was scooped by CBS in 2000. CBS maintains Sony has no right to ‘terminate’ the terms of the original agreement.

“Our contract is clear that we hold the distribution rights to these series in perpetuity. We strongly refute any claims by Sony that we did not use our best efforts in distributing the programs or otherwise failed to abide by our obligations under the agreements. Sony’s claims are rooted in the fact they simply don’t like the deal the parties agreed to decades ago,” CBS said in a statement in October.

Disney’s ABC-owned stations could wind up caught in the crossfire. ABC-owned WABC-TV New York, KABC-TV Los Angeles and WLS-TV Chicago are among the top station affiliates of “Wheel” and “Jeopardy,” as the shows are sold in first-run syndication not via a network but to local TV stations on a market-by-market basis. Sony Pictures TV handles production of the episodes while CBS handles all syndication sales, national barter advertising sales, marketing and physical distribution matters.

Sony has asked CBS to provide copies all domestic and international licensing agreements related to the shows as well as all advertising contracts.

When Does Celebrity Wheel of Fortune Come Back?

Celebrity Wheel of Fortune was set to premiere on October 14, but sadly, the date has been pushed back considerably. The show will now air beginning mid-season — and it’s all due to football.

Celebrity Wheel of Fortune will now premiere in 2025, according to an October 11 press release from ABC. “Celebrity Wheel of FortunePress Your Luck and ABC News’ Scamanda will premiere in 2025,” ABC said in a press release shared with TVLine. ABC is adding “six Monday Night Football simulcasts to its previously announced schedule,” forcing the network to bump Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.

The statement explained: “ABC is a destination for marquee NFL programming including, as part of our new deal, Super Bowl 61 (February 2027), the first of two. The decision to add more simulcast games was made in conjunction with the NFL and is just for the 2024-25 season. This schedule leans into the cross-promotional opportunities maximizing the reach of NFL programming across the Disney ecosystem. ESPN has already aired four exclusive games during 2024 season and will have three additional exclusive games, with two in November and one in December. There are 25 Games on ESPN’s 2024 NFL Schedule.”

The statement added: “Furthermore, this move will give the ABC game shows Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and Press Your Luck a more consistent, weekly run in midseason when there are less preemptions (i.e. football, 2024 election).”

So far, there’s no firm date set for the premiere of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. Some of the episodes have already been filmed since it was expected to air in October 2024.

In June, Sajak announced he was leaving his hosting job at Wheel of Fortune but fans were thrilled that he would be on hand to give his final spin on the celebrity version. Ryan Seacrest took over hosting duties for Sajak beginning with Season 42 of the original game show.

The Celebrity Wheel of Fortune trailer, which was shared earlier this month on the show’s Instagram, has now been removed. In the video, Sajak, standing alongside Vanna White, said, “Get ready for an all-new season of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.” She noted, “Big names, big laughs, and big wins for charity.”

The post’s caption promised: “The stars are coming out for Pat’s final spin! See you October 14 for the season premiere of #CelebrityWheelOfFortune.”

Among the stars competing for $1 million to go to the charity of their choosing are: Rainn Wilson, Ellie Kemper, and Oscar Nuñez from The Office, Josh Gad, Justin Long, and Rachael Harris, who appeared on New Girl, and Veep stars Sam Richardson, Randall Park, and Matt Walsh. Tiffany Haddish, Regina Hall, Joe Manganiello, Katharine McPhee, Andrew Rannells, Pete Holmes, and Cameron Brink are also set to appear.

Wheel of Fortune fans have called Seacrest out several times over the last 10 months for perceived errors he made as the new host. From failing to recognize Sajak’s contribution during his first episode to errors in explaining game rules, viewers didn’t miss a chance to speak out. Despite all of that, ratings are great, and viewers are staying tuned in, per TV Insider.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Seacrest discussed taking over on Wheel of Fortune and shared a few surprising things.

“I have a lot fun with the job, but I take the responsibility very seriously,” Seacrest shared. “We all have memories of watching Wheel with our families. I mowed lawns growing up in Atlanta just to save money to buy a Zenith TV for the kitchen so we could watch Wheel during dinner!”

Keeping the long-running game show fun for viewers is a huge responsibility. Seacrest shared that WOF is special because it’s “simple” and “it’s never changed.”

What we weren’t expecting to hear is that Seacrest’s hiring was in the plan for some time. He admitted, “There were conversations — actually, years ago — about me doing this show, and I expressed interest even back then. When you look at what Pat and Vanna [White, co-host] have built over the years … they are your friends. What they’ve established is special. So that’s why I said yes.”

He also claimed that he prepped quite a bit ahead of his big Wheel of Fortune debut to make the transition smooth.

“It required a lot more prep than you’d think,” Seacrest revealed. “I made flashcards for myself and, when I could, logged in remotely to watch tape-days. About six months out, my producer built a little travel-friendly wheel for me so I could play in hotel conference rooms with random people.”

Season 43 of Wheel of Fortune is expected to premiere in September 2025, marking Seacrest’s second season as host.

It was part of The Price Is Right Season 53, which premiered on September 23, 2024, and continued through June 27, with the July 4 bonus episode tacked onto the end of the season last week. The show is now on a summer vacation, but it will come back later this year.
