Country Legend Reveals “WEIRD” Fan Mail He Got After Onstage Stroke

Country Legend Reveals “Weird” Fan Mail He Got After Onstage Stroke.

Ronnie McDowell is feeling the love after his onstage stroke. Weeks after his health scare, the country legend took to Facebook to share a video about the fan mail he’s received.

“Here lately I’ve been getting a lot of mail because of people sending me get well cards because of the stroke,” he said in the clip. “In the mail yesterday, I got a Pokémon card.”

“This is kind of weird, but me and [my son] Tyler had to make sure it wasn’t a Charizard card,” McDowell quipped with a laugh of the high-value card. “But I’m signing it. Here we go.”

McDowell went on to sign the card, telling the camera, “There you go! First time. Pokémon.”

The latest update came less than a week after McDowell broke his silence following his stroke.

“Hi folks. Yes, I had a stroke,” he confirmed. “I’ve got to get all this plaque cleared out here of my jugular. But you know what? I’m walking. Yep! I’m doing my two-mile walk.”

In addition to walking, McDowell is already back performing. He recently played a sold out show in Kentucky. In July, he’ll take the stage twice in Nashville. The following month, he’ll perform two concerts in Memphis.

    Ronnie McDowell’s Stroke

It’s a remarkable recovery in the wake of such a terrifying incident.

The health emergency took place back in June during a performance in Pennsylvania. At the time, McDowell began to slur his words and speak incoherently.

Shortly thereafter, the singer’s son, Ronnie McDowell Jr., revealed that his dad had suffered a mini stroke. The younger McDowell said that the elder one will undergo surgery in the weeks ahead.

In a second update, McDowell Jr. said that his dad had “no long-term damage” as a result of the stroke.

McDowell Jr. followed that up with a post showing his dad surrounded by letters.

“My Dad called me last night and said, ‘Well Son, I think that I just picked up the most mail that I’ve ever received.’” he wrote. “He wanted me to thank you all. I could just hear this happiness in his voice…. Thank you all for always making my Legendary Dad feel So Special and Appreciated.”

Country Music Stars Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton Share Major Announcement That Has Fans “Pumped”

Country Music Stars Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton Share Major Announcement That Has Fans “Pumped”

In the early 2000s, country music welcomed two singers who would go on to leave their mark in the genre. For Miranda Lambert, she kicked off her career with hit songs like “Kerosene”. That was just the start as she was also the voice behind songs including “Wranglers”, “If I Was a Cowboy”, and “Gunpowder & Lead.” For Stapleton, he started his career as a songwriter before finding his way to the stage. And having more than a few hits, the country singer won 10 Grammy Awards. With both singers top names in country music, they recently joined forces for their new duet “A Song To Sing.”

The idea of Stapleton and Lambert joining forces once again has been the dream of many country music fans since their collaboration on “What Am I Gonna Do.” Back in November 2023, Stapleton released his fifth studio album with Higher. While the album featured over a dozen songs, fans couldn’t get enough of “What Am I Gonna Do.” Writing the song together, the hit quickly became a favorite among fans, leading many to want more. But as the years passed, that idea became more of a dream. At least, until now.

The Reason Miranda Lambert Knew Chris Stapleton Was Perfect For New Song

Sharing a post on Instagram, both Stapleton and Lambert revealed they were, in fact, releasing a new duet with “A Song To Sing.” Not giving away a single detail about what fans should expect, Lambert only shared the release date, July 11th. With fans only having to wait until Friday to hear the song, the next couple of days are sure to seem like forever. But again, with most already waiting years, they already considered the unreleased song the next big hit in country music.

With the post already gaining thousands of likes, fans shared their excitement, writing:

    “So Excited”

“AGHGH!!!! Two of the BEST in country music! I cannot wait”

“YESSS this is going to be epic.”

    “Pumped for This”

As for Lambert, she did share why Stapleton was the best singer to share the song with. Knowing the love that Stapleton and his wife, Morgane, have, the country singer said, “Chris understands this emotion from the inside out, because he and Morgane have both lived it. To have someone so soulful and willing to go into the heart of the feelings, to share the pull of the road and creative life – and what that means when you love someone with every bit of your being is next level.”

Again, keeping quiet about the details, Lambert concluded, “When we finished it, we both knew we wanted to release it, to share it with everyone.”

WHEEL of Fortune social media correspondent Maggie Sajak could end up taking over Ryan Seacrest’s hosting job if he doesn’t sign a new contract.

Ryan, 49, took over Maggie’s dad Pat’s longtime job this fall after the iconic star hosted the game show for over 40 years.

Despite her beloved dad’s departure, Maggie, 29, has remained on Wheel of Fortune in her role as social media correspondent.

Maggie has proven popular with viewers, and has created buzz for the show through her use of Instagram and TikTok.

“It’s important to allow Maggie to develop her own voice when it comes to the Wheel fan base, and that makes her incredibly valuable to Sony TV,” an insider told The U.S. Sun.

“Because the whole point of bringing in Ryan Seacrest was to reach more young people.”

    UNCERTAIN FUTURE

As The U.S. Sun previously reported, Ryan’s arrival on the show has brought a major boost in ratings.

But he has only reportedly signed an official contract for two years, leaving Wheel of Fortune’s future uncertain.

“Sony loves the ratings and wants to negotiate a much longer contract for Ryan, but right now they have to have contingency plans in place in case Ryan simply decides to move on,” the insider claimed.

“Maggie has positioned herself to help out if there’s a hosting vacancy, and the franchise is in her blood and her appreciation for the world of Wheel of Fortune is genuine.”

Whether Ryan stays or goes, Wheel of Fortune execs hope to keep Maggie on the show for years to come.

“Maggie’s already proven herself to be a super-valuable member of the Wheel family, especially during this time of transition,” the insider said.

    LAWYER LIFE

In addition to her job on Wheel of Fortune, Maggie also recently became a licensed attorney.

“Thank you to everyone who supported me through this journey,” she proudly posted in November.

“Excited to do some good with this in the future.”

As The U.S. Sun exclusively reported, Maggie’s law license was issued on September 7, 2024, by the State Bar of California.

She graduated from Georgetown University Law School in Washington, DC in May 2023.

    Wheel of Fortune’s big changes

The game show has undergone a major transformation now that Ryan Seacrest has taken over hosting duties for Pat Sajak.

-Ryan and Vanna White now host on a brand-new set, featuring a blue-toned stage, a green screen and art-deco wheel design.

-Ryan and Vanna make their big entrance from behind new sliding, brightly lit doors.

-Vanna turns – or now, touches – a modern, digital puzzle board controlled by lasers.

-Ryan brings a new hosting style, and has ditched Pat’s signature cue cards.

-The prizes have also been upgraded, and now include tickets to NFL games, and tickets to A-list concerts.

    VANNA’S REPLACEMENT?

In May 2023, Maggie filled in for longtime Wheel of Fortune co-host Vanna White, and fans thought she could take over upon the 67-year-old beauty’s eventual retirement.

Vanna seemed to hint Maggie could take on her legendary position standing next to the letterboard in the future.

“I think she’s a good replacement if I can’t be there for some reason,” she told E! in October 2023.

“She’s been around it her whole life, so I think she can fill in for me for sure.

    “She’s precious, she’s beautiful, she’s very good.

“I think she learned a lot from her father because he’s such a good interviewer. I think she’s good for our show.”

The television personality has been involved with the ABC game show way before she became their social media correspondent.

Her father Pat spent over 40 years as the host of Wheel of Fortune, before retiring and giving the reins over to Ryan Seacrest. He was first hired in December 1981 to replace the original host Chuck Woolery. Sajak originally started with Susan Stafford but she was replaced after a year by Vanna White.

For the show’s 50th anniversary, Maggie gave Access Hollywood an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the infamous set. During the tour, she said Wheel of Fortune holds a special place in her life.

She said: “Obviously this show is a huge part of my life and my family’s life.”

Once she came on board as a correspondent, she realized how many others are equally affected by the show’s presence.

“It’s a huge part of so many lives over generations now which is just crazy to even think,” she admitted.

Maggie made her live television debut in 1996, at just one year old.

A few years later, Maggie and her brother Patrick filled in for her father and Vanna during a special episode.

She reflected on that experience: “I didn’t even realize at that age the impact of the show so seeing it now and seeing those moments, I’m like ‘Wow, little did she know.’”

Underneath the Youtube video, several longtime fans gushed about Maggie and how it’s been to see her grown up in front of their eyes.

‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Why Fans Say Ryan Seacrest’s Days Are Numbered

    Wheel Of Fortune: Ryan Seacrest

New Wheel Of Fortune host Ryan Seacrest has been under an incredible amount of scrutiny since he took over for Pat Sajak. Even though he has put his best foot forward when it has come to the huge shoes to fill, many viewers are still rooting against him, with many saying that his days as the host are numbered. So, what are fans saying?

Wheel Of Fortune: Ryan Seacrest Stepped Into The Lion’s Den With New Gig

It is not a stretch to say that no one has been under a microscope the same way that Ryan Seacrest has been since taking over hosting duties on Wheel Of Fortune from Pat Sajak. Game show fans love tradition when it comes to their favorite game shows, and changing something like the host is a major deal that can easily make or break a program.

Even Ryan Seacrest has been open about feeling the pressure since he has been in the hot seat. Seacrest may have years of experience hosting shows like American Idol, but, taking on the world of Wheel Of Fortune is a completely different beast, as Ryan has found out since taking the job.

Fans Say Seacrest Is On Borrowed Time As The Game Show Host

Based on recent comments from Wheel Of Fortune fans, many already feel as though Ryan Seacrest has overstayed his welcome on the show. Recently, many commenters came forward with their thoughts on why they think this will be a short-lived gig for him.

One recent Wheel Of Fortune commenter said: “I’m sorry, but I can’t stomach Ryan. His delivery is smug and he seems so condescending.”

A second commenter chimed in, adding: “he’s trying but it just isn’t working.”

A third commenter added to the discussion, saying: “He’s definitely no Pat, but then again, no one is.”

Do Wheel Of Fortune Execs Have A Contingency Plan In Place?

While a lot of people may not like Ryan Seacrest as the new Wheel Of Fortune host, it seems that the game show brass may also be preparing a backup plan, just in case things don’t work out with the new host for the long haul.

One of the points of contention between Ryan Seacrest and the game show is that Wheel Of Fortune execs want Ryan’s undivided attention. Even though they may be willing to pay top dollar for his services, as many people know, Seacrest is also the face of American Idol.

However, it seems there is a backup plan in place to plug Maggie Sajak into the hosting gig if things don’t work out longterm with Ryan, and, based on a lot of fan comments, it seems many viewers would prefer that.

When Does Celebrity Wheel of Fortune Come Back?

Celebrity Wheel of Fortune was set to premiere on October 14, but sadly, the date has been pushed back considerably. The show will now air beginning mid-season — and it’s all due to football.

Celebrity Wheel of Fortune will now premiere in 2025, according to an October 11 press release from ABC. “Celebrity Wheel of FortunePress Your Luck and ABC News’ Scamanda will premiere in 2025,” ABC said in a press release shared with TVLine. ABC is adding “six Monday Night Football simulcasts to its previously announced schedule,” forcing the network to bump Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.

The statement explained: “ABC is a destination for marquee NFL programming including, as part of our new deal, Super Bowl 61 (February 2027), the first of two. The decision to add more simulcast games was made in conjunction with the NFL and is just for the 2024-25 season. This schedule leans into the cross-promotional opportunities maximizing the reach of NFL programming across the Disney ecosystem. ESPN has already aired four exclusive games during 2024 season and will have three additional exclusive games, with two in November and one in December. There are 25 Games on ESPN’s 2024 NFL Schedule.”

The statement added: “Furthermore, this move will give the ABC game shows Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and Press Your Luck a more consistent, weekly run in midseason when there are less preemptions (i.e. football, 2024 election).”

So far, there’s no firm date set for the premiere of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. Some of the episodes have already been filmed since it was expected to air in October 2024.

In June, Sajak announced he was leaving his hosting job at Wheel of Fortune but fans were thrilled that he would be on hand to give his final spin on the celebrity version. Ryan Seacrest took over hosting duties for Sajak beginning with Season 42 of the original game show.

The Celebrity Wheel of Fortune trailer, which was shared earlier this month on the show’s Instagram, has now been removed. In the video, Sajak, standing alongside Vanna White, said, “Get ready for an all-new season of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.” She noted, “Big names, big laughs, and big wins for charity.”

The post’s caption promised: “The stars are coming out for Pat’s final spin! See you October 14 for the season premiere of #CelebrityWheelOfFortune.”

Among the stars competing for $1 million to go to the charity of their choosing are: Rainn Wilson, Ellie Kemper, and Oscar Nuñez from The Office, Josh Gad, Justin Long, and Rachael Harris, who appeared on New Girl, and Veep stars Sam Richardson, Randall Park, and Matt Walsh. Tiffany Haddish, Regina Hall, Joe Manganiello, Katharine McPhee, Andrew Rannells, Pete Holmes, and Cameron Brink are also set to appear.

‘Wheel of Fortune’ Contestants Reveal What Pat Sajak Was Really Like Hosting Show

    Pat Sajak
    Wheel of Fortune YouTube

Legendary Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak could often seem a little curmudgeonly with contestants on the show, but according to former players, he was an absolute sweetheart when the cameras stopped rolling.

The topic came up on the Wheel of Fortune Reddit forum over the weekend when a user asked, “Former contestants, what was Pat Sajak like off-camera?” Several past players responded to the thread, with many praising Sajak’s kindness and professionalism.

“Pat was very nice. Before the bonus round, he said I was a really good player, that he was impressed with my gameplay, and he specifically called out one thing I did,” said one former contestant. “He also made jokes between front-game rounds and was enjoyable.”

“Kind, professional, extremely good at his job,” added another. “He made a couple digs at me that were extremely lighthearted and fun, and I responded in kind, and we had a fun time with it.”

Another added, “Pat was great with us on my taping day. He was cracking jokes during breaks with others. As for me personally, definitely had a fun time chatting hockey with me. We taped in 2016 and after round 1 he tells me, ‘I’m more of a Capitals fan but, can’t forgive the Sharks after what they did to my Kings in round 1.’”

Sajak was never afraid to speak his mind, even when it came to reprimanding contestants. In a memorable moment during a December 2020 episode, he sternly told one player, “Never interrupt me,” after she spoke over his Dick’s Goods sponsor. “Never, never interrupt a plug. You can do anything else but don’t interrupt,” he added before laughing it off.

In a March 2022 episode, the iconic host mocked one contestant’s anecdote about having his toe reattached after a bike accident. “That may have been the most pointless story ever told,” Sajak quipped.

Sajak’s on-air persona also didn’t have much sympathy when it came to contestants’ blunders. In a December 2023 holiday episode, a player failed at solving the Bonus Round puzzle (“Voicing Our Opinion”) and asked Sajak, “What kind of puzzle is that?”

“It’s a puzzle you didn’t solve,” Sajak snapped back, adding, “It’s getting testy here on Christmas.”

Still, contestants who have witnessed Sajak up close continue to speak highly of the experience.

“Very good at his job of hosting, kept things moving, a steady hand who kept things going very smoothly,” said another Reddit user. “Even if you know the rules well and read through them carefully before your taping (as I certainly did), you can definitely have a deer-in-headlights moment. Pat does great helping things along but not overstepping, a perfect host.”

The same commenter added, “Vanna (White) was the sweetest and most personable person on the set, but Pat was fantastic and the consummate professional.”

“I’ve talked with a gay man who was a contestant and had his partner there with him. I knew about Pat’s reputation for being conservative and asked how it went. He said Pat was very nice and didn’t treat them badly at all,” wrote another.

“Both [Pat] and Vanna did the little fly-by “hey, just saying hi” in their street clothes in the early morning when everyone is taking their tour of the actual stage, which was really nice,” one commenter added.

“I’m not a former contestant, but I did go to two separate tapings, about 10 years apart. At both, during commercials, he would interact with the audience and he was hilarious and friendly,” said another fan.

Sajak retired from Wheel last June after hosting 41 seasons. American Idol‘s Ryan Seacrest stepped into the role in September 2024, with White remaining on as his co-host.

The Price Is Right viewers were left stunned after Thursday’s (December 12) episode when multiple contestants made incredible errors that cost them big prizes.

Despite long-time host Drew Carey explaining the rules throughout the episode, several contestants made mistakes that some fans couldn’t believe. This included two contestants on Bidder’s Row bidding the same amount and another contestant bidding “ten-hundred.”

The contestants who made it up to the stage didn’t fare much better. One contestant took on Safe Crackers yet didn’t understand that the numbers could only be used once each. Even after he won a TV, the contestant seemed surprised, telling Carey, “Oh, I did? Where is it?”

Another contestant played Push Over, where the player must push the blocks until the correct price is shown in the window. This contestant continued to push all the blocks to the end, ruining any chance of winning the game.

Across the episode, there was only one contestant who won their pricing game. A contestant called Linda participated in the game Do the Math, where the player must decide whether to add or subtract from the price of a prize on the left to equal the price of the prize on the right.

Linda’s prize items were a washer-dryer combo and a game table, and she had $869 to add or subtract from the washer-dryer price to match the game table’s price. She figured out the washer-dryer was worth more and subtracted the $869, meaning she walked away with both prizes.

Fans took to social media after the game to compliment Linda on being the only contestant to win their pricing game while blasting the other contestants for their “stupidity.”

“Linda was the only one who won her pricing game!” wrote one commenter on YouTube.

“Well, today’s show just didn’t go well at all with Do the Math being the only game won,” said another.

Another referred to the Push Over player as “the most stupidest contestant on today’s show,” writing, “What in the world was he thinking?”

Meanwhile, a fan on the Price Is Right Reddit forum wrote, “We’re not even done watching the episode and I had to pause the DVR and come on here to see if anyone else was overwhelmed with the idiocracy of today’s contestants. Were the normal contestant selector people sleeping on the job today?”

“I have never seen such stupidity before on this show, it was so bizarre and irritating,” replied one commenter. “It’s like either nobody was listening or haven’t watched the show which is always obvious. I think it’s disrespectful to Drew and everyone if they don’t watch the show, they don’t even deserve to get called up. This episode was awful!!”

Another added, “Some of the blame lies with the producers. They pick contestants with big energy regardless of whether they’re fans. I don’t mind a dumb contestant now and then but the show is better with people who know TPIR, IMO.”

“I couldn’t believe the Pushover contestant,” said one fan, while another replied, “The audience was screaming at him to stop. He was in his own little world.”

One commenter added, “I feel like they all want to go viral now rather than win a gameshow.”

Another YouTube commenter wrote, “One of the worst episodes of TPIR so far this season because of the contestants and their stupidity.”
