A contestant on The Price Is Right mysteriously disappeared from an episode, and now the producers are finally explaining what happened to her. During the June 26 episode of The Price Is Right, contestant Kathy Young suddenly left the show after losing out on her chance to win a car by guessing the wrong price during the game Gridlock.

Then host Drew Carey stated that Kathy was going to spin the wheel in the Showcase Showdown when The Price Is Right came back from the commercial break. However, when the show returned, Drew announced that there would be only two players in the Showcase Showdown because Kathy had an emergency and was unable to continue.

The closing credits of the Price Is Right episode stated that a contestant couldn’t continue but would be receiving her prizes. Kathy had won workout equipment, which was the third item up for bid, earlier in the episode.

Price Is Right contestant mysteriously disappeared from an episode, and now the producers are finally explaining what happened to her.

In a statement to TV InsiderThe Price Is Right producers explained what happened to Kathy, although they didn’t specify the exact emergency that kept her from completing her game. They wrote, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, one of our contestants was unfortunately unable to complete her time on a recent episode of The Price Is Right.”

Fortunately for Kathy, she’s been invited back to The Price Is Right for another episode. The producers wrote, “We are pleased to share that Kathy has been invited to return as our special member of our audience for a future show taping.”

The producers continued, We look forward to the opportunity to welcome her back and extend our sincere thanks to Kathy—and to all of our loyal viewers—for being such an incredible part of our television family. -The Price Is Right Production.”

Since filming for The Price Is Right season 53 wrapped on Friday, June 27, Kathy will have to return during season 54.

What Kathy Young’s Emergency Means For The Price Is Right

It’s Great That Kathy Will Have A Second Chance

While it’s unknown what exactly happened to Kathy during her episode of The Price Is Right to cause her to have to suddenly leave the game, it’s fantastic that the show has invited her back for another chance. Most likely, she had some sort of sudden medical emergency, so it’s only fair that she should be able to be on the show again in the future.

While it’s unusual for a contestant to leave an episode midway through, emergencies happen in life, and it’s nice to know that The Price Is Right has a plan for people to return if necessary. It’s also a relief to know that whatever happened to Kathy was a temporary problem that won’t hinder her from coming back in the future.

I’m glad to see that The Price Is Right producers were respectful of Kathy’s privacy and didn’t disclose whatever the emergency was that kept her from finishing her game. Drew seemed genuinely concerned about her, as he kept repeating that he hoped that she was okay. It’s going to be very exciting to see Kathy’s return to The Price Is Right in a future episode.

Reba McEntire Teases ‘The Voice’ Crossover We All Deserve

“Queen of Country” isn’t Reba McEntire’s only title. The “Fancy” singer has also found success on the silver screen, starring in her own sitcom Reba and serving as a coach on NBC’s The Voice. Now, Reba is gearing up for her return to scripted television with her new sitcom, Happy’s Place. And the GRAMMY winner has hinted that fans may see some familiar faces when Happy’s Place premieres Oct. 18.

Reba McEntire Hints At Potential ‘The Voice’ Crossover

Season 26 of The Voice premieres Sept. 23, and Reba McEntire is coming back to defend her title. A little over a month later, Happy’s Place makes its debut right there on the same network. Juggling filming for two shows at the same time sounds daunting. Fortunately, it’s a short trip.

“You just have to walk across the alley,” said Melissa Peterman, who plays her best friend and bartender Gabby on Happy’s Place. “The two stages are next to each other.”

Might the proximity of the two sets lend itself to a Voice crossover? “In a skinny minute, yes!” Reba told TV Insider. “Snoop wants to be on the show. Michael Bublé wants to be on the show. Gwen [Stefani] will just come visit, she didn’t say she wanted to be on the show.”

Peterman, the singer’s former Reba co-star, has the perfect role in mind for the No Doubt frontwoman. “Maybe Gwen could play my sister!” she suggested. “I said that because I want everyone to think that we look a lot alike. She’s just awesome.”

Adam Levine Shares First Look at ‘The Voice’

Fortunately for Reba McEntire fans, the country legend will stick around The Voice for another season to defend her title. Fellow returnee Gwen Stefani will join her when season 26 premieres Sept. 23, along with newcomers Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg.

However, some viewers are already looking ahead to season 27, which premieres in the spring of 2025. That’s when fan favorite Adam Levine makes his hotly anticipated return to the big red chair. Filming has already begun, and the Maroon 5 frontman shared a photo to Instagram from the set.

Reba McEntire Reveals Her Sitcom’s Fate

After a wildly successful first season, NBC announced that “Happy’s Place” was sticking around for another year. Now, country music icon Reba McEntire and her fellow castmates have shared some exciting updates about the sitcom’s fate. In an Instagram reel NBC posted, the country queen takes fans behind the scenes as Season 2 filming gets underway.

“‘Happy’s Place’ Season 2, we’re in production now!” McEntire says in the video, which includes clips of the cast on set. Fans are loving this update, flooding the comments with excitement about what’s next for the lovable characters. “LOVE LOVE LOVE this show. Anytime we can get Reba and Melissa [Peterman] together again, I am overjoyed,” one fan wrote.

McEntire has repeatedly shared that she and her castmates love working together, and she did so again in this new update. “We’re just so glad to get back to work with each other,” the singer said. “Because it’s not work, it’s play.” The show originally began as a potential reboot of “Reba,” but has clearly taken on a heartwarming life of its own.

One Fan Suggested an Amazing Idea For Guest Stars

Reba McEntire posing on stageGettyHost Reba McEntire speaks onstage during the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards at The Ford Center at The Star on May 08, 2025 in Frisco, Texas.

Sitcoms are well-known for occasionally having fun guest stars on set, and “Happy’s Place” is no exception. However, one fan in the comments section shared an idea that both sitcom and country music fans could love. “I so think there should be an episode where [Lainey Wilson] and [Miranda Lambert] come into town and end up at “Happy’s Place!” the fan wrote. “That would be a barn burner!”

The trio have sparked new collective fame thanks to their single, “Trailblazer,” which lit up the ACM Awards stage this year. While the two country icons making an appearance on “Happy’s Place” is just a dream for now, both singers do have experience in front of the camera. Wilson already has some acting chops from her time in “Yellowstone” and her upcoming role in the film “Reminders of Him.” For her part, Lambert appeared in a 2012 episode of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”

Classic US comedy is set to return to screens as British production company confirms adaptation is in the works

It was one of the most successful sitcoms in US history, famously set in the bar where ‘everybody knows your name’.

But now more than three decades after Cheers served its final beer, UK viewers look set to get their own version of the comedy.

It has emerged that a leading TV company is offering British broadcasters a UK version of the show, which ran for 275 episodes on NBC in America.

The producer has been given the go-ahead to develop the show for British viewers by distributor CBS Studios, which will be set in a British pub.

According to a report by industry website Deadline, British production company Big Talk Studios, which made Rev for BBC2, has signed up writer Simon Nye, known for his work on Men Behaving Badly, to take part in the project.

‘Huge challenge’: Kenton Allen, chief executive of Big Talk, said he wanted to create ‘something fresh’ from the original

It is understood that the proposed British version of Cheers would be made by Big Talk along with US production company CBS Studios.

Cheers, regarded as one of the greatest sitcoms, starred Ted Danson, Woody Harrelson, Kirstie Alley and Kelsey Grammer, airing for 11 seasons.

Danson played womanising bar owner Sam Malone, while Alley played Rebecca Howe, who becomes manager of the bar.

Grammer’s character Frasier Crane would go on to be given his own hit sitcom series, while Harrelson, who played barman Woody went on to a successful Hollywood career starring in films like Natural Born Killers.

Cheers, set in a Boston bar, came to an end in 1993.

Speaking to Deadline, Kenton Allen, the chief executive of Big Talk, described it as a ‘huge honour’ to be allowed to adapt the comedy.

He said it would set be a ‘huge challenge’ to make sure it was right.

Mr Allen added: ‘The attitudes of Cheers in the ’80s are very different to the attitudes of today, so there’s a massive amount of work to be done around taking inspiration from the original characters but creating something fresh.’

He said: ‘The British pub is an endangered species, so there’s an answer for the ‘Why now?’ about it.’

Numerous UK comedies such as The Office and Ghosts, have been adapted for the US market.

It is regarded as less common for British broadcasters to take hit US shows and remake them for a domestic audience.

This has included The Brighton Belles on ITV, a reworking of The Golden Girls.

In the UK sitcoms are perceived as having less importance to broadcasters than they used to, with TV boss seemingly more interested in expensive dramas in the streaming age.

Channel 4 has been the UK home for the US version Cheers for many years. But it is unclear at this point if they will be among the bidders for a British made version.

It already airs Cheers spin-off Frasier regularly.

Cheers first aired on NBC in September 1982 and after 275 episodes came to an end in 1993.

Among the show’s other stars were Shelley Long, who played barmaid Diane Chambers, who had a turbulent romance with Malone in the sitcom, while Rhea Pearlman played Carla Tortelli, a feisty, wisecracking waitress.

John Ratzenberger played mail worker Cliff Clavin, while George Wendt played Norm Peterson.

Big Talk is behind the new BBC comedy crime drama Ludwig, starring David Mitchell.

When is a spinoff not a spinoff? When Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg moves his Danny Reagan character from New York City to Boston.

CBS announced today that the new series Boston Blue (working title) was given a straight-to-series pickup, which will air in the 2025-2026 broadcast season, but there’s a surprising twist to the story.

According to Deadline, Boston Blue was not initially conceived as a Blue Bloods spinoff. But when CBS read a script they had received about a family of police officers in Boston whose eldest daughter is partnered with a new transfer from LAPD, they got the idea to add Wahlberg to the mix, since he was born and raised in Boston. The network saw it as a prime opportunity to finally expand the Blue Bloods universe.

When the network broached Boston Blue creators Brandon Sonnier & Brandon Margolis with the idea, they agreed to the change, and then the conversation with Wahlberg began. Wahlberg has long said that he wasn’t ready to put Danny Reagan to bed, so he agreed. And, hopefully, he will have input into the new series so that Danny remains the same Reagan we love.

Here’s everything to know about the Blue Bloods offshoot Boston Blue.

    When will Boston Blue premiere?

The Blue Bloods offshoot is scheduled to be released for the 2025-2026 broadcast season.

    When will Boston Blue air?

It remains to be seen if Boston Blue will take over the Friday nights at 10 p.m. ET/PT timeslot that did so well for Blue Bloods for 14 years.

As of now, it’s unknown why Danny Reagan would move from New York City to Boston to accept a job. But there are a couple of possibilities. We do know that Danny is now an empty nester with his second son, Sean Reagan (Andrew Terraciano), off to college, so he may be looking for something new. His promotability in NYC could be limited because his father Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) is the NYPD Commissioner. Also, Danny has been a widower for several years, so he may want to find someone new to share his life with, but there’s too many memories of Linda (Amy Carlson) in NYC, which has held him back.

“We love the Reagans. We have all loved the Reagans for so long,” Martin-Green told Variety, about the now-canceled family drama. “And I feel that we’ll love the Peters too. I’m super excited for this partnership, and to be back in a CBS family — and in this family, your family. It means a lot, and I’m grateful for it. I think we’re going to have a good time.”

Her daughter Lena is a Boston Police Department Detective, and her stepdaughter Sarah is the Police Superintendent. Her son Jonah is a rookie cop; her father is Reverend Peters. Mae is accustomed to making decisions and standing by them.

The official description for the character of rookie cop Jonah Silver is: “the youngest member of the Silver family and is in law enforcement like his mother and sisters — each of whom are formidable in their own ways. Always the cool kid growing up, Jonah carries himself with confidence and swagger in all situations, so he’s naturally frustrated at being a rookie cop on the sidelines of the city’s biggest investigations.”

Will any of the cast of Blue Bloods appear in Boston Blue?

The most likely case is that there will be guest star roles for the Blue Bloods cast, but that Wahlberg will be the only series regular. And it may not happen in the first season in order to establish the new show on its own.

What is the plot for Boston Blue?

Danny Reagan moves from New York City to Boston, where he hires onto a position with Boston PD. Once in Boston, he is paired with Detective Lena Peters, the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family.

preview for Meet the Cast of “Blue Bloods”

Just when Blue Bloods fans were giving up hope on the show’s future, CBS made a major announcement that will bring back a fan-favorite character. While the network confirmed back in June 2024 that “franchise extensions” were in the works, there has been no information about potential spinoffs since—until now.

In a major development, the network is bringing back Donnie Wahlberg to his role as Danny Reagan on an all-new series called Boston Blue.

As the title suggests, Danny will be making a major move from New York to Boston in the new series. According to the network, “Once in Boston, he is paired with detective Lena Peters, the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family.”

The new series is described as a “universe expansion” and is set to air in the 2025-2026 broadcast season. Deadline reports that CBS previously considered spinoffs that would’ve had Danny Reagan relocate Texas and another one that focused on Tom Selleck’s character.

Boston Blue was originally conceived as a stand-alone series separate from the Blue Bloods universe, but the script was reworked when it was seen to be a natural fit for Boston native Donnie.

No additional details about the series have been released, so fans will be left to wonder if any of the other Blue Bloods characters will cross over to the new series.

With the change in location, it seems unlikely that we’ll be treated to a regular Reagan family dinner, but we’ll be happy to see Danny Reagan back in action soon!

CBS has created quite a wave of panic among the fans of its new daytime drama, Beyond the Gate, after making a somewhat puzzling scheduling decision.

After five months of airing original episodes daily during its daytime schedule, CBS unexpectedly decided to pull originals from the lineup. Instead of airing new episodes as fans have grown accustomed to, CBS instead put the show into reruns and began airing repeats. The decision quickly caught the attention of fans who were quick to express their concerns and frustrations in the comments of the show’s social media accounts.

“The way my heart fell out my shoe when I didn’t see a new episode,” wrote one confused fan who was sent into a panic when they were met with a rerun over a new episode. Another viewer echoed this sentiment, saying, “I’m frustrated that BYTG is getting the short end of the stick. I look forward to watching new episodes during my lunch break, only to find out there won’t be any new episodes this week. Is the network intentionally trying to sabotage the ratings?”

Making matters worse was that CBS failed to make it clear to fans that the show was heading into reruns this week, and the show’s social media accounts have basically ignored the fact that the show is on a break. This is something that has, understandably, frustrated fans.

“Why is the social media team not letting viewers know that this week is a batch of repeats?” questioned one frustrated viewer.

It was a fair frustration, as networks aren’t always forthcoming about their scheduling decisions, and it makes it hard for fans to know when there is a legitimate reason behind a show being preempted. It also puts showrunners, actors and creators in awkward spots when fans question them about the decision, which is what happened to Beyond the Gates creator Michele Van Jean, who took to Twitter to explain that scheduling decisions are above her pay grade.

“To those asking: preemption-rerun decisions are made way above my pay grade, so no insight into that,” Van Jean told fans.

So why did the show go on break this week? Well, CBS hasn’t really made that reason known. While one could speculate that it’s because of the Fourth of July holiday, CBS has still been airing new episodes of its other daytime programs this week, including fellow daytime dramas The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless.

The good news is that Beyond the Gates will finally return with fresh episodes after the Fourth of July holiday, with new episodes airing beginning Monday, July 7. Even better, the show is not going anywhere as CBS has already renewed Beyond the Gates for a second season. So while there could be weeks with reruns, fans can rest assured that CBS remains very much invested in the show and its future on the network!

Why There’s No New Beyond The Gates Today (June 30) & When New Episodes Of CBS’ Soap Opera Will Release

Beyond The Gates Vernon and Anita holding hands and looking at something off-camera

There is a reason that Beyond The Gates is not airing a new episode on June 30, 2025. One of the reasons CBS’ newest soap is considered groundbreaking is that it uses the same beloved soap opera tropes with its majority-Black cast, including over-the-top reactions to problematic behavior that sometimes lead to violence. The June 27 cliffhangers fell into this category.

It is thus frustrating that Beyond The Gates is not airing its next episode right away. This episode saw significant movement in three storylines, especially Kenneth’s attempt to blackmail the Duprees. After Bill supposedly took care of Kenneth, Randy came into the casino with a gun, and the episode ended with him pointing it in Kenneth’s direction.

Similarly, it was unclear at the end of the episode whether Alison was really an abused wife who is interested in Chelsea or if she is a stalker who is obsessed with her. Additionally, Kat threatened Eva and Leslie after talking to Jacob about the potential case against Leslie for Laura’s accident.

Why There’s No New Beyond The Gates Today (June 30)

CBS Is Airing An Encore Presentation Of The First Five Episodes This Week

While most soap operas do not air reruns, CBS has taken the unusual step of doing so. Throughout the week of June 30 to July 4, the network will re-air the first five episodes of Beyond The Gates instead of moving forward with new material.

It is unclear what the behind-the-scenes reason is for CBS’ decision. Series creator Michele Van Jean has stated (via Parade) that this decision is “above my pay grade,” clarifying that it was made by executives in the network.

CBS’ other soaps are airing new episodes this week, so this decision is specific to Beyond The Gates for an unknown reason.

CBS has given no official reason for this week of reruns. However, it is possible that the network made this decision because of the upcoming July 4 holiday — people may be traveling or busy, making it less likely they will watch new episodes this week.

When Will New Episode Of Beyond The Gates Release?

The Soap Will Return On July 7, 2025

Beyond The Gates Martin looks annoyed while Smitty puts his hand on his shoulder

The good news is that new episodes will return next Monday, so audiences will only have to wait one week to find out what’s happening next in their favorite stories. This hiatus is more difficult to manage than it would be for a primetime show because a week’s absence means that the series skips five days’ worth of episodes.

While only the first five episodes will be broadcast on CBS, every one of the 83 episodes already broadcast are available on Paramount+.

Regardless, the hiatus will be over quickly. In the meantime, audiences can catch up on any episodes they missed when originally broadcast. While only the first five episodes will be broadcast on CBS, every one of the 83 episodes already broadcast are available on Paramount+. Thus, it is relatively easy to watch any episode desired.

The storylines in Beyond The Gates have moved relatively quickly. Thus, this hiatus may be a positive event even though it is frustrating because it allows audiences who have already seen all the episodes to rewatch particular stories to refresh their memories and make the current storylines more understandable.

It’s worth noting that Beyond The Gates is still building its audience. Aside from being a new venture for CBS, its peers have also been on the air for decades. At this point, it’s important for them to build their own fan-bases, and doing some re-runs can help with that.

What To Expect From The Upcoming Beyond The Gates Episodes?

Martin’s Secret Will Unravel, An Unexpected Alliance Will Cause Trouble, and More

Ted sneaks up on Eva in Beyond The Gates

Beyond The Gates will make up for its hiatus by offering intense drama when it returns. The newest developments in the Martin story are especially exciting. Smitty’s investigation unearths a link between corrupt cop Malone Marcel and Vernon, which will leave the reporter with divided loyalties while threatening the Dupree family’s safety. Additionally, the soap promises a shocking alliance.

Beyond the Gates’ Leslie and Hayley will join forces. Hayley has long felt resentful of the way the Duprees used their power to turn her into a pariah, while Leslie will stop at nothing to gain Ted for herself. This alliance promises to be explosive, making it disappointing that audiences must wait a week for it.
