Reba McEntire planned to enjoy some much deserved downtime when she received a call about starring in Happy’s Place. This new sitcom about a woman who inherits a restaurant — and with it discovers some long-lost family — is scheduled to debut on October 18 on NBC. “I said, ‘I think I’ll take next year off,’” Reba tells Closer. “The angels were going, ‘Oh, not yet. We’ve got something for you to do.’”

Even if it wasn’t literally divine intervention, Happy’s Place was the opportunity that Reba had been looking for since the end of her first sitcom, Reba, which ran for six seasons from 2001 to 2007. “It’s my favorite thing to do,” says the country music star, who spoke with Closer at the recent Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour. She confides that she prefers the stability and set schedule of a television show over the unpredictable rigors of a cross country music tour. “Consistency is not something I’ve had the first 20-30 years of my career,” Reba explains. “With TV, you’re in the same parking spot. Same stage. Same craft services. There’s your family that you get to work with and play with. The hours are great, the weekends are off.”

Inside Reba McEntire’s New Sitcom With Rex Linn

Reba’s chosen family for her new sitcom includes two familiar faces: Melissa Peterman, who costarred as Barbra Jean on Reba; and Rex Linn, Reba’s real-life love interest, who also appeared with her in the 2020 drama Big Sky and Lifetime’s 2023 film The Hammer. “We were both a little nervous about it at first. I mean, you just never know,” Rex confides to Closer about working together. “But it ended up being wonderful.” Reba agrees. “Our chemistry on the camera is great. He’s also my coach. He helps me with my dialogue. I love that he’s always got my back and I’ve got his.”

The pair began dating during the 2020 pandemic and aren’t married yet, but they might as well be. The new TV series guarantees that they will be seeing each other day and night — and neither is complaining. “We love getting up in the morning together,” said Rex. “We like going to bed together and talking about our day. We also love going to work together.”

There have been challenges. While filming Big Sky, Reba was also flying out to perform concerts every weekend. “We’d work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and then she got on a plane Thursday morning,” recalls Rex, who admits that their relationship was “tested” by this unforgiving schedule, “but we never got in an argument. Never. Now with Happy’s Place, we just love to be able to do it again.”

Reba is also looking forward to playing a role that’s not based on herself. “Bobbie’s a pretty intense character,” says Reba. “She’s very devoted to the tavern and to her dad’s memory, and she wants everything to stay as it is.”

Of course, change is inevitable. While Reba’s character tries to fight it, the performer is happy to embrace fresh challenges and new chapters in her already remarkable life. “Out of all the things I get to do, this is my favorite,” says Reba of sitcom acting. “You just get to go to work and play. I absolutely love it. And getting to work with these folks? Icing on the cake!”

  • The Verdict is In: Tim Allen’s “Shifting Gears” Future Revealed! Prepare for the Explosive Fan Reaction

The Verdict is In: Tim Allen’s “Shifting Gears” Future Revealed! Prepare for the Explosive Fan Reaction

The Fate of Tim Allen’s ‘Shifting Gears’ Has Finally Been Decided

Seann William Scott as Gabe standing across from and looking at Tim Allen as Matt in Shifting Gears

ABC is keeping the engine running on its newest family comedy. The network has officially renewed Shifting Gears for Season 2, giving fans more time with Tim Allen and Kat Dennings‘ delightfully dysfunctional father-daughter duo. Created by Julie Thacker Scully and Mike Scully, with Michelle Nader serving as showrunner, the multi-cam sitcom follows estranged father Matt (Allen) and daughter Riley (Dennings) as they attempt to rebuild their fractured relationship — with plenty of sarcasm, misunderstandings, and reluctant bonding along the way.

There initially seemed to be little chance of the show not being renewed when it debuted in January and quickly became ABC’s most-streamed comedy premiere ever, pulling in a whopping 17 million cross-platform viewers in just seven days, but doubts began to creep in as live viewership dipped as the season progressed, even though the show consistently saw solid gains in delayed viewing.

Plot details for Season 2 are being kept under wraps, but Season 1’s finale teased new romantic entanglements for Matt, renewed tensions with Riley, and plenty more opportunities for generational clashes between Allen’s conservative leading man and the more liberal younger members of the cast—the exact kind of juxtaposition that his audience has come to expect and enjoy.

Tim Allen Loves His Role in ‘Shifting Gears’

Allen is one of the kings of sitcoms in Hollywood, but after leading two of television’s most successful sitcoms—Home Improvement (1991-1999) and Last Man Standing (2011-2021)—he truly wasn’t sure if he really wanted to do another series. But when he was proposed Shifting Gears, and saw that the set was designed after his own North Hollywood garage, he admitted it was “what I always wanted” from a show.

I love the sitcom format because of my stand-up,” he explained. “I get to be in a live audience situation. When they said, ‘What would you do if you did another one?’ I said, ‘If a guy had just lost his wife and he’s still able to be funny and [work on] a relationship with an older daughter … and I’d like to build hot rods!’ Kat Dennings said, ‘[Some people] get into a relationship because [their] parents don’t like it. Your parents tell you not to do something, so you do it.’ My daughters are not like that. I mean, we’ve had our problems, of course.”

Kat Dennings Says ‘Shifting Gears’ Has Been “A New Experience”

    Kat Dennings in Shifting Gears

Dennings has also spoken recently of how much she’s enjoying her part in the series. She was interviewed on the Not Gonna Lie podcast, saying she was excited about playing a mother for the first time in her career, even though she joked she’s still “12.” Dennings stated it was the chance to try something new that drew her to the series, as well as getting to act with Allen, adding that he’s always “very present” and “really feeling these things.”

“In the first episode, we both get emotional and it was real. It’s incredible to deal with him and the kids. I mean, everybody is really amazing. That just makes the funny parts even funnier and such a relief to do. It’s just been a very good, organic-feeling show to me. Which is new, it’s a new experience for me.”

    What is ‘Shifting Gears’ About?

Seann William Scott and Kat Dennings in Shifting Gears

The show sees Allen play Matt Parker, who runs a car restoration shop and has been widowed for a short period of time. His life is turned upside down when his estranged daughter, Riley (Dennings) rocks up with her two kids — Carter and Georgia — in tow. The new normal forces Matt to try and confront past grievances he may have had, while trying to reconnect with his family. Maxwell Simkins plays Carter, Riley’s teenage son. He is socially awkward, dependent on technology and a source of a lot of the generational clash humor on display. Barrett Margolis plays Georgia, Riley’s younger daughter. She brings youthful energy to the household and often serves as a bridge between her mother and grandfather. Seann William Scott and Daryl “Chill” Mitchell play Gabriel and Stitch, two family friends who work at the auto shop alongside Matt, and provide a lot of the comic relief.

Where Do I Know Tim Allen From?

Scott Calvin dressed as Santa Claus talking to someone in The Santa Clause

Allen made his name as Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor in the long-running sitcom Home Improvement, which aired between 1991 and 1999 on ABC. It made him a household name and led to two massive breakout movie roles for the comedian. Allen also returned to sitcoms between 2011 and 2021, when he played Mike Baxter, a conservative outdoor goods store exec and family man on Last Man Standing for both FOX and ABC.

The first major movie role for Allen was Scott Calvin in Disney’s The Santa Clause. Allen played a miserly, career-driven divorcée who neglected his son, before being given the chance to become Santa Claus and redeem himself. He would then reprise the role in two sequels and Disney+’s The Santa Clauses series. Allen is also the voice of Buzz Lightyear in Pixar’s legendary Toy Story franchise. Allen has voiced the Space Ranger from 1995 through to today, with Toy Story 5 due for release in 2026.

Shifting Gears is streaming now on Hulu. Stay tuned for more updates on the progress of Season 2.

Unbelievable Twist! Reba McEntire’s “Happy’s Place” Makes a DARING Plot Swap – Fans Will Be Stunned!

Reba McEntire announced the premiere date of the first episode of the sitcom Happy’s Place has been confirmed, but an interesting plot point in it has been replaced by…

Happy’s Place finds McEntire playing Bobbie, a woman who inherits a restaurant from her father.

Soon she discovers a half-sister (Escobedo) she never knew she had.

The two become unlikely business partners; in real life, McEntire is 69 and Escobedo is 25, so it’s safe to expect some generation gap humor.

Linn and Peterman’s roles (see below) position each to share the screen with the show’s star often. That could give the show a head start, given their on and off-screen chemistry.

Since the end of Reba, Peterman and McEntire have toured together and filmed many comedic social media clips together. Their timing is still very sharp.

One hopes that if the two are lovers in Happy’s Place, they reach a different conclusion than they did on Big Sky, where McEntire’s Sunny kills husband Buck (Linn).

The cast and characters on Happy’s Place represent a diverse set of backgrounds. Here’s what’s known, courtesy of several media outlets, including TVLine.

Belissa Escobedo as Isabella: Bobbie’s twenty-something half-sister is thrilled to be working at the tavern. The psychology student is full of energy, smart and creative.

Melissa Peterman as Gabby: Gabby is a bartender at the restaurant. She’s described as needy and dramatic and secretly wishing she was Bobbie’s sister.

Rex Linn as Emmett: A cook at Happy’s Place.

Tokala Black Elk as Takoda: A waiter at the tavern.

Pablo Castelblanco as Steve: An accountant.

“Last Man Standing” Shocker! Beloved Stars Reunite in Brand New Photo – You Won’t Believe Who’s Back!

Last Man Standing Reunion Revealed in New Image of Upcoming Shifting Gears Episode

    Tim Allen Last Man Standing

Another Last Man Standing reunion episode is in the works for Tim Allen’s new sitcom Shifting Gears. However, unlike the recently aired Valentine’s Day episode, the returning Last Man Standing alum was not a main cast member during the show’s nine-season run on ABC/Fox.

Per Screen Rant, in an upcoming episode of Shifting Gears, Allen will reunite with Jay Leno, who made recurring appearances in Last Man Standing as semi-retired auto technician Joe Leonard in the show’s final five seasons. However, Allen and Leno’s working relationship goes back even further than that, with Leno having made two guest appearances as himself on Allen’s first sitcom, Home Improvement, in the 1980s. Leno will appear in the March 12 episode of Shifting Gears, titled “Gummies,” as himself, with the storyline seeing the former Tonight Show bringing his car into Allen’s character’s car restoration shop, Parker Customs, for repair. Check out a first look image of Leno below.

Leno isn’t the first Last Man Standing alum to make a guest appearance on Shifting Gears. Nancy Travis, who appeared in all nine seasons of the ABC/Fox sitcom as Tim Allen’s character’s wife Vanessa Baxter, guest starred in the sixth episode, “Valentine’s.” In the episode, directed by frequent Allen collaborator John Pasquin, Travis played a widow named Charlotte who stumbles upon Matt (Allen’s Shifting Gears character) visiting his wife’s gravesite on Valentine’s Day.

After the episode aired, Travis spoke with TheWrap about working with Allen again. “I got to work with Tim again, not in the role of a wife or a girlfriend, but as a stranger who shares a similar past and is a catalyst for him moving forward after the death of his wife in the show,” she said. “It was a very, very interesting character, and I was really excited to jump in and do these scenes with Tim.”

Shifting Gears Has Been a Ratings Hit for ABC

Created by Julie Thacker Scully and Mike Scully, Shifting Gears stars Allen as Matt Parker, a widower who runs an auto shop, and Kat Dennings as his estranged daughter, Riley Parker. The series revolves around Matt reluctantly taking in Riley and her two children after she returns home, as well as day-to-day auto shop life. Seann William Scott, Daryl Chill Mitchell, Maxwell Simkins, and Barrett Margolis are also part of the show’s main cast.

    Raising Dad cast

While his film career as a leading man was short-lived, Allen has remained a constant draw on television, with Home Improvement and Last Man Standing lasting eight and nine seasons, respectively. Shifting Gears has the potential to run just as long, especially if it maintains the ratings it’s currently getting. The series premiere of Shifting Gears set an audience record for ABC with its subsequent viewership on streaming, drawing almost 17 million viewers across ABC, Hulu, Hulu on Disney+, and digital platforms. This makes Shifting Gears the strongest series debut for ABC since the Roseanne spinoff series, The Conners, premiered in 2018.

“Gummies,” the ninth episode of Shifting Gears, guest starring Jay Leno, airs on ABC on Mar. 12.

“Shifting Gears” Season 2: New Faces & Surprising Departures Revealed in Explosive Cast Announcement!

“Shifting Gears” Season 2: New Faces & Surprising Departures Revealed in Explosive Cast Announcement!

Yes! Shifting Gears Getting Renewed Means It Can Introduce The Character I’m Most Interested In

Seann William Scott as Gabriel and Kat Dennings as Riley drinking coffee in Shifting Gears

Now that Shifting Gears has officially secured season 2, there’s one highly-anticipated character to join the Parkers when the family sitcom returns. Tim Allen leads the Shifting Gears cast of characters as widower Matt Parker, whose grief and gruff personality often causes him to clash with his contrasting daughter, Riley (Kat Dennings). The inciting event of the series sees Riley return home after 15 years with her own children in tow: endearingly awkward teen Carter (Maxwell Simkins) and enterprising youngest child Georgia (Barrett Margolis). Shifting Gears quickly establishes the tense relationship between Riley and her father, but desperation supersedes pride.

Riley and Matt grow individually throughout Shifting Gears season 1, but their relationship has also incrementally mended as the two have been forced to resolve their frequent conflicts. With Shifting Gears joining the list of shows renewed by ABC for the 2025-26 season, the existing characters can continue to develop— more importantly, the cast can expand and enrich the overarching storylines. The employees at Matt’s auto-restoration shop, Gabriel (Seann William Scott), Stitch (Daryl “Chill” Mitchell), and Frankie (Cynthia Quiles), have already added a unique layer to the series. However, the Parker family still has one missing member to introduce.

Shifting Gears Teased Matt’s Son & Riley’s Brother — Sammy

    Unseen But Not Unknown

Kat Dennings as Riley and Tim Allen as Matt in Shifting Gears.

Although Matt and Riley are firmly planted at the center of Shifting Gears, the sitcom has been haunted by two missing family members: Diane and Sammy. Diane, Riley’s mother and Matt’s wife, passed away prior to the series, but the aftermath of her death is still impacting the main characters. Alternatively, Sammy has been mentioned multiple times— and even has a one-sided phone call with Riley at the beginning of the season— but his presence has been more subtle, obviously implying an inevitable appearance. Out of Shifting Gears’ biggest unanswered questions, when Sammy will return is definitely towards the top.

Sammy’s phone call with Riley doesn’t reveal his voice, meaning there’s still an opportunity for Shifting Gears to cast a big name as Riley’s brother.

There are already built-in dynamics for Sammy to fit into when he eventually shows up in Shifting Gears, but there’s still no telling what kind of personality the unseen character will have. It’s been established that Sammy used to be close with one of Shifting Gears’ scene-stealers, with him and Gabriel being childhood friends. Sammy’s phone call with Riley implies they’re close enough for a quick chat, but whether Sammy is more likely to take Riley or Matt’s side in a squabble is up in the air. Given that Sammy is in the Navy, his return will undoubtedly be eventful.

Shifting Gears Season 2 Means That Sammy Can Finally Be Introduced

A Second Season Means New Characters Alongside New Stories

Matt (Tim Allen), Carter (Maxwell Simkins), Georgia (Barrett Margolis), and Riley (Kat Dennings) around the kitchen in Shifting Gears.

Shifting Gears season 2 not only leaves the door open for Sammy to appear; it demands that Riley’s brother be present. Executive producer Michelle Nader confirmed Sam’s character in Shifting Gears season 2, describing him as “a great character for everyone to complain to!” The short line implies that Sammy will be a middleman for Riley and Matt, not quite a buffer and not quite a neutral party. There’s no exact timeframe for when Sammy will join Shifting Gears; his arrival may mirror Riley’s and come in the season premiere, but it might take more time.

Matt looking at Riley in Shifting Gears season 1, episode 9

Whenever Sammy makes his long-awaited entrance, he will surely become a strong influence on the unresolved plotlines, further complicating everything with his fresh perspective. Riley and Gabriel’s romance in Shifting Gears, slow as it has been burning, will certainly run into obstacles if Sammy objects. Now that Riley has committed to divorcing Jimmy (Lucas Neff), Shifting Gears can utilize Sammy as a part of Riley’s support system and explore his role as Carter and Georgia’s uncle. Of course, the biggest impact Sammy will have on any plot is the contentious relationship between his sister and his father.

How Sammy’s Debut Can Impact Matt & Riley’s Relationship In Shifting Gears Season 2

Sammy Can Triangulate The Family Comedy

Matt and Riley may have ended Shifting gears season 1 on a good note, but their characters are fundamentally bound to quarrel over everything important and everything inconsequential. Sammy could be a much-needed voice of reason, moderating their arguments and helping the combative father-daughter duo understand each other’s perspectives. Having a third voice in the discussion will help balance the episodic conflicts and add nuance rather than perpetuate the hostile dichotomy of Riley and Matt’s interactions. In short, Sammy could add shades of gray that make disagreements feel less like fighting for fighting’s sake in Shifting Gears season 2.

Regardless of whether Sammy turns out to be straitlaced like Matt or rebellious like Riley, his presence will be invaluable to Shifting Gears season 2.

Additionally, introducing Matt’s son in Shifting Gears can elongate the underlying narrative of complex grief without it feeling redundant. Riley and Matt have helped each other confront their unresolved trauma from Diane’s death, but it’s possible Sammy still needs to heal alongside his family, despite its occasional dysfunction. Regardless of whether Sammy turns out to be straitlaced like Matt or rebellious like Riley, his presence will be invaluable to Shifting Gears season 2. Hopefully, Sammy will integrate with the cast well enough to grow into a full-fledged character on his own, negating the need to act as a mere intermediary.

Uncover Where the Beloved “Friends” Cast Is Now – Their Journeys Beyond the Sitcom Couch!

Friends Cast: Where Are They Now? From Sitcom Icons to Hollywood Figures

    Main Image

If you enjoy sitcoms, the American series ‘Friends’ is likely a staple on your watchlist. True to its name, it follows the lives of six close friends—Monica, Ross, Rachel, Phoebe, Joey, and Chandler—as they navigate the highs and lows of life. Over the course of 10 successful seasons, the show aired from 1994 to 2004, earning an impressive IMDb rating of 8.9/10. It has also become a cult classic, serving as a comfort show for some and a form of therapy for others. Whether you’ve seen Friends or not, you’ve probably heard someone in your circle say ‘how you doin?’ or sing the tune ‘Smelly Cat’ or refer to themselves as a paleontologist.

    ALSO SEE:

More than 20 years have passed since the final episode of Friends was broadcast, yet the fanbase that the main cast has built remains robust and continues to expand significantly each year. In 2021, HBO even organized Friends: The Reunion special, unaware that it would be the last occasion for all six cast members to reunite before Matthew Perry’s passing in 2023. From fresh faces trying to make it in Hollywood to established stars, let’s explore what the Friends cast is doing today and how their lives have evolved since the series concluded.

    Jennifer Aniston aka Rachel Green

The individual who was warned that ‘Friends’ would fail and that she would struggle to find work afterward ironically became the most famous and beloved star of the sitcom. Throughout the series, her transformation from a shopping-obsessed runaway bride to a successful career-driven woman continues to motivate countless women even now. In the show’s finale, she had a child and ended up with her love, Ross, achieving her happily ever after.

Since her time on Friends, Jennifer has appeared in a variety of hit films such as Murder Mystery, Just Go With It, Horrible Bosses 2, and others. She received the Golden Globe award for Friends in 2003 and made her return to television with The Morning Show on Apple TV+ in 2019. This series also gained significant popularity, earning Aniston two Emmy nominations and one Screen Actors Guild Award.

Regarding her personal life, she has been married to Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux, but her career achievements have overshadowed these unsuccessful marriages, especially as her role as an anchor on The Morning Show keeps her in the spotlight, with the show being renewed for a fourth season. Aniston believes that her parents’ divorce made relationships difficult for her, fostering a sense of self-reliance that she continues to cherish.

    Jennifer Aniston 2025

Professionally, Aniston is set to return for the fourth season of The Morning Show, alongside a new series titled ‘My Roman Empire’ and the movie ‘9 to 5 Reboot,’ which is an adaptation of the classic comedy. She has happily moved into a newly renovated mansion in California worth 15 million dollars, which was formerly owned by Oprah Winfrey. On a personal note, she remains single but is receptive to love, even though she is not actively looking for it.

    Courteney Cox aka Monica Geller

The second cast member who received immense love, appreciation, and fame from Friends after Aniston is Courteney Cox, who portrayed Monica Geller.  The most organized character on the show initially won the audience’s hearts with her neurotic behavior, but eventually transformed into a loving girlfriend and wife to Chandler, making everyone go awww over their relationship. She and Chandler adopted children, thus completing their family, and their journey remains one of the most fulfilling for those who cherish happy endings.

After the show concluded in 2004, Cox achieved remarkable success in her career. She played a leading role in ABC’s Cougar Town from 2009 to 2015, during which she also took on directing duties for several episodes. In 2014, she directed a feature film titled Just Before I Go and made her return to television in 2022 with the Starz Comedy Horror series Shining Vale.

Regarding her personal life, she tied the knot with David Arquette in 1999, but the couple divorced in 2013. They share the responsibility of co-parenting their daughter, Coco, who recently celebrated her 21st birthday, and Cox enjoys a close relationship with her. At present, she is in a committed relationship with musician Johnny McDaid, whom she admires for his patience, intelligence, and creative inspiration.

Cox has launched her own lifestyle brand, Homecourt, which features a range of products including fragrances, detergents, room sprays, candles, and more. The actress turned 60 in 2024 and maintains a strong connection with her entire Friends cast, particularly Jennifer Aniston, as the two frequently celebrate special occasions together.

Courteney is set to reprise her role as Gale Weathers in Scream 7, scheduled for release in 2025, making her the sole cast member to appear in all seven films. Lisa Kudrow aka Phoebe Buffay

The character who brought me the most laughter, besides Joey, was Phoebe Buffay. Her iconic line, ‘my eyes, my eyes’, still brings a smile to my face whenever I recall the show. Lisa Kudrow’s portrayal of Phoebe Buffay was undoubtedly the funniest female character on the series, and her song ‘Smelly Cat’ has certainly reached cult status. From acting as a surrogate for her brother and his wife to finding her own happy ending with Mike, played by Paul Rudd, Phoebe’s journey was truly heartwarming.

She has been married to advertising executive Michel Stern since 1995, and they have a son named Julian, who is currently 24 years old. Her real-life pregnancy was incorporated into the show when she served as a surrogate for her brother. Her unique voice has also made her a notable figure in the voiceover industry. Besides Jennifer Aniston, Lisa boasts one of the most impressive career trajectories following Friends.

Lisa was last spotted in No Good Deed on Netflix in 2024 and made an appearance in The Parenting in 2025. Currently, she has not revealed any upcoming projects for this year. On a personal note, she remains happily married to Michel Stern. This year, Lisa presented the Memoriam segment at the SAG Awards, where she paid tribute to the performances of various actors. Additionally, she shared her experience of finding a note from Matthew Perry in a cookie jar prop from the series finale. Lisa has expressed her desire to collaborate with Mike White on White Lotus 4, but she acknowledges the need to be cautious about its darker themes.

At the beginning of the show, many viewers might struggle to appreciate Ross Geller, the paleontologist who becomes a professor, to the point where they may even find him annoying. Yet, as the seasons unfold, his character becomes more endearing, and you start to cheer for him, even if you don’t always see eye to eye with his choices during the 10-season run. The strong bond he shares with his sister Monica Geller, the chemistry he has with Rachel, and the friendship he develops with Chandler after marrying Monica are some of the standout moments of the series.

preview for Reba on The Dream Role She Didn't Land

Reba McEntire’s hit sitcom Happy’s Place got renewed for season 2 in February 2025.
Reba revealed on June 27 that Happy’s Place was officially filming new episodes for season 2.
Reba’s co-star Melissa Peterman also shared her thoughts on Happy’s Place going back into production.

It’s time to head back to Tennessee, y’all, because Happy’s Place is officially back in production!

The hit NBC sitcom starring Reba McEntire debuted back in October 2024, and fans were immediately drawn into the premise of a bar owner (Reba) learning she had a much younger half-sister (played by Belissa Escobedo). The two slowly get to know one another, surrounded by a quirky group of co-workers (including Melissa Peterman and Rex Linn) who help keep Happy’s Place together.

Clearly the concept was well-received by viewers, as Happy’s Place got renewed for season 2 back in February. Now, thanks to the latest update from the show, it looks like the cast is back on set to film new episodes. And if that’s not enough, Reba went on Instagram to share a joint post documenting the first days of shooting the all-new installment.

“Y’all ready for another round? 🥹 🍻,” the caption read on June 27.

Well, we’re certainly thrilled to see everyone back together! And even though we don’t yet know when Happy’s Place season 2 will premiere, Reba wasn’t the only one excited to be back for a new installment.

Just days before, on June 25, Melissa shared her own take on being back for Happy’s Place season 2. And judging by her Instagram post, it seems like she’s more than ready to be back behind the bar.

“Back at my Happy Place!!” she wrote in the caption. “Season 2! Look Ma! They painted the name on the stage!!”

Vanna White Reveals Candid ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Confession About Contestant Bloopers

Wheel of Fortune‘s Vanna White revealed what contestant bloopers have made her laugh throughout her decades-long job as the letter-turner.

In a new interview with People on MondayJanuary 6, in honor of the game show’s 50th anniversary, White, 67, acknowledged that she felt “for our contestants because they’re so nervous.” However, that doesn’t mean she hasn’t laughed over a few contestant’s responses over the years.

“But I do chuckle on the inside at some of the wrong answers,” White said. “Half of the time I don’t think they even realize what they’re saying. Like the time the answer was ‘More Fun Than a Barrel of Monkeys,’ and the contestant guessed, ‘More Fun Than a Barrel of Vikings!’”

“There was the guy who thought it was a ‘Styrofoam Hat’ instead of ‘Styrofoam Cup,’” she added. “And then there was a famous one where the answer was ‘Gone With the Wind,’ and the answer the contestant gave was ‘Done With One Hand.’”

During the interview, White yubi also shared another mistake that a contestant has made while trying to solve the puzzles. “We had a puzzle where the answer was ‘Streetcar Named Desire,’” she said. “And only the ‘m’ was missing. The contestant answered, ‘Streetcar Naked Desire!’”

“Finally, to my professional other half, dear Vanna,” Sajak said in a sweet tribute to her during his final episode. “Like me, she takes the show very seriously but not herself. I shudder to think what these 40 years might have been like had they brought someone in all full of themselves, playing the prima donna role.”

“She’s a very special woman and I know you’re all pleased to know she’ll be back next season,” he added.

“Price Is Right” Contestant Lands a Jaw-Dropping Jab at Drew Carey, Sparking On-Set Tension.

‘Price Is Right’ contestant takes brutal jab at host Drew Carey about his career

Drew Carey was put in his place.

Lillian Brown was on a roll during the July 2 episode of “The Price Is Right.”

The third-year Ph.D. student breezed through the games, racking up money as she played.

“I was thrown out of college twice. What’s the opposite of a PhD?,” Carey asked. “A talk show host,” Lillian quipped back.
“I was thrown out of college twice. What’s the opposite of a Ph.D.?” Carey asked Lillian Brown. “A talk show host,” she quipped back. The Price Is Right / CBS

Host Carey, 66, teased her about it, suggesting that the secret to her success was her Ph.D.

“We might as well not even keep going but . . . OK, OK. You have a Ph.D.,” he said to her.

“I was thrown out of college twice. What’s the opposite of a Ph.D.?” Carey continued.

“A talk show host,” Brown responded.

“You know what? I’m not smart enough to be a talk show host,” Carey said, yubi unable to recover.

Brown and the audience all laughed.

In the same episode, Carey cost a contestant a shot at the Showcase.

The host was trying to help when contestant Roni Gardner, from San Diego, California, struggled to spin the Big Wheel.

“You know what? I’m not smart enough to be a talk show host,” Carey responded, unable to recover.

Contestants spin the Big Wheel in an attempt to get close to 100 without going over. Everyone has two chances to spin and get their overall total the closest to 100 to move on.

For a spin to count, the wheel must achieve at least one full rotation. Gardner had trouble with this rule during the game.

After her first spin, the wheel landed on 90, which put her in position to win the game.

However, Carey pointed out that the wheel didn’t go all the way around, so the contestant had to redo her spin.

On her next try, the wheel barely turned past halfway, leading Carey to step in.

“Can I help you out?” he asked her.

    “Yes, please,” Gardner replied.

Carey then helped the contestant make her next spin, which landed on 15, meaning she was allowed a second spin to reach the goal.

Once again, Carey helped, but the wheel landed on 95, taking Gardner’s score over 100. Her chances of moving on to the Showcase were over.

“I’ll take the blame for that. Roni, I’m so sorry,” Carey apologized as she exited the stage.

Contestant Erika O’Farrell then moved on, but Gardner didn’t have the chance.

Carey had another funny interaction on the June 28 episode when contestant David, a barber, nailed a bid on a sewing-and-craft collection, and bantered with the host about facial hair.

Carey welcomed the contestant onstage after he guessed the collection’s worth of $950, the closest of the four contestants’ guesses to its $1,415 price tag.

“What’s up, man? Nice to see you! Welcome to the show,” the host greeted David with a handshake, to which David replied with equal enthusiasm.

“You too, man. Thank you so much,” David said.

“I was wondering when you’re going to grow your beard back,” the contestant joked to Carey.

“Oh I don’t know, I just got tired of it,” the comedian, who has rocked longer facial hair in recent years, responded.

David then gestured to Carey’s soul patch, and quipped: “This is looking good.”

Carey returned the compliment, adding: “Your beard looks great, man.”

“I was wondering when you’re going to grow your beard back,” the contestant joked to Carey.
Carey is on his 18th season of the long-running game show. The Price Is Right / CBS

Carey’s interactions with contestants have been a hallmark since he took over as host of the show after Bob Barker retired in 2007. Barker hosted the show from 1972 to 2007 and died in 2023 at the age of 99.

Carey is on his 18th season of the long-running game show. He’s also previously led “The Drew Carey Show” from 1994 to 2004, and “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” from 1998 to 2007.

His ultimate career goal is to outlast “Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak — who retired in June from that ABC game show. Sajak, 77, earned his place in history as the longest serving game show host of the same show for his 41-season reign.

“I do have a goal: I want to keep going until I die. This is my 18th season. I’ve got to get the 35 and 41, so I can catch Bob Barker and Pat Sajak,” Carey told TV Insider.

‘The Price Is Right’: Drew Carey Does Steve Harvey Impression After Contestant’s Awkward Gaffe

    Family Feud/The Price is Right

Drew Carey impersonated Family Feud host Steve Harvey after a The Price is Right contestant called him Steve. This comes just weeks after he did an impression of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

On a recent episode, Carey welcomed the contestants to Bidder’s Row to bid on a beverage refrigerator. One of the players, Paris Clayton, made a blunder that had him impersonating a fellow game show host.

“Paris, what do you say?” Carey asked.

“I’m gonna do 1,300 Steve….. Drew,” Clayton said. He glanced at the other players and seemed embarrassed, but Carey brushed it off with a joke. “1,300 Drew,” he corrected himself.

“That’s alright, I understand,” the host said. “He’s a friend of mine so it doesn’t matter. He’s one of my good friends.”

Carey then paused the auction to ask everyone if they wanted to see his Steve Harvey impression.  “Wait, let me do my Steve Harvey impression really quick,” he said. The host then took off his glasses, put a finger up to his lip to imitate a mustache, and opened his eyes wide at Clayton like Harvey tends to do. The audience went wild.

Luckily, the blunder didn’t mess Clayton up too much as he won the bid and got the chance to play Time is Money. He went on to win $8,000 on the game.

If Harvey saw the impression, he most likely brushed it off. Carey and Harvey are friends and have both been hosting their game shows for over 15 years. Carey even appeared on Celebrity Family Feud in 2020. Harvey called Carey “my buddy” during the show.

Carey’s team won the first question but did not go on to win the game. Kevin Nealon and his team took home $25,000 for their charity.

On March 11, Carey put on an accent and gave his best impression of a very famous line as the contestant flipped out over winning a car. The first prize that Charles Abbott had to guess was a vegetable chopper. Carey had no idea what it was and asked if it was an onion grater.

Announcer George Gray said, “I will give you a clue- Schwarzenegger.” “Get to the choppa” is a famous line said by Schwarzenegger in the movie Predator.

    “It’s a choppa,” Carey said.

After Gray gave a brief explanation of the item, Carey said in his best Schwarzenegger voice, “The price of the chopper is $23. Is that true or false?” Abbott said it was true, which was right, earning him one price from the board.

After Abbott had correctly guessed the items, he won a car and jumped up and down. After the contestant celebrated, Carey put on his Schwarzenegger voice again, saying, “We are going to see a commercial and get to the chopper. We’ll be right back!”
