DWTS Semifinalist Facing Legal Trouble After Alleged Shooting Incident originally appeared on Parade.

A former contestant from Dancing with the Stars is allegedly facing what could be major legal issues after an incident that took place in Florida. On June 13, TMZ reported that Antonio Brown, who competed on season 22 of DWTS with Sharna Burgess, was wanted by the authorities in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

According to TMZ, they were told by law enforcement that Brown has a warrant out for his arrest. The potential charge is for attempted murder, and the warrant is tied to an alleged incident that took place in Florida in May.

On June 12, The Washington Post reported that they reviewed the warrant issued in Florida. The warrant contains an attempted murder with a firearm charge, which would require a bond of $10,000 from the former NFL pro. Brown would also be placed under house arrest until the trial takes place.

The charge comes after Brown was allegedly involved in a shooting that took place in Miami during a celebrity boxing match. ESPN reports that police detained Brown after the event for several hours.

Video shared by TMZ showed Brown running just before gunshots were heard. The media outlet noted that it appeared Brown carried a gun in one hand as he ran.

In addition, The Washington Post reports that authorities met with an alleged unnamed victim who was at the boxing event. The media outlet claims that Brown fired gunshots at him after the two had a physical fight. The victim’s statement, TMZ reported, prompted the arrest warrant.

Shortly after the incident initially happened, Brown posted a statement on the social media site X, formerly Twitter.

On May 17, he wrote, “Regarding the boxing event that happened last night. I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me.”

Brown continued, “Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED.”

He added, “I will be talking to my legal council and attorneys on pressing charges on the individuals that jumped me. I will keep you all posted step-by-step on the process. Thank you for the support and love.”

Brown competed on season 22 of Dancing with the Stars, which premiered in March 2016. Brown and Burgess made it to week 9 of the competition, the semifinals, before their elimination.

The finals for season 22 included Ginger Zee and Val Chmerkovskiy, Nyle DeMarco and Peta Murgatroyd, along with Paige VanZant and Mark Ballas. The Mirrorball trophy went to DeMarco and Murgatroyd.

The program currently streams on Disney+ and, according to People Magazine, will also remain on the platform.

Tim and co were catapulted to superstardom thanks to the series, with the lead actor taking home a Golden Globe for best performance by an actor in a TV series – musical or comedy – alongside a string of other nods, Emmy nominations and People’s Choice Awards.

Despite the show ending nearly three decades ago, the Buzz Lightyear actor previously teased the idea of a possible revival, sharing that the idea had ‘been floated’ by the cast.

‘And more than I would have expected said, ‘Yeah, that would be cool to do it years later,’ like Roseanne,’ he told Entertainment Tonight in 2018.

However, Patricia – who played the Taylor family matriarch – shut down speculation in a candid chat last year, insisting that the idea would be ‘weird’.

‘I’d hear that he was coming out publicly and saying this stuff about how everyone was on board to do a Home Improvement reunion,’ she said, during an appearance on the Back to the Best podcast.

‘But he never asked me, and he never asked Jonathan, who I talk to. So I called Jonathan one day and I said, “Has he asked you about this?”

‘And he went, “No. Why is he going around telling everyone that we’re all on board when he hasn’t talked to you or me?” I think that’s weird.’

‘It would be very weird,’ she added f a possible reboot. ‘It makes me sad to think about it. I think — we did it. We did it well. We quit at the right time before it got really bad. And it should just stay as it is.’

Tim Allen is no stranger to charming audiences via that evergreen genre of situation comedies, or sitcoms as we like to say. But even though his latest series, Shifting Gears, is already a ratings smash for ABC, Allen is thinking ahead and shifting gears himself, from full speed ahead, to parking the acting car. At 71, Allen has built a legendary career in TV comedy, leading three long-running sitcoms that have dominated network primetime — Home Improvement, Last Man Standing, and now Shifting Gears. But despite comparisons to TV’s GOATs—one person even likened him to “the Tom Brady of sitcoms”—Allen knows nothing lasts forever.

Shifting Gears Episode 9 Addresses The Problem With Tim Allen's Home Improvement Past (But Can The Show Fix It?)

This probably will be the end of it,” Allen revealed to USA Today. “That sounds depressing, but I did (Shifting Gears) because it seemed like a good idea that would be fun. That’s really it.

Allen added that he felt at home in on a set and in front of the lights, and that the idea of giving it up hurt him, but he also admitted that time was running out for him to continue performing at the level to which he, and by extension, the audience, have grown accustomed.

“I just love being around the camera people and actors and the crew, so much so that I’m more uncomfortable at the thought of leaving the set and, God forbid, going to play golf.”

    What is ‘Shifting Gears’ About?

Tim Allen Shared An A+Video After Shifting Gears Already Hit A Major Milestone: 'That Was A Little Weak'
Shifting Gears finds Allen playing Matt Parker, an old-school auto restoration shop owner and widowed father struggling to adjust when his daughter Riley (2 Broke Girls star Kat Dennings) moves back home with her kids. The cast also includes American Pie’s Seann William Scott and Galaxy Quest’s Daryl “Chill” Mitchell as Parker’s shop crew and, for Allen, it feels like this is the final evolution of the TV persona he’s been shaping for decades.

This is getting closer and closer to the guy you see at my stand-up shows now,” he explained. “‘Home Improvement’ was literally just my stand-up show, where Last Man Standing reflected the fact that I had daughters and I wanted a lead guy who was smarter than Tim Taylor. So this new guy now, Matt Parker, he’s more of what I really am.”

Past episodes of Shifting Gears are available to stream on Disney+. New episodes air Wednesdays on ABC. Stay with Collider for the latest updates on Tim Allen and Shifting Gears.

Tim Allen and Kat Dennings’ New Sitcom Sets a Major Streaming Record

Shifting Gears Header Tim Allen Kat Dennings

Sitcom vets Tim Allen and Kat Dennings have done it again. The two have united to co-star in an all-new sitcom for ABC, and the result has set an impressive record for the network.

Per Deadline, Allen and Dennings’ new series, Shifting Gears, has set an audience record for ABC with its subsequent viewership on streaming. In the first seven days following the show’s premiere on network television on Jan. 8, the episode ultimately drew almost 17 million viewers across ABC, Hulu, Hulu on Disney+, and digital platforms. When it first premiered, the first episode of Shifting Gears debuted with a strong same-day audience of 6.2 million, but its multi-platform viewership saw a rise to the tune of 173% over the course of one week.

Shifting Gears image with Tim Allen and Kat Dennings in a kitchen

Now, Shifting Gears stands tall for ABC as the strongest series debut for the network since the Roseanne spinoff series, The Conners, premiered in 2018Shifting Gears is also serving as ABC’s most-watched streaming debut to date, as it pertains to streaming-only numbers across Hulu and Disney+. When not accounting for the premiere’s linear encores, the total number for Shifting Gears is at 12.5 million, which is still a bump of 101% from the same-day audience drawn on its premiere date.

The Reviews Have Been Middling (With a Higher Audience Score)

The high viewership hasn’t necessarily translated to critical acclaim. The series has been met with middling reviews, resulting in a score of 42% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, audiences have been enjoying the show much more so than the professional critics on the review aggregator website. Currently, Shifting Gears has a respectable audience score of 67%.

    Toy Story' Buzz Lightyear

Allen is known in part for his sitcom work after starring in hit TV shows like Home Improvement and Last Man Standing. Dennings has since become a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but fans can still remember when she also co-starred in the hit sitcom 2 Broke Girls; she also played Bob Saget’s daughter in the short-lived series Raising Dad. With Shifting Gears, both Allen and Dennings can mark another successful sitcom for their respective bodies of work. While the show has not been officially renewed as of this point, the high viewership will certainly increase those odds substantially.

“Tim and I have such a fantastic relationship that we can really balance each other out in all these scenes, and we know what to do with them so that it’s still fun,” Dennings said of the show in a Collider interview. “Like you said, we all have a family member or a friend or somebody at work that we just cannot agree with, but we love them anyway. It’s like, ‘Let’s not start this conversation.’ We all have that. It is a very relatable situation and there’s just endless potential for comedy with that kind of thing. Hopefully, we get many, many seasons to do it. That’s what I hope.”

Julie Thacker Scully and Mike Scully created the series, and Michelle Nader serves as showrunner. The show also stars Seann William Scott, Daryl Chill Mitchell, Maxwell Simkins, Barrett Margolis, and Jenna Elfman.

The first official trailer for ABC’s Shifting Gears previews Tim Allen’s newest family sitcom. Today, ABC dropped the first official trailer for Shifting Gears. In the trailer, Matt’s old-school values collide with Riley’s modern parenting style with lighthearted friction. What Shifting Gears’ New Trailer Means

A Glimpse At ABC’s Next Family Sitcom Hit

The release of Shifting Gears‘ official trailer means ABC is preparing for the family sitcom’s premiere next month. As a comedy that balances generational clashes with family reconciliation, Shifting Gears seems like a promising new addition to ABC’s family show lineup. Allen’s character, Matt, grapples with the sudden responsibilities of fatherhood and being a grandparent after years of living alone. Dennings’ Riley brings a fresh dynamic to the scene as she navigates rebuilding her relationship with her father as a young parent of two kids and her history as a misbehaving teen.

The trailer teases plenty of comedic moments, from Matt playing video games with his new grandkids to Riley’s witty comebacks and attempts at family bonding. Shifting Gears‘ premise signals a thematic return to Allen’s roots in family-driven television, such as Last Man Standing and Home Improvement. With Allen and Dennings leading the charge, supported by a strong ensemble and new guest stars, Shifting Gears aims to deliver a relatable story for multi-generational families.

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Trailer Is All Laughs Returning To This Familiar Format

Montana Jordan as Georgie and Emily Osment as Mandy

Georgie and Mandy’s story had just begun on Young Sheldon. In Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, the couple is now married, which comes with challenges. That’s not forgetting that they have a baby, and they live with Mandy’s parents. CBS has released the trailer and poster for the brand-new series, which teases something familiar yet new altogether. Picking up a short while after the events of Young Sheldon, the trailer finds Georgie and Mandy moving in with Audrey and Will, and oh boy, isn’t that something?

When the trailer begins, the young Cooper family has barely settled into the McAllister home. “I am so glad you and Cece are here,” Audrey (Rachel Bay Jones) welcomes her daughter and granddaughter. Conveniently, she forgets that Mandy is married. “And…?” Mandy urges her on. “Georgie,” Audrey adds reluctantly. The show returns to the multi-camera format that The Big Bang Theory featured. An in-studio audience is used instead of a laugh track. This is the biggest difference between Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage and Young Sheldon.

Living with In-Laws Becomes a Challenge In ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.’

The trailer does not feature any new characters, just ones already seen inYoung Sheldon. Still familiar are Audrey’s antics, which she never runs out of. Audrey does not respect Georgie. She thinks he is unmotivated, lazy, illiterate, and just about anything else. She doesn’t believe he deserves Mandy. This living arrangement is tricky in more ways than one, with Audrey’s dagger eyes not being the only problem. A young couple has their needs, but how do they get met when a house full of in-laws is full? And what about a baby monitor that broadcasts everything?

But circling back to Audrey’s disdain for Georgie, it never ends. The situation becomes complicated when Jim gives Georgie a job at the family tire shop. Not only do they live together, but they also work together. Georgie grows tired of Audrey’s snarky comments and confronts her. “If I may, you have a habit of slipping in little comments that can be real hurtful,” Georgie tells Audrey. Sometimes, opening one’s mouth does more harm than good. Georgie learns that what he hears her say is not the worst thing she’s said about him.

Ironically, the trailer is set against “Happy Together” by The Turtles, and yet this situation does not seem happy. The couple might find happiness in other places. The series’ poster finds them locked in a sweet embrace in what appears to be the laundry room. It gives them the privacy they need to enjoy their time together away from the prying in-laws and crying babies. The trailer does not feature other McAllister family members like Mandy’s brother Connor and Jim’s employee Ruben, who will also be featured in the story. Other Cooper family members are also set to appear in the series.

A ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ Star Just Got a Role on ‘Sheriff Country’ — Is He Leaving the Sitcom? Showrunner Weighs In

Scott (Christopher Gorham) and Mandy (Emily Osment) stand face-to-face in Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage.

The Season 1 finale of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has finally aired, and it introduces a new character, Scott, played by Christopher Gorham. With Season 2 already greenlit, there are concerns about whether a different actor will play this character given Gorham’s commitments on another major CBS show. However, showrunner Steve Holland reveals that it shouldn’t be an issue and that it’s possible to make things work.

Holland said in a recent interview with TVLine that despite Gorham’s latest role in the CBS series Sheriff Country, it is still possible for him to play his Georgie & Mandy character. Holland reveals that the Georgie & Mandy team have no intention of recasting, nor do they want to, and since the same network produces both shows, it is possible to work something out with the Sheriff Country team. However, due to the other show being set out in the country, it might pose a challenge.

“We don’t want to recast. We love Chris. That’s a CBS show as well, so our hope is that we can work it out with their production team when we need him, and we can get ahead. One of the benefits of that show being single camera is he probably won’t be shooting every day. Obviously, it’s out of the country, which makes it a little tricky, but we’re pretty confident we can work it out.”

Despite what Holland has said, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has recast one of the his characters before. In Young Sheldon, Connor McAllister was originally portrayed by Joseph Apollonio. But by the time Georgie & Mandy was greenlit, he was recast and is now played by Australian actor Dougie Baldwin.

Season 2 of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage was greenlit in February 2025. Season 1 received praise from fans and critics alike, earning a high 89% critics score and a 64% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. It also received a complete Season order and generated huge viewership numbers on CBS.

The release date of Season 2 has yet to be revealed. However, Holland teased what’s to expect for the show’s next installment, stating that Georgie’s (Montana Jordan) and Mandy’s (Emily Osment) new jobs will play a role in the future challenges that await this young couple.

Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm May Get A Season 13 After All Based On A New Update

Curb Your Enthusiasm TV Poster Larry David in his trial in CUrb Your Enthusiasm

Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm may get a season 13 after all, according to a new update from HBO’s head of comedy. The long-running comedy follows a fictionalized version of David as he crudely navigates the subtleties of social etiquette and normative absurdities. Since its debut in 2000, Curb has received countless award nominations and won two Emmy Awards for its improvisational style and sharp, cringe-inducing humor. Curb Your Enthusiasm also featured several iconic guest stars, from Ben Stiller and David Schwimmer to Michael J. Foxx.

Speaking with Deadline, HBO’s head of comedy Amy Gravitt revealed that she’s talking about a new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm with David. She noted that while the writer-comedian had not yet spoken to HBO about doing another series, she remains open to the possibility and would “love that.” Gravitt’s comments came as a surprise, given previous reports suggesting that David was ready to close the book on the show. Read what she had to say below:

We’ve been chatting. It seems like he’s got some ideas for me.

What This Means For Curb Your Enthusiasm

Curb May Not Be Over Just Yet

Gravitt’s remarks suggest that David’s creative spark hasn’t burned out just yetCurb Your Enthusiasm has often left its future uncertain between seasons, and has been revived multiple times after several year-long hiatuses. It seems the writer-comedian only returns when he feels particularly inspired, but if he does have new ideas brewing, there’s a strong chance HBO will greenlight a 13th season.

It appeared to be the end of Curb Your Enthusiasm when the finale of season 12 paralleled Seinfeld‘s last episode. Much like the Seinfeld finale, the final episode of Curb sees David on trial in an unfamiliar town, facing jail time for breaking an obscure local law. After Larry is initially sent to jail, just like the Seinfeld gang, Jerry Seinfeld was able to get the case thrown out. The final scene sees Larry and his friends on a plane flying back to L.A. and bickering—much like Jerry, George, Kramer, and Elaine, who were left to squabble in their cell.

    Custom image of Larry David

Showrunner Jeff Schaffer has also previously revealed that he has discussed continuing the series with David and even considered a possible spinoff featuring Leon Black. However, he mentioned that “it’s done in its current form,” suggesting that Curb could return in a different format, such as an adult animated adaptation. Given Curb Your Enthusiasm’s ability to constantly reinvent itself, these ongoing discussions open up exciting possibilities for how the show could continue.

Our Take On The Future Of Curb Your Enthusiasm

If Larry’s Game, So Are We

Larry David yelling with his arms extended in Curb Your Enthusiasm

Few comedies have the staying power of Curb Your Enthusiasm. While season 12 appeared to be the final bow, David has always left the door slightly ajar when it comes to Curb. His comedic instincts and perfectionist tendencies coupled with the endless absurdities of modern society mean that if he feels there’s more to say, it’ll be just as sharp and entertaining as ever. The possibility of another Curb Your Enthusiasm season is exciting to hear—after all, who wouldn’t want to see more of Larry David being, well, Larry David?

Modern Family season 11 brought the popular sitcom to an end after over a decade, but many questioned why Modern Family season 12 never happened. Here’s REAL REASON and that may be make you CRY.

Why Was Modern Family Canceled After Season 11?

Collage of the characters from Modern Family hugging and a closeup of Ty Burrell

    Summary

Modern Family season 12 never happened because the show’s creators always planned for season 11 to be the end. They wanted to give the characters a proper send-off.
The show remained popular and a consistent ratings performer for ABC, but the decision to end it was made after season 9 received a hit in critical favor.
There were plans for a Modern Family spin-off centered around Mitch, Cam, and Lily, but ABC decided against developing the series. However, the script for the spin-off already exists and could potentially be picked up by another network.

Modern Family season 11 brought the popular sitcom to an end after over a decade, but many questioned why Modern Family season 12 never happened. Filmed in the mockumentary style made famous by The OfficeModern Family showcased a large, diverse cast of related characters. In the beginning, there was the father, Jay Pritchett, his wife Gloria, their son Manny, and the families of Jay’s adult kids, Claire and Mitch. By the time Modern Family ended in season 11, the next generation of Dunphy/Pritchett’s had arrived, and the kids from season 1 were adults.

Throughout its long run, Modern Family‘s titular clan grew, adding spouses and multiple children, both adopted and biological. While Modern Family season 11 certainly wasn’t as sharp as earlier seasons, the show never wore out its welcome and remained popular. When Modern Family season 11 ended, it was still a consistent ratings performer for ABC. Considering that its formula could have gone on indefinitely, it’s strange that Modern Family season 12 never got the green light from ABC, and many viewers still want to know why Modern Family ended.

Why Modern Family Didn’t Return for Season 12

Season 11 Was Always Planned As The End For Modern Family

While co-creators and showrunners Christopher Lloyd and Steven Levitan never offered a single conclusive reason for why Modern Family ended, it had already been apparent for a while that the show was on the verge of signing off. When Modern Family was renewed for season 10, Lloyd and Levitan indicated it would likely be the final year, although a formal announcement was never made. The confirmation that the show was ending didn’t come until after season 9 had seen Modern Family take a significant hit in critical favor.

Interestingly, the fact that Lloyd, Levitan, and the writing staff went into season 10 believing it would likely be the last of Modern Family gave them the urge to try and shake things up, incorporating major life-altering events like the sudden and surprising death of DeDe Pritchett, Jay’s ex-wife and Claire and Mitch’s mom. Season 10 also saw Haley fall back in love with old flame Dylan, get married, and have twins.

This reinvigorated season 10 saw Modern Family‘s review scores shoot back up, and the writers/producers were so interested in seeing where these events would lead the family that Modern Family season 11 was pitched. ABC was more than happy to oblige that request, but when Modern Family was renewed for season 11, it was planned as the last for the show. Planning the ending gave Lloyd and Levitan the chance to give the characters a proper send-off, which is also partly why Modern Family season 12 never happened.

Modern Family Spin-Off Mitch And Cam Script Updates

There Were Plans For Modern Family To Continue In A New Show

The family hugging in the Modern Family series finale.

The Modern Family series finale saw many members of the combined Pritchett and Dunphy family head off on new adventures. All three Dunphy children moved out of their parents’ house, Manny went off on a trip with his dad, and Mitch, Cam, and Lily moved to Missouri so Cam could coach college football. This perfectly lays the groundwork for the planned Modern Family spinoff centered around Mitch, Cam, and their daughter Lily as the three embark on new adventures in Missouri.

Unfortunately, Jesse Tyler Ferguson confirmed the network has decided against developing the series, which Ferguson says is a pity because the script is already so good. That said, this also confirms that a script already exists, so it’s possible that the Mitch and Cam spin-off can be picked up by a different network. Though it spanned 11 seasons, audiences still couldn’t get enough of Modern Family. Whichever network picks up Mitch and Cam is likely to get stellar pilot episode ratings at least.

…if the cast stays in touch like this over the years, it might make it more likely that they will be open to an official television reunion at some point down the road.

While it doesn’t look likely that viewers will see the return of Modern Family characters in a spinoff show soon, fans can take solace in the fact that the cast of Modern Family seems to have stayed incredibly close over the years. Several Modern Family cast members reunited for Sarah Hyland’s wedding. Of course, if the cast stays in touch like this over the years, it might make it more likely that they will be open to an official television reunion at some point down the road.

What Has The Modern Family Cast Done Since The Show Ended?

    The Cast Remains Active

Though many still ask why Modern Family ended, the rest of the cast has since moved on to other projects. Ariel Winter (Alex) left LA altogether and has only recently appeared doing voice acting work for the game The Quarry. Sofia Vergara (Gloria) has been a judge on America’s Got Talent for several seasons, went on to star in the Netflix series Griselda, and voiced a character in Despicable Me 4. Ty Burrell (Phil) has also dipped his toes in some voice acting work, recently playing the father, Jack, in Duncanville.

Sarah Hyland (Hayley) hosted the US spinoff of Love Island since leaving Modern Family. She also took on roles in Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin and the movie My Fake Boyfriend. Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitch) wrote a cookbook after Modern Family and also won a Tony for his role in the Broadway renewal of Take Me Out. In 2023, he had a funny supporting role in Cocaine Bear.

Julie Bowen (Claire) took some time off after Modern Family ended, but she starred opposite Adam Sandler in his Netflix movie Hubie Halloween. Since then, she started doing more and has a recurring role on the animated series Hailey’s On It while appearing in the films The Fallout, Mixtape, and Totally Killer. Eric Stonestreet (Cam) also took a small break after Modern Family ended, but returned in 2022 as the host of Domino Masters before taking one of the main roles as Mad Santa in The Santa Clauses.

Nolan Gould (Luke) didn’t appear in anything after the ABC show ended until 2023 when he starred in Miranda’s Victim. Ed O’Neill (Jay) returned in 2024 for the miniseries Clipped. Rico Rodriguez (Manny) hasn’t returned to acting since Modern Family. Aubrey Anderson-Emmons (Lily), who basically grew up on the set of Modern Family, has turned to YouTube and TikTok, where she creates plenty of content.

Will There Be A Modern Family Reunion?

There’s No Plan To Bring The Modern Family Cast Back Together (Yet)

The cast of Modern Family smiling for a photo in the season 1 finale

While there are no plans for a Modern Family season 12, and the Mitch and Cam spinoff looks dead in the water, there are still hopes that the cast will return for a Modern Family reunion special. Over the last few years, many sitcoms, from Friends to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, have reunited the cast for a one-off reunion episode. There’s no reason Modern Family couldn’t do the same, though there’s nothing planned yet.

This means that 2025 would be the earliest a reunion special could happen if it were tied to a significant milestone.

This is somewhat unsurprising in a way — Modern Family ended in 2020, still less than five years ago. This means that 2025 would be the earliest a reunion special could happen if it were tied to a significant milestone. That doesn’t mean there isn’t already talk and speculation about the Modern Family cast returning for a reunion, though, which speaks volumes for the show’s popularity.

Ariel Winter was open about the cast’s feelings on a reunion during a 2022 interview (via PopCulture), and her insight was a positive sign for those who hope Modern Family will return. “Obviously, we’d all love to get back to work and work together again, that would be awesome, but I do think that where the story ended was perfect for the show,” she revealed before adding, “I think that it would need to be a spinoff of the show, like where the characters are now.”

The cast has also come together in other ways, specifically for Sarah Hyland’s wedding which saw Jesse Tyler Ferguson officiate the event. It seems that Modern Family ended in season 11, and if the cast is seen again, it will have to be in a new show or some kind of reunion special down the line. While this may disappoint fans hoping for Modern Family season 12, Ariel Winter’s reasoning is sound.

Modern Family ended on a satisfying note, telling a story that spanned multiple generations of the same family across an entire decade. While that could go on indefinitely, it made sense to end Modern Family when it did.

The cast has posted several personal reunions on their social media accounts.

Some Modern Family Cast Members Came Together For A Commercial

Four Cast Members Reprised Their Roles For WhatsApp

In a big moment for Modern Family fans, four cast members reprised their roles in a new television commercial. The ad was for the app WhatsApp, and they not only appeared as their characters, but they were perfectly repeating their famed roles. It saw Phil and Claire sitting on the couch and talking to Cam about the new photos they got of Haley’s kids. Mitchell came in and wanted to see the pictures, but Phil accidentally told him it was in their group chat, which confused Mitchell, who was kicked out of the chat.

The commercial was just a spot that showed how WhatsApp can improve everyone’s experience, even if someone has a phone that doesn’t work well with other group chats. It ends with Cam and Mitchell in bed, still talking about Cam being “cut out.” It was fun to see at least four of the cast members back together in character.

There have also been smaller moments where the Modern Family cast supported each other. Sofia Vergara brought Erc Stonestreet to America’s Got Talent as a special judge, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson appeared on Aubrey Anderson-Emmons’ YouTube channel, as well as in a TikTok with her.
