Warning: Some SPOILERS lie ahead for Happy’s Place season 1!Happy’s Place season 2 gets a major tease regarding the Bobbie and Emmett relationship arc. The NBC comedy focuses on Bobbie and her half-sister Isabella, portrayed by Reba McEntire and Belissa Escobedo, respectively. Having already generated a loyal fanbase, and reuniting McEntire with Reba co-star Melissa Peterman and producer Kevin Abbott, Happy’s Place was renewed for season 2 in February. During the season 1 finale, yubi Bobbie and Emmett (Rex Linn), a cook at the eponymous bar, seemed to make progress in their relationship, but the characters haven’t actually taken the next step.

Speaking with ScreenRant for the Happy’s Place season 1 finale, co-creator and showrunner Kevin Abbott teased Bobbie and Emmett’s relationship. As he explained, audiences are aware of their connection, but it remains unknown “whether or not they’ve decided to overcome the possible negatives of being together.” Abbott added that Isabella is someone who can play a part in helping their romance and that there will be “an arc” over several episodes surrounding that. He then expressed interest in seeing the relationship evolve because there were fewer love stories in Reba. Yeah, what I’d like the audience to walk away with, what I hope they do, is that we know that they both have feelings for each other and that there’s a possibility there now. Nobody has said whether or not they’ve decided to overcome the possible negatives of being together and the risk that is being taken.

But that’s what Isabella is there for—to push Bobbie and to push for love. So hopefully, what this does is promise something for season 2 that we’re going to be getting into, not just an episode about this, but it’ll be an arc. There’ll be a number of episodes that deal with this issue and to see where the two of them wind up because I’m kind of fascinated by it.

Like I said, that was the one area that I really didn’t get to tell stories about in the original Reba—love interest stories. I’m really excited to see it. She’s charming. She’s absolutely charming when she plays in love. How can you not love her?

The idea of Bobbie and Emmett drew polarizing reactions from the staff at the titular bar, who expressed concern over their working relationship being negatively affected, should things end on the wrong foot. Because of that, audiences can see how Isabella may be needed to help Bobbie, and the Happy’s Place season 2 tease indicates that she will continue offering support. Her efforts might look like interference, but Bobbie and Emmett have demonstrated to be unable to fully act on their feelings in season 1.

With Happy’s Place coming back for season 2, fans are clearly enjoying Reba McEntire getting back to her TV sitcom roots. But what does this mean for future episodes … including any special guest stars?

The hit NBC series famously stars the country superstar and her former Reba co-star Melissa Peterman as part of an ensemble cast running a bar in Knoxville, Tennessee. Given how Reba and Melissa’s past TV connection (Reba played Reba Hart while Melissa portrayed Barbra Jean Hart) sparked a massive outpouring of joy from viewers, it was only fitting to try and bring back other Reba cast members as guest stars.

With Steve Howey (who played Van Montgomery) and Christopher Rich (who portrayed Brock Hart) already making appearances in season 1, yubi, are there any other actors potentially in the works to be on Happy’s Place as well? According to series showrunner Kevin Abbott, he’s already trying to work out a way to have another special person come on the show at some point.

“We definitely want to bring Joanna [Garcia Swisher] in,” he told TV Insider on March 22. “We’ve been talking to her. It’s a matter of timing for her.”

Now, fans remember JoAnna for portraying Reba’s daughter Cheyenne Montgomery on Reba for six seasons. She also has been busy starring on the Netflix hit drama Sweet Magnolias, which is currently in limbo about a season 5 renewal. Even though JoAnna’s schedule may not exactly work out, it doesn’t mean she wouldn’t be down to try something out on the show.

As she explained to Good Housekeeping back in June 2023, JoAnna would be thrilled to find a way to reunite with her former Reba co-stars on screen in some capacity.

“We’re all still very, very close,” JoAnna said at the time. “We’re a big family. We always have been and we always will. I would love to do anything with them. If the opportunity presented itself, we would be all in with two feet.”

American Idol season 23 was a difficult run, especially for new judge Carrie Underwood, who I think is likely afraid to return for the next season of the series after heated fan backlash. Throughout American Idol season 23, Carrie faced scrutiny that was both warranted and unwarranted. Viewers struggled to understand how Carrie fit into the judging role, especially after Katy Perry’s big personality left a larger hole than she was able to fill. While Carrie’s a previous American Idol winner, it seemed that she didn’t anticipate how much would go into judging the competition she once ran away with.

Carrie struggling through her time on American Idol wasn’t her fault alone, but the blame fell on her quickly. While her fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie have been part of the show since the series reboot in 2018, the long-time judges didn’t appear to help her ease into her new role, and there were reports that the trio didn’t have a great dynamic. Despite knowing that things were going to be rough during the transition, Carrie’s time as a judge played worse than expected. I’d be afraid to come back, too, if I’d faced the reception Carrie did.

Although Idol used to welcome new judges almost seasonally after its first stretch of seasons, the reboot had the same trio of judges from the start until Katy’s departure after American Idol season 22. Despite the fact that viewers knew Katy was going to be leaving the show, it was a tough blow to longtime fans of the series who had grown to enjoy her quirky, over-the-top style. Katy’s ability to be a fun judge who gave valuable feedback was impressive, and when Carrie stepped into the role, it was clear she was going to need to make an impression.

Unfortunately, Carrie’s first season judging American Idol became less of a positive experience than anticipated. As the first former winner to join the American Idol judge’s panel, Carrie seemed like she would have a different level of knowledge than the others, but she had a hard time figuring out who she was as a judge. Throughout the season, Carrie was scrutinized by viewers who didn’t enjoy the way she was presenting herself. Others called her out for allegedly micro-aggressive behavior to Lionel and contestants of color, while some simply didn’t enjoy the energy she brought to American Idol season 23.

Carrie’s Judging Style Never Fully Developed

She Wasn’t Sure How To Critique

While Carrie seemed like she was getting off to the right foot in the first episodes of the season and developing her voice as a judge, it quickly became clear that she didn’t know how to keep herself consistent. From moments where she overstepped her boundaries to try and give empowering advice to a young mother to other moments where she let her emotions lead her critiques, Carrie seemed like she wasn’t able to give technical criticisms when they needed to be said. With Carrie toeing the line between soft and serious, it was clear throughout the season that she didn’t define her voice or who she was as an Idol judge. Carrie’s voice went undeveloped, and may stay that way.

Carrie’s Shared A Lot Of Ambiguous News About Next Season

She Has Yet To Confirm She’ll Return

After American Idol season 23 came to a close, the backlash over Carrie’s performances was still louder than usual, or at least louder than it had been in past seasons of the series once the winner was crowned. When asked about whether or not she’d be returning to Idol, Carrie didn’t give a clear answer. While it’s possible she doesn’t have a real answer, Carrie’s inconsistencies in her answers were more concerning than the fact that she didn’t provide any solid direction. Carrie didn’t sound like she was interested in returning, which was more of a concern than anything concrete.

While Carrie was open about the fact that Idol was a new experience for her, the criticisms she faced throughout the season were harsh. I will admit I’m not entirely certain what kind of critique Carrie has faced in the music industry for her past releases, but I feel certain that the backlash she received appearing on Idol was a lot worse than the criticism she’s faced as a country artist. While Carrie’s music has certainly been criticized, the fact that she was being critiqued on a personal level was likely alarming enough to keep her uncertain about another season.

Carrie’s Afraid Of Having Another Bad Idol Season

The Bad Press Isn’t Worth The Payoff

While I’m not sure if I want to see her back, I think Carrie’s likely afraid about the idea of returning to American Idol for another season because of how much backlash she faced after her first time on the show in a judging role. Though Carrie had some great moments throughout American Idol season 23 and revisited her time as a contestant throughout the season, it doesn’t seem like something she’d want to put herself through again. With the end of the season appearing to be a struggle for Carrie, I don’t think a return is in the cards.

Though I don’t know what the future holds, if I were in Carrie’s position, I wouldn’t want to come back for another run at the judge’s panel, either. Getting blamed for a lot of the issues on American Idol season 23 couldn’t have been easy, and unless there are substantial changes coming to American Idol season 24, I don’t think it would be worth it to put herself in the line of fire. Carrie may not have been the best American Idol judge there’s ever been, but her unique point of view was worth a try on this season’s panel.

Blind Auditions for ‘The Voice’ Will Be Taped Twice a Day for 4 Days in July

Snoop, McEntire, Bublé, and Horan are scheduled to film Blind Auditions for season 28 across four days — July 6, 7, 8 and 9 — at the show’s soundstage in Universal City, California, according to ticketing agent 1iota.

Each day, there will be two groups of Blind Auditions filmed with different audience members, ages 18 and up. One taping starts at 11 a.m. and the other starts at 3 p.m. Tickets to the July 6 tapings are already booked, but at the time of publication on June 3, there were still tickets available for the remaining time slots.

What’s not clear yet is whether another foursome of celebrity coaches has been lined up to also film Blind Auditions for season 29. That’s how filming for “The Voice” has worked for the last two years, with two seasons taping back-to-back. Coach John Legend, who just wrapped his 10th season on the show, explained the new schedule to former “The Voice” coach Kelly Clarkson on her talk show in February 2025.

He told her, “The way we’re taping these days, we do two seasons per, like, summer and early fall. So even when you’re away, you’re really not away.”

Season 28 of ‘The Voice’ Will Undergo Multiple Scheduling Changes

Once “The Voice” returns in thh fall, fans will have to pay close attention to the shifting schedule. The two-hour season 28 premiere of “The Voice” is expected to take place on Tuesday, September 16, according to Deadline.

The night before, NBC will air the “America’s Got Talent” season finale. But after that — at least for the remainder of September — “The Voice” will follow its usual format, with two-hour shows on Mondays and Tuesdays.

The schedule starts to shift in October. NBA games are moving to NBC, which means “The Voice” will begin airing just one night a week, with two-hour shows on Mondays only. There will be no recap episodes on Tuesdays, as was common during season 27.

Fans will get even less of “The Voice” in November, per Deadline, when those two-hour Monday night shows get squeezed down to just one-hour episodes. Meanwhile, December is currently a bit of wild card because the NBA schedule isn’t set in stone yet. Depending on how that shakes out, Deadline reported, there may be some episodes of “The Voice” that air on Tuesdays that month.

Another season of The Voice has officially come and gone!

On Wednesday, May 21, season 27 officially came to an end, and — spoiler alert — Adam David, from Michael Bublé’s team, was crowned the winner. He beat out fellow Team Bublé contestant Jadyn Cree, Team Kelsea Ballerini’s Jaelen Johnston, Team Adam Levine’s Lucia Flores Wiseman, and Team John Legend’s RENZO.

In its 27 seasons, the long-running NBC music competition show has gone through many different iterations for its judges panel, but the forthcoming season might be its biggest switcheroo yet.

For the forthcoming season 28, not one, not two, but three of the four judges are not coming back, making Michael, who first joined for season 26 in 2024, the only judge staying on.

Adam, a founding judge alongside Blake Shelton, who has since also left the show, initially departed in 2019, and this season was his first (and apparently only) back on the chair,

He confirmed as much during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, declaring: “I am gonna confirm the rumors are true.” He added: “The rumors are correct. There are details. I cannot divulge all the details.”

However he did share: “But the details are basically, roughly, there’s a single coming at the end of the month-ish. I’m really excited about it. An album is coming over the summer. Non-specifically around the summertime. And then, even more non-specifically, there is a tour coming in the fall-ish,” seemingly teasing new Maroon 5 music coming soon.

On the other hand, Kelsea, who made her debut as judge this season, is eager to lay low for a while. Speaking with ExtraTV, she confessed: “I’m going to hibernate for a while,” and emphasized she is going to “disappear for a bit.”

Still, she added of the season coming to an end: “It’s very bittersweet because it’s kind of felt like summer camp is coming to an end… It’s been such a fulfilling and inspired journey as being a first-time coach.”

Last but certainly not least, John is also leaving, however he has been more mum about it and what his summer plans are. While he hasn’t opened up much about it this time around, he has taken breaks from The Voice before, and when he didn’t come back for season 26, he told Entertainment Tonight: “We’ve always got so many things going on. I’ll be doing a lot of shows this summer and traveling overseas this summer.”

Adam has been the coach with Blake Shelton for a longtime and he did not have an idea that he will have to be on sets with the latter.

Sources claim, “Adam didn’t realize how much his experience was made by having Blake on set with him until this season when he had to film without him.”

“He didn’t enjoy this season as much as he anticipated, but he definitely feels Blake’s void and misses him”, an insider revealed.

They further added, “That’s not to say he doesn’t like the other coaches this season, he does. But he didn’t have as much fun as he did in the past with his buddy Blake.”
